Passed everything, didn't struggle too much on others tracks, the Kei race was tricky until I discovered the K20 civic engine swap on the Honda Beat which made the race so easy with a bit of tuning and a full economy mode.
Its funny seeing all these different experiences in this thread.
For the KeiCar event there was no struggle for me, the Copen just wins by being more fuel efficient (when I did it).

For Maggiore:
As I am doing that race quite often, my to date best result (and that by large) was with the Mazda VGT.
Shifting early, a bit below 50% of the rev-indicator into
2 at 90km/h
3 at 120km/h
4 at 160km/h
5 at 190km/h
6 at 225km/h

2 stop with RM and just refuel to 10 laps capacity, which should be around 60% to 70% depending on how good you manage.
Tyrewear shouldnt bother you at all with this car on this event.

it helped a lot thanks a lot

Well I'm going to try the Tsukuba race again tomorrow or Monday, I have got to try to get 1st if I can, I had a 7-day ER stay and I came home Tuesday so I will not be overdoing it. I'll perform at my best level. I'm human, not a robot. So I'll need some assistance if you don't mind. For whoever reads this forum.

Thank you,
Chris

Hi there! I haven't been too much active in the forum nowadays, but I felt like sharing that.

Today I completed the last 1hr race of the Human Comedy missions., being that the Lago Maggiore one.

And oh boy, that race is a love and hate situation.

First I tried the most common recomendation. The Mazda RX. That car... I don't like it. Never did. And never was I able to clock the 1:58's regularly with that. I got a P9 with it. 2 stops, RM, FM1 you know the drill by now.

Then I tried few other cars, always running the 1st stint only to get a feel of it. I test drove the Alfa Romeo 4C, the AMG '20, the Peugeot RCZ, the Porsche, the Honda NSX and the Mclaren.

I was getting the best lap times out of the Mclaren. I completed 2 races with it getting P3 in both races. In one race I clocked almost every lap at 59's and still wasn't good enough.

Then I decided to try a different car today. The Honda NSX GT 500. And I had the race of my life! The car felt fast and safe, lapping the 58's were no hard task. I felt like I wasn't even pushing it all.

So that's how I beat this damn race. Old school Honda NSX GT500, 2 pits. Laps 10 and 20, RM and FM1 all the way.

I'm gonna try this tonight as soon as I come back from the gym, I'll let you know how things went! Still need to finish that race...

I tried with the supra GT500, that seemed the best for me but still couldn't break into 1st place.

Will have to give this a go before the physics change comes with the new update 😬

When someone is faster with those MR cars they surprise me, as they require more control on the brakes:
they tend to oversteer in the long right turn before the uphill esses.

But whatever works shall do the trick, in the end its all simply practice ;)

I don't know if my line of thought is correct, but with the NSX GT500 my approach to that turn was easier for me than the other cars. "break, downshift, turn, hit the gas".

The other cars, (the mazda for example) I always hit the brakes, downshifted and worked somehow on correcting the car before hitting the gas to go uphill.

The Mclaren gave me an easy flow at that turn too, but when tyres started to wear I felt like the braking distance changed a lot and I couldn't negociate that right hander as well as before.

Cheers boss. What difficulty level did you run at... not sure if that weird reversal of hard being easiest is still a thing with missions.

Thanks mate.

It was on "normal". I played all the Human Comedy races on normal difficulty.

However, the Lago Maggiore one I did try some of those test drive stints I mentioned on hard and I (apparently) couldn't see the difference. Both the leader's lap times (Yamanaka and his Toyota) and the gap I holding up to him were always the same.

Because of that I kept on normal anyways.

Cheers mate. Appreciate it.

Hsve noticed a couple of comments in here alluding to chill races being exempt to difficulty level, can't recall if missions are chilli rated or not... haven't opened missions menus at all in good year or so.

Maybe difficulty set makes no difference to the missions.

