i am questioning the authenticity of the sim tires... do you think they really simulate real life tires?

i did some testing with a bone STOCK Supra RZ by timing it's
0-60mph with sims, and then normal tires...

With sims i did the 0-60 in 7.066 sec.
with normal tires i did it in 5.750 sec.

the normal tires is obviously correct...

what d'you guys think about that??

ofcourse simulation tires is not really "Simulation Tires" you do not peel out in 1st gear like that. it's like tires dunked in oil. yes i ofcourse i would not say sim tires are really sim.:D

i'm expecting someone to say that this thread doesn't belong here... hehe

so in order for me to save this thread i ask another question for all you real life drifters out there...

Which tire simulates real life drifting more? Sim Tires or Normal?

Ok heres my attempt to end this sim tyre thing for a long long time to come: If I want 'realism' I'll go drive a car. if I wanna have a good time spinning tires in GT3, getting some 3D seat time before I go and really try it, sims. If this makes sense to anyone but me, I'll be happy.

Sims: Good for drifting, require more skill and control
Real car: Real.

I use sims on my cars in the stock to 300hp range. On my 500 - 600hp range I use normal or sports. Then on my 1000hp cars I usually use SS tires. I've broken this down for the lamen, but it varies a little with each car. My favorite drift cars are my S14 with around 500hp with normal tires, my 180sx with 480hp and normals, my S13 with 490hp and and normals, my Altezza with 300hp and sims, my AE86 with 290hp and sims, and my AE86 SS with 340hp and normal tires. ;)

thanks for your replies everyone...

and as for me...i don't prefer to use sims at all, however... i'll use sims for low hp cars (if the car has less than 250HP...sims it is)

from waht you said i can PROBABLY suggest that your drifts are slow. TCS is a no no. and yea i would use super soft for for super fast cars like RX-7 LM or Escudo etc. but go sims with NO TCS. it's fun as hell:D

ehhhhh, I believe that sims are easy compared to racing slicks. I have used sims and racing slicks, and I can say that in my opinion that "sims-racing slicks" drifting is harder than "racing slicks-sims" drifting since with racing slicks, the is a lot more traction to break. and also, I don't use ridiculsy high-powered cars, I use cars with 270HP-400HP all of which have mediums all around, some even use super-softs on some cars. peace.
