Why Trial Mountain, Grand Valley, and Deep Forest Aren't in GT Sport (Yet)

I actually quite liked Sierra

I have read the whole thread and several people seem to think alike. Obviously Kaz also stumbled across the idea that the classic fictional tracks need to be reworked in order to make them look authentic. Long before GT Sport was released I also thought that they need an overhaul because it was just odd for me to see e.g. GT500 race on circuits with natural barriers and zero run-off areas.

So back in 2015 I have started working on a modernized version of Trial Mountain. Because I really suck at drawing I used SketchUp to visualize my ideas.

As you can see I didn't alter the layout. I tried to replicate the circuits elevation changes as close as possible because the combination of them and the actual layout is what makes it special.

The game version of turn 1 doesn't have any run-off at all although it is a pretty fast and demanding corner. Therefore I added a small strip of asphalt after the grass in order to allow the driver to catch the vehicle before it slips into the gravel trap. The pit exit has also been altered because cars leaving the pit in the game version are going straight into the driving line for turn 1.

The Tunnel in turn 4 has been ditched by me because you arrive at pretty high speed after the fast left-hand kink which is turn 3 and subsequently run-off is needed which is impossible/totally unrealistic if you have a tunnel.

I have also revised the pit entry and the final chicane to make the pit more spacious and to provide a more safe final turn. I haven't touched the montaneous part of the circuit yet.

Edit: Maybe we need a seperate thread to discuss needed changes for this and other original circuits and to make side by side comparisons.
Have you tried the possibility of Trial Moutain and Deep Forest being connected?

Just as we talk about SSR5 and SSR11 can be connected, I also read that TM and DF can be connected. It will be?

The whole "tracks need to look more race friendly" is BS when you have FIA races hosted on the Tokyo C1 loop. I mean Trial Mountain and Deep Forest are actually even better suited as there's enough room to put some metal or even SAFER barriers on the tiny grass patches between the track and mountains.

What do you guys think Kaz will do?

Will it create a new terrain and scenery to accommodate the circuits of the Holy Trinity?

A terrain and scenery similar to Lake Maggiore, without stone walls, without tunnels?
Even if it was a workaround for the PS1/PS2, I miss this kind of tracks. Tunnels, bridges and stone walls make the scenery more diverse. Just look at the Kyoto track: there is no change in the scenery along the track.

They need to bring back Sierra, I think it would really benefit from a visual upgrade(the track in GT6 looks great but the blurry textures kinda hamper's the way it looks, IMO). The track itself is just great as well. I remember doing super laps for seasonal events on the track, and at one point an online race. I remember having so much fun while doing so.

They should also bring back Tokyo R246, that track was ace.

I would trade all the new Tokyo tracks for R246.

Edging towards 6 months since release, there's little excuse not to have a handful of classic GT tracks, Spa, Silverstone or Le Mans in the game by the end of March.

It's frustrating just how little the GT community engages with Kaz and the official GT Twitter accounts. There should be a wall of noise online clamouring for these tracks on Twitter.......but we just have a handful of posts on GTPlanet. A site they probably rarely look at.

Sierra is one of my favorite tracks in GT6. Just about the same length as the Ring but with a faster pace and a much wider tarmac. I'm definitely with you on bringing this track back.

Guys, I think the end of the GT6 servers will bring the Holy Trinity to GTS later this month.

Or Midfield and Apricot, since they were added recently in GT6. Suppose, then, that you should have a more current version for GTS.

It's just a feeling.

loved that track. I miss it dearly

The grand tours ebola drome would make for an interesting track to race on, It'll never happen i know but one can dream.
I don't find the track interesting in The Grand Tour, so would be in no rush to have it in game. I like Top Gear, but didn't really use their track that much in the previous game after the initial novelty value.

The amount of money they have made just through sales of the game, nevermind Sony subscriptions, they have little excuse for the low number of tracks (and cars) imho.

I know they had to keep some stuff back to give out as DLC, but that is a lot of stuff to keep back. ;) :(

What's a bit amazing to me is that they replaced all the Special Stage Route "N" tracks with that Tokyo Wangan Highway nonsense.

Surely they knew that these high speed two lane hwys arent actually any fun especially in comparison to how well liked the old Tokyo city tracks in GT6 etc.

What an awesome course it would be, if combined. R246 with all the connecting Expressways.