Hello there! (Impersonating Ewan Mcgregor's Obi Wan Kenobi voice)

I was bored with GT7, but even so I booted the game and started looking for some trouble. I mean, fun. I was looking for some fun. 😃

I went back to Lago Maggiore and test drove another batch of cars. Mr. Yamanaka let me borrow his Toyota so I could see what was the fuzz all about. But I didn't like it. It felt heavy and hard to turn. Same thing with Mr. Rubilar's BMW. That car seemed so large and floaty. By all means they are not bad cars, no it all. I just couldn't fit in them. I also tried the Viper (my favorite Gr3) and I had the pace, but tyre wear stopped me from being on the 58's.

Then I tried the Ferrari 458. And the magic happened again. What was meant to be a test drive became a full race. I was right on the 58's spot all the time. No matter the tyre wear. However I finished the race P3. I went back and checked the replay. The problem was that Rubilar was always ahead, so I never had the chance. Maybe I wasn't paying much attention on what was going on in the race because it was a simple test drive at first. My gaming time were over, and I called it a day.

New day, new livery, the same click with the car and an extra pinch of concentration track position wise and victory #2 at the Lake was in the pocket. Happy days! 😎

Final thoughts:
This race is a love and hate situation. I hate the traffic at the start, I hate the AI divebombing at Turn 1 and I hate the fact the AI saves so much more fuel than me and gets a faster pit stop. However, I'm getting to like the challenge this race brings more and more. It's a simple and pure challenge of pace and consistency. I wish GT had more races like that.

Edit: this was on normal difficulty. All assists off except abs weak and TCS 1.

I really envy how you guys can all do this, I can't go below the 2:00 mark no matter which car I drive, the AI is so much faster and leaves me in the dust, and to top it all they ram me all over the place with their dive-bombs, especially in turn 1. I've just given it another try with the RCZ, which seemed to be a popular choice, and 2:00 at best once again it was. It's the only challenge I'm missing and it drives me mental.

Hello there and welcome to one more episode of our "driving MR cars at the Lake" podcast.

After a victory on Friday with the 458 I came back for more Lake on Saturday. Seeing the pattern that has been working for me I picked up more MR cars to test drive.

First the Citroen GT. I always loved that thing since the PS3 days. I had the 58's with it but tyre wear were an inconvenience for me. Then I moved on I picked the Renault RS GT3. And the connection happened again. The car was easy to drive (the Citroen had too many gears and they were too short, maybe that difference helped seeing the Renault as an easy one).

In comparison to the other winners on my list (a short list, I know 😁) this one got me more sliding acrion during the late part of each stint. I don't know if it is the car thing or me just pushing a little bit more as confidence starts to grow with the race. Also I had the impression my pit stops were shorter. Maybe this car saved more fuel? I gotta study the replay later.

Anyways, victory #3 at the Lake is in the books. 😎

As always, difficulty on normal, all assists off. Except ABS weak. For this one I ran TCS 0.

@Strax if I could say anything, I'd say don't give up. It all comes down to finding the car that you can get the lap times and then practice. Strategy wise the thing is to never let Rubilar go. Gotta keep him behind you and build a gap that invalidates his faster pit stop advantage.

Rubilar runs way ahead of me pace-wise, what really destroys my morale is that first of all I can't run 58's, and even worse at the very start they run some stupid times such as 54's and jump 10+ seconds ahead of me, and with tire wear things always get worse obviously. By lap 8/9 I'm already enough disappointed and sad that I just quit.

Cool win and podcast, where was the footage shown? On YouTube?

I noticed that with the 1.49 update that according to their update notes “The difficulty level has been adjusted for the following event:
  ・Tsukuba Circuit One Hour”

So I thought I would give it another go. But nope. Didn’t feel easier or different at all. Ended 5th which gave me 0 credits (since I’ve ended 4th earlier) and I got a 3-star Daily Workout ticket which awarded me 10.000 credits. That’s another hour of my life I won’t get back! 🙄

I'm gonna tell you one thing, that Tsukuba 1 hour race is a pain in the rear end, I never come in better than 9th. So, I don't know how on God's green earth I'm gonna be able to pull a victory here unless a miracle happens and I mean soon. Meaning most of the AI drivers get drunk and pass out which will give me the win, xD.
