When you change gears...

A turbo blow-off -------- psssshhhhhhhh
-or-
A nice big bubbly V8 ------- blub blub blub blub

????

I like both.

But I really do enjoy the sound of the blow-off valve!
There are blow-off's in Japan that sound like babies whailing, how cool and sadistic, yet how annoying.

If you wanna become a boy-racer (old farts in goverments term for ricers) here in NZ you HAVE to have a blow-off valve and make sure its tuned so that when your accelerating its making a slight sssssssssssssss.

hmmmmmm

Well If I can read properly I'd say your a computer chair-ian

:P

Anyways, Kiwis are a lot different than Aussies...and Im not saying that in a joke way.

Now Now calm down

One more wise crack from you and Im taking my joke-book to Comedy Corner its got some good aussie ones in there

Man how did you guys start talking about 🤬 Sheep...Can we get back to the Subject?

Got to be a Blow Off Valve for me...sweet sound :note:

Let me just say this: For $30 you can buy a little electronic box with a speaker that makes that wimpy little "pssssht" sound.

You can't fake the sound of a tuned V8 for all the money in the world.

I have nothing against turbocharging itself, but nothing screams "riceboy" like some punka$$ wannabe who drives along in too low a gear blipping the throttle just so everybody can hear his BOV fart.

I hate poseurs.

 You could stand next a race track and record the V8 :note: neon_duke and then play it through your speakers

It's a matter of taste if you ask me? :smilewink

To be honest, while I like F1, I've never understood the like of any high pitched sound, whether from a turbo or open wheeler.

v8 or v12 rumbles are just more "manly"

don't like rattily idles either.

Why not have both? Twin turbo V8 (Audi's in particular). ;) A V8/V12 rumble is definitely more manly, and better expresses the impression of power. A BOV expresses the desire to have power under the hood. :P Then again, a V8 always impressed upon me the idea of sluggishness, of being slow to start, whilst a 4-pot turbo reeks of ninja-like reflexes, almost hyperactive. However, the actual performance of each engine may differ from the impression given....

No.

I've got nothing to brag about, my IQ is as low as 90 to as high as 137/138, probably 65 if tested properly.

No, just a manic with...issues. Okay, so I absorb just about everything I read (and I read a shedload), I have an irritating need to be "right" all the time, I get totally immersed in any hobby to the point of madness, and I look up anything I don't know. The web is a wonderous fountain of information...as long as you know how to wade through the disinformation.

As long as I'm dumping my entire personality: For the record? When I was 4, I tested at 154. Haven't been tested since. I'm sure ~20 years of video games and cartoons have dulled it somewhat. But keep in mind that IQ doesn't represent what you do know, but how fast you can learn, if at all. So technically your average car shop guy with IQ110 can know more than your average neurosurgeon with IQ170...about anything.

But I've only been into cars for 2 years. No joke.

This does not ease my feeling of inferiority. sob sob.

well, fortunately i have good reasoning skills. and am adept at screwball logic.

Have you heard F1 cars live? It's not a whiny noise. It will bring the hair up on the back of your neck - TV doesn't do them justice.
