Why don't we use SSRX???

Thats is one reason I like Indy... E-brake, smash the wall with your rear end and head on back.

One more reason I like Indy better is because you have a specific line/lane. Many times racing on SSRX, I would get smashed into by returning racers.

SSRX has a dedicated return lane on the right.

True, but it's narrow, Indy's return lane is 3 or 4 times as wide plus the racing lanes actually somewhat resemble a drag strip. it's still a more organized layout.

And at SSRX you get always the guys who decide to travel an extra mile just to screw around instead of returning to race someone else to help keep the flow going.

Never seen that happen once. Ironic, but only people now I see that run at SSRX are the honda guys. Guess I'll be tuning hondas then :(

SSRX was given its chance by everyone almost 2 years ago, maybe the new breed of draggers will adopt it.

Well our team has been running there for about 2 weeks now. No problem getting a decent number of people in the lobby and has made tuning faster. You can exit pits, do a quick test launch, and line up at the 600 mark and run to the 1000.
Yes 3+ ways start, but a quick kik usually deals with that. And of course the dum dums who turn around in the running lane, as mentioned a quick kik in the... deals with it for a while.
And after you kik someone it takes no time to get back in line.

Take note, if SSRX becomes the new norm in Honda lobbies you can thank R Spec Tunerz!

Yeah, I'm not trying to say SSRX is a bad place to run, I used to look for 600 -1000 m drags when it first appeared, then the novelty wore off for me and preferred Indy in the end. Even the straight beside the pits at Toscana is a good place to drag for a change.

Maybe when we get the track editor we can make a decent 1/4 mile straight with run off, and maybe even the "penalty start" option like we had in gt5 where you had to hold the brakes on whilst waiting for the 3,2,1 and a jump gets instantly penalized, that would solve ghost lag and flag lag and jumpers all in one, just a thought.

wait how was this done?

Hes talking about how a circuit race could be stared in gt5.
Even though I love the idea I see 2 flaws.

1. Unless you can get the grid out of stagerd mode the launch will be at least a car length apart.

2. The load/start time for each race will take a little longer. But this could be useful for tournaments or pinks. Watch the replay no more arguing.

Yeah if we can't change the staggered starts it clearly wouldn't work, and it would mean a bit of a wait between runs, but it would be good to have reaction time playing a bigger role than connection/controller setup etc being the big factor in who gets the tree, if we do get the option for side by side starts with the "false start penalty" we may finally be able to avoid the whole issue of flag lag and be able to tree evenly with anyone from anywhere assuming both ppl have a reasonable reaction time.

Way off topic post. I think my PSN has been hacked. I just happened to read my messages and read an entire conversation between a person on my friends list and someone I do not know. This was not in the chat room but my actual messages.

How do I report this person to sony. I dont mind hacking games but my account to get free stuff f that.

I HATE it when people say three wide makes the race lag. Are you retarded? Who started this nonsens?

I hope you know that the two cars up front are NOT the only cars launching when they do launch. There is a **** load of cars behind them in line ramming, doing donuts, cars leaving the pits, cars coming back the return lane at the SAME time the two cars launch.......so wtf makes you believe that one more moving car beside you will create lag? You non educated fools. Stop feeding a dead horse. That is a FALSE statement.

I've raced at the nurb with 16 cars fighting for position. No lag. 3 cars racing and room will lag out

yeah i could never figure that out

its 2 random cars out of how many cars are in the room

be it 2 or 6 drag racing wont make it lag less or more

I always felt like i was racing down an alley at indy, no room for error in the left lane.Quick access to the track,a better track surface and a marked course make ssrx a much better track.

SSRX has much better scenery IMO. Get around evening time and the sunset behind the mountains is quite beautiful.

but I dislike how there isn't any definative lines to race in...ssrx is just all over the place most of the time.

The SSRX drag track is the best track for 1/4 drag, because its just like the gt3 and gt4 days when the test track (SSRX) was only track for drag racing. Indy is a good track for FF cars and 1/8 mile drag.

1/8th mile is only 201 meters, Indy from start to the shadow is roughly 370 meters (measured by in-car-in-game odometers), approximately 30 meters short of a 1/4, close enough for most and people like the 2 dedicated lanes at Indy to race. Indy is just laid out more logically for drags. Since there is no real timing system most people don't care what distance they are racing.

If Indy is 30 meters short then thats a big deal, because 1meter equals 3.280 feet do the math Indy is 98.6 feet shorter than a 1/4 mile. Most Cars are about 15 feet long do the math that would mean its approximately 6 1/2 cars shorter.

we have done the math. Both mafia boy and I have both on seperate occasions done the math. His was about 4 months before mine and sure enough we got the same results you did. We just don't care in the end man. We just feel at home there.

Yep, it equates to Indy being roughly 7.5 % shorter, not enough for most people to care about the trade off between track/lane layout and the actual distance.

We beat this horse to death 2 years ago....see you at Indy :)
