Who Likes the Motion Blur?

The reason for blur during replays, and NOT gameplay, is: Gameplay simulates real life driving, which means you are using your eyes to look at the road. And normal eyes dont blur your sight when looking. In Replay you then watch a recording done in the same gameplay, and using a camera you get this blur. Thats why you wont get blur in gameplay, its not realistic......
Blur during gameplay would be more realistic (when you take in account that the view simulates the virtual drivers eye which is fixed to the road and opponents) than no blur!
When you drive in your car you usually look forward to the track or at other cars and everything else is blurred out because your eye focuses at the things you look at. Just take attention next time you drive a car that the motion blur in GT6 is pretty realistic because everything else you dont focus is blurred out by your eyes - the faster things go by the more it is blurred out.

Watching replays with in car view & motion blur on is great, & I agree 100% that we should have it when driving as well. However, there should be an option slider to turn the intensity up/down, & even off for those who don't like it. One problem with the motion blur is that it also blurs buildings & track side objects as you steer left & right. Those movements are slow to cause Motion blur in reality & needs to be fixed.

Having the motion blur on actually makes the graphics look better. Try doing Goodwood in the Stratos, then watch the replay with drivers view, awesome! :D

In my opinion the blur the happens when steering is realistic when it simulates that the driver is focusing on the the street for example in corner. Just checked it again, was driving in my car and in corners even things nearby the street at about 50 meters away are blurring because i focused at one point in the street!

Blurring the gameplay is not good because then you're forced to focus only on the non blurry part.

It's nice BUT worse than 60fps - by far.

In GT5 cockpit view, bumper cam, ... were 60fps during replays. In GT6 it's 30fps + motion blur.
Something I noticed immediately and I don't like it :(.

Yeah, I noticed that myself. Weird how that works, Doesn't make sense. Hopefully it'll get sorted out in the future with the updates.

Could have different intensities or blur Tree'd . Framrate seems fine during the replay.

That's because of the motion blur. Your eye does a perfect job of blurring motion, so what they should focus on is more frames per second, not fewer.

The replays are still running at 30 Hz, only now they stay 30 in all views, whereas before they switched to 60 in the interior views etc. The blur isn't perfect, because every now and then I can see the "jumps", and it hurts. :dopey:

What matters with a fast, reaction- and physics-based game like GT is interactivity, and a slight "slideshow" effect from a series of crisp, static images is less of an issue when playing than reduced reaction potential (awful TV latencies notwithstanding...) - assuming adding blur reduces framerate due to performance costs. The blur itself isn't the best quality, either, and I'd rather my eye did most of it.

More frames benefits everyone, every time. :)
An option would be fine, of course.

I liked the motion blur effect on the replays, it immerses you in the view and delivers a sense of speed. Would be nice to keep an option to enable / disable it. Not happy that it has been removed after the 1.02 patch.

Thank goodness the motion blur is gone.
It was awful, the frame rate was like 15fps or so..
And the blur was too much it was like we're warping inside the Enterprise.
Can't even watch car moving fast properly because of the blur and the low fps.

There seems to be a lot of division on this subject. Why can't we agree there should be the option to choose? I personally liked the lower fps, it had a much more cinematic look, but I totally understand why people don't like it as well. I can't say I'd want to drive that way, maybe toned down, but I do like watching the replays in that format.

I never got to see it since I went directly to v1.02. I guess it's just like with the vomit chase cam in GT5 Spec II. Some people liked it, some others hated it.
