Why is it yellow? (RATED PG)

OK, I think I've seen this before too. Weird, huh? I'll try and see if it does it for me, on Apricot Hill, then maybe other tracks...

I think it may have something to do with the split times, or a section of caution on the track or something... We'll see...

Do you remember seeing it in championship runs or maybe in practice or track events?
I'm still thinking it's related to AI cars and split times somehow..
