When do you think you will feel truly satisfied?

^ Agreed, I don't think I will ever be totally satisfied. Some of my dreams, which I have a 99.9% chance of not fulfilling, will remain dreams.

For me to get closest to full satisfaction:
- Have a stable family, bring my kids up to be hardworking, productive, model citizens.
- Actually be a productive citizen.
- Fly a hang glider, ultralight, and certain other aircraft, at least once.
- Become a pilot for a great airline.
- Build my dream motorcycle, with an inline-6 Honda CBX1000 engine.
- Have a good source of income, enough to fulfill both my family's, and my own needs.
- Drive around the Nurburgring Nordschleife, in a sports car (rented maybe).
- See and hear an Avro Vulcan, in person. Getting a chance to tour it will be even better. And getting to fly in one... (99.99% dream)
- Actually go to a race, preferably F1.

That's all I can think of right now.

Such a difficult conservation because of the various interpretations of "satisfied" and the various aspects of life that one can be satisfied with. You can be satisfied with any of the following:

- Standard of living (house, car, etc.)
- Financial security (if you think these first two are the same thing you're in big trouble)
- Intellectual accomplishments (career goals)
- Personal accomplishments (marriage, kids, hobbies, physical fitness, etc.)
- Legacy or public perception (fame, recognition, impact on the course of history)
- Emotional connectivity (quality of marriage, friends, relationship with kids, etc.)
- Life experiences (travel, physical activities like skydiving, racing, skiing, sex, etc.)

I'm within mere months of checking off many of those things. Here's what I'm satisfied with right now:
- Standard of living
- Intellectual accomplishments
- Legacy
- Emotional connectivity
- Life experiences

That's not to say that I'm not ambitious about any of those above. I'm just satisfied with my accomplishments in those areas even if I dropped dead right now (well, a few months from now). More would be better, but not necessary.

I'm decades away from being satisfied with personal accomplishments and financial security.
