I was thinking today while studying about my long term goals, and what will truly make me feel satisfied. I ended up imagining it would be living in a nice home with wife and kids, after much hard work and studying, while pulling out of the driveway in a black Porsche 930. I imagine that would truly make me feel satisfied and accomplished

But enough about me, my question to you is when do you think you will truly feel satisfied. Are you satisfied right now? If not, then what do you think you need to get there?

I need so much to be truly satisfied. I think thats a human condition, you are never satisfied wholly. You may be satisfied with your progress toward your goal, but I dont think you can every truly be finished.

Never. There are far too many things way beyond my control for me to be truly satisfied.

General contentedness is much more obtainable, but there will always be something in life that could have gone better or could become better.

I feel like I am almost to that point where I am truly satisfied with my life. I have a car I've always wanted, I have a good job and I am pretty happy about things. Only thing left is living in a better part of the world and meeting the right person to spend my life with and all that stuff.

For those that know me well know I don't like where I live. I have tried to venture out into the world only to be dragged back by a job that keeps me stuck in the same area. I quite fancy the idea of moving to Melbourne someday. I tried it once and I fell in love.

That's when I will truly be satisfied. But until then...

I am.

And no, I'm not a millionaire or particularly good at anything, I'm eternally grateful for being able to enjoy the freedom and safety that sadly only the minority of people today can enjoy.

I am more than satisfied with my life - I can't think back to a time I have not been. Sure I have ambitions and dreams, but if I end up not achieving these things I'll still be able to be satisfied with my life.

Your midlife crisis will come with a huge bang.

I have some instances that leave me quite satisfied. A couple is when I succeed in a challenging goal, doing what I want to do, maintaining constant happiness, and so forth. Sadly, there's little in my life that is truly satisfying. I'd imagine when I grow older, I see myself living a generous lifestyle. Perhaps with a family, with the best job, with the best of friends, accomplishing my dreams; all squeezed in a location away from generally bad people.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with my life right now. Sure, there are many things that could be better, but it's not enough to make me care that much. Being truly satisfied to the point where I can die happy knowing that I did everything I wanted to do? That will come when I have a stable income doing what I love (playing music), a nice living space (doesn't have to be too big), a nice cheap sports car that I can thrash on the weekends, and possibly a woman to share it all with. But, I can't be sure. Perhaps I won't be satisfied even at that point. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

My vision of being as satisfied as possible. Probably leaving a house in a nice city in a Bayside Blue Nissan Skyline R34 GTR with my current girlfriend in the passenger seat while leaving for a roadtrip to Destin, Florida. Might one day happen, though I can never be truly satisfied, nobody can.

When? Maybe about 3.35 PM and 38.8372 seconds on January 13th, 2025... Roughly. When I realize that life didn't turn out to be what I wanted and decide to be happy with what I've got.

I'm more than satisfied if I can have a simple life with a job that can pay my bills. I'm an active hobbyist so all I really like spending my time on is doing that stuff.

I really don't want to get into the business world; there's just too much stuff happening at a faster rate than I can mentally be comfortable with.

I don't know. Right now hockey is the only thing I really enjoy. And I know that can't do that forever... :/

Right now. One and a half years ago I made it to the school where I wanted to get, and that's all I definitely need right now. Probably I'll get greater satisfaction when I get the job I want. But currently I don't have anything particular in my mind.

As soon as I have a wife, maybe a few kids, Jay Leno's garage, plus a few other cars that I like, being a race car driver, a big house, and a sizeable amount of dough.

Oh, and a 1992 Toyota Camry LE in silver. :)

Tbh, you're always chasing something in life so truly satisfied is only an assumption at any particular moment, then your life and goals move on.

No. I won't be satisfied until I am a CMA Accountant, with a Dodge Dart and that damn house in Wheatley that makes me reminisce of my childhood.

That's well said man. I too feel the same.
Once I thought I would be satisfied when I got a PS3 and GT5. (I only had a PSOne and GT2 back then)
Got 'em both, still unsatisfied.

Wow, that's a deep question OP.

I am quite unsatisfied with my life right now. I'm currently 19 and I have great parents who sends me to college and covers my expenses. In short, still living off of my parents. But still, unsatisfied. I know, guess that reflects me being a very ungrateful person. I too agree that I am.

But to answer your question, I would be satisfied when I have achieved a bank account of a million bucks. That way, I feel I will be financially secure, seeing as the world is so tough and the rate of inflation right now. :scared: But the problem now is, HOW?

Sigh, I wished I was a kid again.

When I invent a son that does everything better than I and poops filet mignon, I will be content.

I'll be properly satisfied when I don't mind getting up to go to work, or the daily grind in general, because I'll have every basic need fulfilled. Love, enough money to get by, an ok house, maybe kids further down the road.
I don't want opulence, just isn't a realistic standard.

We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.

After eating a full chicken parmo I am usually thoroughly satisfied. So probably this saturday night :P

I don't know when I'll be truly satisfied. I'd certainly be incredibly happy when I'm married to someone I love with one, maybe two kids. But then there is the part of me that wants to succeed and do well in life, earn a good salary, certainly enough to have a car I love and be able to take my family out to nice restaurants, take them on nice holidays in the Caribbean and expose them to other cultures.

My ultimate ultimate goal would obviously to be incredibly rich. Not necessaryily in monetary terms, but in experiences and memories. And if I was rich, I'd use my money to help change the world. Of course, I'd have a big house and expensive supercars, but I'd also give a lot to charity, help fund world-changing research, help raise awareness of problems.

I will be satisfied when a zombie apocalypse occurs but humans survive and defeat all the zombies and I become ruler of the world. In other words, I will never be satisfied.

I don't think there can be a permanent feeling of being satisfied. There are too many problems in life (which are inevitable) which means that there is always going to be something that you want or want to happen. The first step to satisfaction is to understand that you'll never be satisfied. Think of it from a Buddhist point of view.

What these people said. You can do things to get closer to being truly satisfied but life is too short and there are too many things to do to get total satisfaction :( .
