Yup I agree with sean
I think they are the closest to a real drift tire

This is not true. Its hard to base tires from GT5 to real life drifting. If it was real life we would be using Sport hards. And still have the control and angle like CH's. But we dont :guilty:

Twinturbo reckons if it was real life the we would use comfort softs actually ;)

Vaughn uses Falken 615's. These are a street track tire. Tons of grip but okay in rain, which i would classify as sport hards.

How was that done?

I believe he took his GT5 setup to a drift track day and did a couple laps on the game, then hopped in his drift car and did a couple runs in that to compare. Dont hold me to this I'll try and find the thread where I think he mentioned it...

Comfort hard front and rear are 99% of the time way to go until you get up to the big boy cars like the speed 12 where comfort hard front and comfort soft rear is best.

He may use 615's but I know Vaughn I'm pretty sure he Shaves his tires as most Pro drifters do it. Also I do believe 615's are a Sport soft or Medium at the least. Like I used to try and tell you guys I've never ever seen a pro drifter use comfort tires outside of practicing.

Ive been to drift/autox and majority of them were on stretched all season tires. Not semi R-compounds like the "pro's".

I have no idea what "pro" drifters irl use. But online, I use C.Hards and everyone I've met who is serious about competition online use the same, C.Hards.

I dont know if any of you guys have been to a Formula D event but they use the same tires practice or comp. Falken Azenis 615 is what Vaugh uses to matter what. I believe the same for Dai

Falken Azenis 615's are sport tires, and he shaves the treads off to give a racing slick feel. Trust me I've been in Vaughns pit at D1.

Comfort hards all around, thats what I use on every single drift car I got. However, I also do think that a propper suspension setup is absolutely necessary in order to remain in control of the car while using those tyres. As well as the LSD and the tyres, suspension is one most important thing a drifter should take care of in preparation for drifting 👍

Online I use comfort hards. IRL I use either nitto nt555 or some cheap nexen 3000 andthis is for a stock sr s14 running 220hp

You mean stock sr20det, right? Or you managed to pump out 220 brakes from n/a sr20de? Had one of these in the past and wouldn't be suprised if they're capable of this much after a little tweaking :dopey:

*ed. note* all of the sudden this post seems pointless to me, as 'stock' says it all, sorry...

Well it's which tires do you use so everyone can write what they use.

I would say Comfort Mediums or Softs are the most realistic.

But due to fun factor and ease of tandemming, hards are what is used.

There is a reason drift cars usually have 600bhp+ :D .

There is a "Comfort Medium Revolution" in the making. After drifting Comfort Hards for more than a year, I tried Comfort Mediums and loved them. Got the same angle, held the same line, but was smoother & a bit faster obviously.

Here's the link to the revolution thread:

Just don't be afraid to try something new guys, I know some people are, I was kind of too, but I was really surprised after trying them.

Here's a Comfort Medium tandem picture of me & KYOKI-Asa, I'm the follow car.

People that voted NO on the poll revoted a YES after trying them out.
