I thought all the really fast drivers were aliens. :gtpflag:
We can't forget about the Aliens, we still have a few to under cover that are among us. Who will be the fastest next year?

I can never tell if the Spanish are quick, they always kick me out of their rooms...

I 'd say the Germans I've come across are pretty quick, and the Danes!

haha i was making a joke. the germans are OK, the french though; those people are violent!!!

2 Japanese guys with LFAs gave me my worst a** kicking, but there are fast guys everywhere. Although Spain seemed to dominate the top of the worldwide leader board in the last GT Academy.

All Nations have their share of fast guys/gals, and it's hard to make generalizations about an entire ethnic group, but for consistency, the fastest, cleanest guys I know come from Finland. In my experience they're modest also, which is refreshing. It's always good racing with them, and I'd have to say the same about Japanese racers.

The fastest I seem to recall having raced against have been from the UK, the US, Canada and Finland. Sometimes they were fast enough for me to wonder if I was that bad or if they were just aliens

The best time trialers are Spanish and French. The best racers are British and Canadian. I could write a huge wall of test as to why, but I'm at work right now, you'll just have to take my word for it. Hopefully someone comes to back me up on this wild claim :P

DEAR SIR / MADAME

It is with great regret that we hereby announce that the thread "which country has the fastest online racers?"

has been nominated to the International Pointless Thread Awards [I.P.T.A.] 2013, in the category of :banghead:.

JURY'S MOTIVATION

An extremely odd thread about nationality and video game skill, as if they had anything to do with each other.

The most likely outcome of the thread in question is :(, and :ouch:.

COMPETITION

In its category, the thread is competing against "How many siblings do the fastest online racers have?"

and
"POLL: What diet is best if I want to get to the top in the seasonal time trials?"

We wish you the best of luck!

Sincerely,

The Jury of the I.P.T.A. 2013.

The answer to this could be grabbed from the PD/PSN database pretty quickly...

Select count(raceresultshistory.position), users.nationality
From racesresultshistory inner join users on (raceresultshistory.userid = users.userid)
Where raceresultshistory.position = 1
Group by nationality
Order by count(raceresultshistory.postion)

Either that or something similar on the time trial seasonals.

In the 2010 GT Academy, I was very happy to rank 58th in the UK. I then compared my time with all available leader boards to see where I would've been if I lived in another country. In all countries (bar one) I would've been on the top 250 leader boards, In a few countries I would even have made the top 20! However, there was one country where the drivers in the top 250 were all very fast, & I would not have even made it onto the top 250 leader board at all. That country was Japan.

The fastest drivers I have raced with are from the US and England but then most of the drivers I race with are from these countries so not a good sampling overall.

I really do think think where you are from has anything to do with skill though, there are great drivers and horrible drivers from everywhere.

Finland does pretty well, Greger Huttu!

To be honest though every country does real well, there is no "best" country there are only best drivers.
