Where was God on 9/11?

He means that, since we can't say how God was born(other than through Christ, if you're a Christian), then we have no reason for saying Evolutionism is a complete flaw(I say complete because we always find flaws in it then refine it again) because we don't know how the universe came from nothingness.
So the arguement can't go "Well, then where did (the universe/God) come from?" because the other side can come back with the exact same question.

God was exactly where most people knew he was,NOWHERE. If you believe in god great that's your choice. I don't. I was in the Canadian military for 8 years and saw first hand that he could never exist. I saw in Rwanda people hacked to death with machetes, I saw people in the former Yugoslavia executed and and burned alive. I've seen children in Haiti, Somalia, Zaire starving to death. Don't tell me that god exists.

Because there is a God doesn't mean there is no Satan, or another "great" malevolent force in the universe. Have you seen anything good happen?
Did many people get together to rescue a small girl from a well about 17 years ago?
Did a nation come together after a group of cowards hijacked four jets and wreaked all sorts of havoc on 11 Sept. 2001?
Did a group of people agree to give their own lives to save whatever the target was of the jet that crashed in a remote field?

Just because bad, even horrible things happen, doesn't automatically discount the existence of God. There is obviously good in the world too.
Were you in all of those horrible situations to stand by and watch? Or were you there to put a stop to it?
In the book of Job, Satan asked permission to torment Job in the hopes that he would do exactly as you are doing. Giving up on God.

I'm sorry that you went through that and that stuff happens but that doesn't mean he doesn't exist.

Both of these posts (the first one by freerider and the second one by Gil) show a degree of naive-ness.

The fact that because freerider has seen people die in this world he immediately jumps to the conclusion there is no god is laughable. If there was a god, would he not ever let anybody die and lead to overcrowding, starvation, etc? Would we all continue to live well into our 200s? What kind of life would that be? Itd be a personal hell, frankly.

The fact that Gil has seen good things happen in the world and immediately gived kudos to his god is also laughable. Does god do all things that are good? Is it 'a miracle' everytime somebody is saved in the world? When that girl was saved from that well, why do you believe God - rather than the people doing it - had anything to do with it?

Eh.

M5,
Are you pushing my buttons?
:D:D:D

I suppose YOU might see a bit of naivete in the last post I made. Read the rest of them.
The way I figure it if you believe that I'm wasting my time believing in God, remember it is MY time. As well, it makes me feel better. I win in my mind on that count, even if there is no God.

On the other hand if there is a God, and I do what the Bible directs me to do, as far as interpersonal relationships, social behavior and worship, I get to go to Heaven when I die.
I win again.

In other words, for me, no matter how it works out, I win my own happiness/salvation out of the deal.

If you don't believe and you're wrong, what's the outcome?

I may be "naive" but I just LOVE those WIN-WIN situations.

But what happens if you spend you whole life worshipping and end up just like the rest of us who never worship? That's a huge waste of time, no matter whose time it is. Frankly, in my opinion, if you want to spend your time that way... you'd better be pretty sure there's an afterlife.

It is My time and others that are like minded.
We enjoy each others company. We sing, pray, laugh, and sometimes eat together (church ladies can throw down in the kitchen :D ).
As I siad if I'm wrong about the existence of God, no blood, no foul.
If you're wrong...let's just say the "afterlife" could be un-pretty.

And same for me, too. :) Because I'll know, if the afterlife is truly 'un-pretty,' that I lived every moment of this life as much as I could as best as I could.

You know I have to try to have the last word. :D.
But to trade 100 years of partying for ETERNITY in an "un-pretty" afterlife.
Imagine spending eternity with ANNA Nicole, AND Phylis Diller.

See, fair point. But the fact that I believe there is no afterlife negates it - in my line of thinking, I can live my life as well as I can (partying?!) and not pay for it later. Win/win. In your situation, you can live your life as you currently live it, and get what I have now... later (and for eternity). So win/win for you too.

Which is why you'll never have the last word - because this thread'll never die!
