Why so few F1 tracks in GT4?

Scaff
The Nordschleife is the old North Ring track at the Nurburgring and will feature in GT4, the current F1 GP track was built after safety concerns and deaths saw the removal of the old circuit from the F1 calender.

Nordschleife = 1927 - current. Length 13 miles

Nurburgring GP = 1984 - current. Length 2.8 miles

To confuse matter some races use both the Nordschleife and GP track to create a 18.7 mile circuit

Follow this link and select Nurburgring to see more details and the various circiut layouts over the years.

Thanks for clearing that up and thanks to Kensei as well - looking forward to racing on this circuit should be a real challenge.

Forgot about Interlagos. Really fun track, that.

And if PD were doing the F1 titles, the newest installment would probably still have Arrows. With their history of delays, I think giving them a title that requires yearly refreshing is not a good plan.

dude, prost would still be goin round

In Gt4 I have already gotten more than I asked for; if impression is right.

I`d die to try the Green Hell (Nurb) with a Lotus 49, feeling Jimmy Clarke. :)

I`d die to drive around Fuji in a JPS-Lotus 79 :dopey:

I`d love to drive around Monaco in a Bugatti early thirties 👍

And not to mention BAR 003 round Suzuka 💡

The F1 official game(s) are crap, but Spa rules even there: I still enjoy the Gt3-002 at Laguna Seca, 33laps.
And open wheelers are cars too.

Silverstone would have been a nice addition. It would have been one of the only times you could go there without worrying about getting your car out afterwards!

I personally don't think the new generation of F1 tracks are anything that get me excited but having some more real life tracks would be great for me. When they said they'd include some real life European tracks I was hoping they'd be a few more than just the Nurburgring so far. Maybe there might be, but Europe does have some amazing tracks. I'd love to see something like, Brands Hatch GP circuit (someone mentioned Dingle Dell, tha'd be imense- I mean they ran group C's there how can you miss it out), Zandvort (a legendary track, I'd love to go there), Spa is a must, Monza, Silverstone, Jerez (they use it a lot in GT's), Donnington and maybe even Goodwood for the old cars (it would be a real proper challenge if they got the physics right with the old cars). I'm a big fan of some of the fantasy tracks, like Grand Valley, but I do confess, I find some of the street tracks a bit hard to swollow. Like it really tits me off with tracks like Seattle with the jumps. Yes they're fun, but if it was the real driving simulator you'd have to slow down for the jumps otherwise the bottom of your car would fall out everytime you jumped theml.

 :irked: too true. Plus I don't think the GT4 rain effects would be anywhere near enough to cope with the realistic amount of rain we'd get. Everytime you'd enter a race at Silverstone in GT4 it would get called off with rain.

Silverstone would be great - i'm quite familiar with a couple of the gravel traps there! :grumpy:

:sly: Indeed. Then they would need to add the 'Splash' car boat, just so that you could complete a lap!

I think the short version they use for the tourers looks pretty tricky. The corner at the bottom of the back straight, the BTCC boys always mess it up. Although I would like the Old 1980's version of it as well.

Actually, Croft and Knockhill would be a nice little additions. *Turns on TOCA touring cars*.

Bugatti still uncofirmed.

All the beauties from thirties too.

Would care for Auto Union, Mercedes-Benz, Alfa, Bentley and Masseratti.

Richard Seaman in Merc on Nurb, famous victory of British driver in German car on German GP in 1938., merely a year before Hitler unleashed the Nazi war machine over Europe. No matter of Seaman being almost forgoten by the history (Brits could never forgive him driving for German team), that victory was something big in that times.

And just imagine Nurb in 1938. with safety mesures of that time. Real Hell.

12 days untill knowledge.
