Why is no-one online?

^ That, and the lack of a proper lobby with chat and control of the proceedings.

Did a couple of races with Rom few nights ago, and the night before with other friend, and the chat-although not perfect- was acceptable...and we chatted a lot, You just to set a superior number of players to start than You have in the lobby(e.g. we were two I set to 3) and the clock won't start.👍

Plus the people who are racing in unranked private rooms with friends who race clean. 👍

It's probably the true reason...that and the fact that the game sold a lot less than the first delivery- which was a worst game all together paradoxically!

I had the game freeze twice in the lobby after voting for race start. And the races we managed to get started (me and friend in private room, GT3), the added AI is horrible, they act as If you don't exist (unlike off line). That's why I won't bother with S2U online anymore until they patch It. Popped in SCC and had a freaking good time online, nice clean and simple lobby with very good chat quality, took SSV8NC to experience on line racing AI is possible, with tyre wear and drying line.

I figured it out...

Quickmatch is separate, everytime I do it I get 6-7 people.

If I go to browse, there could be no rooms though...so yea, quickmatch doesnt just put you into a created room, it's separate from everything else thats why you don't see many rooms.

I imagine most of the casuals use quickmatch.

It's because the Browse option only checks for unranked lobby's, while the default option when creating a lobby is ranked. Think this is why there are not that many lobby's in the Browse list. Don't even get why it only searches for unranked anyway.

I've been trying to find someone for the King of the Hill trophy for the last week and there's one person every few days at best in the stage I require.

While waiting for someone to appear I sometimes check the game browser and the most games I've seen active at one time was 5. Managed to join some 3 or 4 in a row and it's nothing but a ram-fest. People (if we can even call those kids people) tend to think that they are playing Carmageddon. I can be next to someone, overtaking cleanly and EVERY SINGLE TIME that person thinks it's his duty to slam into me and ram me off the road. And the best thing is that they keep driving straight and I fly into the gravel.

Those few races were enough for me yesterday to say "no" to MP in this game forever.

It's pathetic for a racing game of this calibre. It's not an indy game, it's an EA game ffs and I absolutely can't understand why more people are not playing it online. But I guess that would only mean more rammers so we haven't lost anything anyway.

You re totally right. I tried the random online games yesterday for the first time and 90% of your opponents are pure ****eheads. During a group chase game, one of them didnt even try to win the race, he just waited for me to ram me - what the hell is that good for?!? And after I dodged his attack, he instantly went off... Sheesh!

Also the menus and the whole setup and the regulations are rather 1999.

So I take it as online race is only good with friends you know, like Zeekons Legends League.

well i think as has been previously mentioned in other threads , i think we should add each other , get in touch , go online , and have some proper racing , clean , no ramming , and decide in the lobby which assists (better to have none) are going to be used .

i have added quite a few people now , but none seem to be willing or able to set up something , its no use complaining on here about all the random d***heads ramming you off the track all the time :banghead:, if no-one is prepared to get together and get online :boggled:

I'm not bothered in the slightest if i come last every race , as long as its clean and fun . chances are i'd be somewhere around last anyway :nervous: so come on guys less moaning and more racing :gtpflag:

Feel free to add me. I am always willing to do some online races. My buddy just got this game and is getting up to speed so we have been having some fun online with AI and whatnot.

Add me too on PS3. I can't promise I'll play online regularly but might jump for an occasional race. I'm a fair driver and I never ram before you ask. PSN: cypher2004

As it says in the title. Whenever i'm on i check the online races and i get 1 or 2 rooms with about 2 or 3 people. I have the speedhunter dlc but not legends. Is it just that so many people play legends? Or does no-one go online because i remember on shift 1 there were alwyas at least 3 really full rooms and loads of smaller ones

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but could the lack on online be related to S2U being so good "offline"? I don't have a lot of time for gaming but the offline challenges and Autolog keep me busy - especially AutoLog. GT5 has a huge online following but I wonder what it was like soon after it's release. As soon as everyone got bored with the offline they turned to online for competition.

I never go online as the only rooms available are crammed full of thugs. Having my fun spoiled from the start by morons who can't race fair, especially in a game where the slightest push may send you spinning out, is a big turn-off. When I want online fun, my preference goes to GT5.

Or could it be related with being so crappy online?💡
Maybe people are just scared to find these guys:

Language warning!!!

The crappy colision model doesn't help but online mode it's a complete chaos and destruction derby.
Another thing: One can enforce the cam other people are using but not the assists?!👎

That video explains why no one seems to be online. I sure as hell wouldn't want to race with them.

For all the people that want to go online but dont want to meet idiots....well there are plenty of people ON THIS POST, as well as leagues and whatnot...why not friend them? Problem solved!

I dont do random online. I will only play with people on my friends list...and I dont have many.

Well after some nights of frustration- joining lobbies where everyone tries to do other cars targets, quitting when loosing,etc- finally last night I came across something I would not expect in S2U, a clean-and FAST:tup:- racer in a random online lobby!
When I joined, this guy-American- which was the host of a GT3 class,5 lapper lobby( :) ), had two more guys with him.
First Corner I was expecting the usual chaos...but nothing, no crashes, no late breaking....excellent.
I came first, albeit he did the fastest lap.
Back two the lobby other guys quickly left, he selects Spa-I think I'm in heaven- two more random guys join and off we go...
I started first, he started last.
After a couple of laps I realize he is quickly eating the gap between us- 4 secs, 3 secs, 2secs:scared:- so I realize I have to push harder...two amazing last laps with him breathing down my neck.👍
Race ends-other guys that were left ,in a 5 lap race, 30 odd secs behind- leave and after waiting for others we start a race @ Silverstone GP (and I'm thinking: wow this guy is like me, likes the same cars and tracks:tup: ).
First corner he backs off, I take the lead and the pursuit starts...
One can really tell when the guy behind You is faster than You but gives You room no to ram You when breaking to corners...but the collision model sucks and lag is also a problem so eventually I break too soon and he spuns me out...and surprisingly-remember public lobby, guy doesn't know me and probably will never see me again- he waits and lets me take the lead.:)
By this time I'm thinking: Wow fast and clean, great racer!
He won that one and we start exchanging messages apologising for mistakes and congratulating each other and...BAM...damn thing freezes on me.:grumpy:
Reboot, re-load the game...
Then I friended him and explained I've waited for his invite, invited a few more fellas- also very fast- and had one or two more excellent races.
There is hope in public random online racing, in S2U after all!:dopey:

That guy was awesome! Lwrider was the name? On Brno he bumped me a bit, and I spun off on the 3rd lap, then he pulls over and gives me spot back. Yeah...you expect that with the guys here, but NOT on a public race. I was just as amazed.

Still cant figure out why nobody could hear me. I was talking alot....

Yep I added him!👍
I could hear You clearly at first..I even turned my mic on to talk a little to You and was wondering why the hell You didn't answered me!
I guess coms aren't perfect with an ocean between us( I get 300;400 sometimes more ping values with American racers).

I mainly do GT3/GT1, as everyone justs a buggatti/similar otherwise. Anyone know of other classes/cars that can have close races like when using GT3/1.

D classes, and C classes, and to some degeree B classes. I find those the most fun as well. A classes have such a huge range in PI that unless you specify a PI everyone will go with the largest (works lambo, work Apollo, etc.).

Class C is very competitive and there are several cars-depending on the tracks- more or less even.
