This demo is what GT5 shouldve been.

GT6 is going to be dissapointing. Im afraid to admit..im not interested. Might buy it out of boredom. Will wait for GT on ps4.

Why pd thinks we'll spend more money for a game we already have is crazy.
Spent soo much on dlc and paint and whatnot.

To me, this demo is an updates worth of change on GT5. Dissapointing. I mean gameplay and graphics are slightly better, but its just not a new game..

I want to see what the rest of the community thinks.

No, I wouldn't buy GT6 based on the demo. I will wait for the full game to decide that, but my hopes are not too high as most GT games have been pretty much identical to the demo.

No; As much fun as hotlapping is (with the updated graphics and physics), if you see the AI in this demo, and the fact that races seem to consist of the chase the rabbit formula again, this game is not worth the 60 bucks clear and simple.

No, due to physics. And being on PS3, which contributes to the first thing.

Strange you say that, as physics is about the only thing keeping me interested. It still seems like the same engine just tweaked a bit, but it's much better than GT5.

If it has Gran Turismo on the cover I buy it. It's just not only a game for me, but a lifestyle since the first GT. No other racing game delivers the feel of Gran Turismo, even if it lacks some features that other games have in abundance. Many racing games come and go in my game library, but the only one that endures for months and years is Gran Turismo.

It might have its negatives, but unlike any other console racing game, Gran Turismo still IS and ALWAYS will be the benchmark. Simple as that.

I can't believe people are judging GT6 so negatively based on this little demo. I don't think it will change that much in the release version, but hey, it's still the best console racing game to my eyes.

It is an improvement, but it's still behind other sims which is the issue. I was not expecting it to be the best on the market, but the demo did not meet my expectation.

I see, it was actually better than I expected, but in fairness I wasn't expecting much. I was surprised it even felt different at all. I agree it's barely passable though and it has a lot of other things going against it, that makes it seem like it's going to be the same weird PD decisions ruining the game again.

+1, same thinkings here.

And unfortunately I'm starting to feel all the hate tide again around... maybe it's time to keep out from the forums a bit. A shame, people really love to focus on the bad stuff ONLY.

Either you always play online then, or you need to change that to "best console hotlapping game" really ;)

Because the bad stuff is too prominent as these flaws are dating back to PS1 in a current gen game, which is not acceptable for many folk myself included.

I won't be.

Going by the demo we have the only way to go fast is to drive like you are in Tokyo drift
Now that you say it; i was following the ghost of the best belgian time (2nd overall currently), and i get the feeling the guy seems to drift his way through the corners a lot. In real life oversteer would destroy your laptime...

Same here. Just something about the game feels right where others don't. Not even sure quite what it is.
I will buy it and every bit of DLC...even the stuff I don't really have a interest in on the chance I might like something unexpected.
Plus I hate seeing locked content in my game! :)
100+ new cars and however many new tracks it turns out being is easily worth the 60 to me.

Being a Gran Turismo player since the first one, most of us know the usual problems and what must be fixed. The thing is: some folks are just analyzing it based on the bad stuff. It's pretty common lately, and it's getting really annoying, because it's a demo, not even the final game and people are already hating. Sometimes it's on purpose just to cause controversy, etc. Some threads just become an instant hate playground, making the experience unbearable for some when reading. If you like anything on the GT6 demo, for example and you come here to read about it, in 10 minutes you get depressed by the ammount of "salt" around.

Sorry, but I just needed to write this. Thank god for the ignore lists.

It's not hate. I'm not trying to insult anyone, but the people tearing the game apart in my mind have more respect for GT than those who would buy GT just because. After all, the latter obviously doesn't care about quality if that's the case.

I always play online, GT needs tons of improvement there too. GT is as much an online game as Tetris with a MP mode slapped on. Though I will say that GT5 was a massive improvement over GT5P in this area.

The demo is supposed to represent the game. It's supposed to make you think the final will be good. It's failed in some areas. The tire model is so close to GT5's that I'm left wondering which model is actually in the demo.

I also don't see people focusing on just the bad stuff. They don't need to go out of their way to list a positive for every negative they see, especially if those negatives are too big to ignore.

If there is any unjustified criticisms I've seen, it's those laced with assumptions and made with impatience. The GT6 demo should have squashed a good number of those, but apparently has not.

Yep, but like I said, some people really do valid critics in the points that really must get improved. Of course, I do want GT to be the best game around. Of course, I wanted these improvements to be made. I'm just talking about the way things are put in the table sometimes.

I feel people were setting their expectations too high for this demo. It's GTA demo powered by GT6, not a complete GT6 demo. What else did you expect? I'm curious.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know why people still think like this; it's a very small taste of what's actually coming. We've seen the HUD, physics, GUI, and other small things, but nothing else.

I won't be buying GT6 because of this demo, but I will be buying the game because of Gran Turismo 6. The demo has nothing on what the finalized product may have to offer.

My only real concern is of frame rate issues. Adding 15 other cars, weather and day/night cycle has me nervous for final release.

I do feel the poll is redundant however. It's just to early to call it either way. Although probably people who said they will buy it based of this, would purchase anyway.

Those who have written it off will buy if it improves. I haven't voted. I will wait to see reviews and respected opinions.

Having a PS3 and a wheel almost guarantees a purchase for me as long as wheel support is good. Which this is, so ill probably commit unless its totally shocking.

I'm also a GT player since 97'; when the years passed i got more and more fustrated that nothing was done to the AI and the sounds, and on top of that the race formula got destroyed (meaning the silent death of qualifying RIP, and the chase the rabbit formula which only serves to hide the horrible AI and the lack of a challenge).

Yes i'm mostly a offline player trying to enjoy my offline races, and in my case the bullet is the hardest to bite. So in the end i switched to the competition where i did find exciting races, good sounds and customization options. I still miss the GT days tough, hoping that PD will up their game for god's sake and i can return to my first love one day ;)

I agree with every word here. But I don't know, I'm feeling good about GT6... let's see what happens. Most of the stuff I saw @ the latest presentations and the demo already made me happy... I really wish they can deliver a better AI and at least a bit better sounds... I know your feelings about the single player career because I've always enjoyed it a lot in GT games, and GT5 lacks in this area. But I'm confident for GT6. The second game in the same console is always bigger. Let's hope the trend continues.

Sorry, but with the way things have been for GT lately, I think you are putting it on a higher pedistal than it deserves. GT6 has a lot to prove in my opinion.

Don't you get it? Of course it can be both!

You don't really get it, do you? Let me rephrase it so you can understand what I'm trying to say, because it's obvious some people have a hard time grasping the ideas of my posts:

The Demo had very little to show, regarding features. People are judging the demo by the little things they've seen. Little details such as graphics, sounds, physics and they even go as far as saying that the game offers very little when it's just nothing more than a tiny demo.

What I meant to say was that regarding the things we've seen in the demo, I don't think the final version will change that much, however, things we've not seen such as the final car list, the customization that Kazunori talked about and other features. That's what will bring the biggest changes to the game.

And drop the attitude. You don't gain respect by being so cynical. I don't care who you are.

Sorry, but that's my opinion, whether you think it's valid or not. Your expectations are too high for a current gen game, and that I think it's the problem.

No. I don't play online. An yes, I spend most of my time hot lapping. I do agree the A.I needs some serious overhaul.
