Which Driver Cat are you atm and what do you prefer?

I've got 2 accounts. My main account, GTP_Torontoblue is B/S, and I maintain that quite easily.

My other account, gtp_dvddjd, floats between C/D, C/C & sometimes C/B. I do tank my safety rating to keep around D & C, and DR C.

I've actually found that the racing in the lesser safety groups is far more enjoyable, and 8/10 helluva lot cleaner than the S rated drivers. The lesser groups seems full of people wanting to better themselves and to rise through the ranks, making for better racing. SR/S is just an absolute cat fight and not very enjoyable. All IMO, of course.

So for now, I am using gtp_dvddjd a lot more than main account. I'm just having a lot more fun down there!

I prefer DR D so i can win a few races. Its about to move me up to C so I guess its time to tank a couple.

Honestly I don't care about either rating.

DR A and SR S, the lobbies are mostly enjoyable and really competitive. I just wish I had more time to race.

I've been A/S for a while now and although winning is very rare it's better than the DR.S to DR.D matchmaking I got in B/S. The racing is cleaner simply because the race pace and skill are more consistent in the rooms I get in now, even though I usually start towards the back of the pack.

B/S is also far from clean with people taking liberty with the SR cushion to get ahead, while DR.A drivers that crash in front feel like it's their god given right to drive through the lower ranks with any means necessary to get back to the front asap. Now I'm at around 40K DR that problem is mostly gone as it's much harder to catch back up in a room full of DR.S / DR.A. It's like people recognize abusing T1 could easily be the end of your own race as well!

I'm sure B/S would be cleaner if it was just full rooms of B/S. At least that was my experience after SR drops. At the lower end of SR.S, B/S rooms were more consistent and cleaner than at max SR.S. B/A cleaner still. B/B still often better than B/S. B/S you want to start near the front or risk getting part of the pinball chaos.

Of course I haven't tried GR.1 on Monza yet today. How does A/S handle the first chicance. I'll find out later today... Plus will Bathurst starting at the back go better in A/S... 2 great tests today to see if A/S is actually better behaved :)

I think there are lots more A/S drivers now, that's why the racing feels better than when you were B/S as it's easier to fill most of the lobby with A/S drivers.

As for Monza, I can say without hesitation that even at A/S people haven't learned how to behave on the first chicane yet - Bathurst is usually problem free unless you get caught midpack with idiots going down the hill.

I was B/S for quite awhile. I was 2/3 the way to an A driver rating and had some circumstances that screwed that up, not of my doing. I've accepted that I'm just not an A driver. I could probably get there, but being in a field of drivers that have similar talent is more fun than watching the S and A folks disappear into the distance. B/S seems to be where I fit in the best.

I'd go with this... I found the racing much worse in BS than BB where I am now. Yeah, you have the odd bump, but there is no intentional ramming

Was DR B for a long time and saw very little success, even when giving it my all on qualifying. It made me realise that perhaps the game thinks I'm worthy of that level but I know clearly I'm not so I have purposely dropped down to C and will happily go as low as D. My results have been loads better. Got a fantastic win the other night and having been SR S for quite some time now nearly always gives a clean race.

Do you watch replays of the top 10? I usually start off doing a few qualifying laps on a track until I'm comfortable that I am hitting my best time with the circuit and the car, then watch a top 10 replay, then do qualifying again and inevitably gain 1+ seconds on my previous times. I used to be a yoyo, bouncing between C and B, failing to achieve in B, then dropping again. But since I work more on qualifying I'm progressing every day and even getting poles and wins in DR B

It's inconsiquential to me as i struggle to be consistant one day to the other as i suffer from arthritis! This is why i concentrate a lot on liveries as its easier on the arms and gives a lot of satisfaction, theres always a reward for me seeing that finished job!

 flipping Chinese takeaway

Should have left it then microwaved it after :)

DR:A, I preferred being in DR:B though, purely for not having anything to lose. Now I'm feeling precious about DR:A and need to pick my races wisely.

I was the same, but I'm starting to settle into DR:A. I won't race for the sake of it though. I know my strong tracks and I know the tracks where people can turn their car into weapons.

I choose my races but I have more fun on tracks where people race properly and I'm on pace. If I raced at Bathurst yesterday, I know I would've ended the night frustrated so I left it well alone.

Gr4 at Maggiore (west I think) on Wednesday was sublime. Very clean, very fast and very fair (apart from just 1 or 2 idiots). DR:A SR:S is where I'm starting to feel at home.

DR D as I'm s-l-o-w. Somehow I got to C once, but realistically the bottom of D seems to be my level. Though being slow (and a tad careful) and cherry-picking which tracks means that keeping SR S isn't a problem.
