When will PD get the sound right.

After watching this vid and playing gt5.....I am reminded of how much work the sounds need. The mclaren starts around 2:30

In the vid you can clearly hear the individual throttles taking in the air. Brings a chill to my body. Why cant pd do better then what they have giving us. With the tech avalible today surely they can come up with better

I love this game. But as a hometheater tech I crave better in the sound department.

* dont know why hakkenin is talking about the turb whistling....as we all know the F1 doesnt have them lol

Yeah..the sound of Most of the cars is disappointing.
Even more disappointing is I knew they would be and they are..:sly:

Yeah, I agree, I also wonder why noone actually mentioned it earlier?

I hope this thread will bring up some new opinions and thoughts and ignite decent and competent discussion on this interesting - but in lights of this community forum - often overlooked subject.

Good work 👍

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, this is (in my opinion) PD's biggest failing with every car in the game. No intake sound. It's so important for road cars in particular.

Good work 👍

We are lacking opinions other than "the sound sucks" which, of course, helps no-one. It has been discussed to death elsewhere; however, the discussion itself has stagnated, since PD has yet to show any signs of improvement - it's the same arguments since GT3, really, as far as accuracy is concerned. GT2 was such an improvement over GT that I certainly would never have complained.

PD will get the sound right when they stop thinking about it in limited terms of engine noise & start thinking of it in terms of car noise. Think outside the box PD, in fact why not just throw away the box all together damn it! ;)

Cars make lots more noises than what just comes from the engine as any real racer or sim enthusiast will know. Also, engine noise isn't simply just the sound of the revs rising up & going back down, there's so much more to it than that.

Now add to that the fact that what you hear when driving a car is very different to what you hear when watching a car being driven & they're both totally different to what you hear when watching either of those things from a recording ie:TV footage, now you can see there's huge scope for improvement.
