You've piqued my curiosity sir. This eye injury you speak of while being inebriated... go to have a swig out of a bottle & miss did we?Done. I use my pad only when i can only use one eye. Self inflicted alchohol injuries...
I think I have space to use a wheel but I don't have space to store a wheel if that makes any sense. But I agree the dualsense ain't too bad for racingIt will be the Dualsense for me, I don't have the space for a wheel and stuff. Besides I feel that a controller isn't half bad.
It is 👍I would love to use a wheel for it preferably. I currently have a T150 but I'm not too sure if it will be compatible with the ps5 version of gt7 as it was made for the ps4 system.
It's almost like voting doesn't require that you also post.Interesting. As of right now, more people voted wheel (15 vs 13), but in the comments, the overwhelming majority says gamepad?
Give it a rough couple of weeks to get used to playing with a wheel. It's very different when you don't got steering assist via gamepad, so you can't just jam the steering input to the left or right when entering a corner and expect the car to behave nicely - it will either understeer or oversteer to hell with a wheel. In the beginning you'll probably be slower with a wheel because of this, but after getting accustomed you should be able to be more consistent, faster, and involved in less incidents with other players online.I've only played with a pad so far but ordered the GT DD Pro for this, ACC, F1 and Dirt Rally. I chose both, but I will only really know then I get the wheel.
Solid advice! I find trail braking and half throttling on the controller pretty difficult and I hope this will be easier with pedals. Also reacting to just visual input is not something I can do well at all. I think the Dualsense will help with these in GT7. Anyway I'm not trying to be the fastest, just to have a good time.Give it a rough couple of weeks to get used to playing with a wheel. To be able to know how much to steer and how fast, and how much to twitch to the other side to counter-steer, you need good FFB settings. Follow Fanatecs recommendations on their forum. When the wheel is heavy, you got grip - when the wheel is light, you lost grip - when it goes light and rattling, you're severely understeering. That's about it. It's super intuitive when you get used to it, and it enables you to react to everything much quicker than by using visual input.
With bad FFB settings, everything is either light or heavy, with no detail or dynamic range - you have no or very little idea about grip level.
This applies to GTS, which is probably very similar or identical to GT7. I haven't bothered with other games.
Agree on the motion controls! I was sceptical at first but gave it a go and was honestly pretty blown away. I thought it was going to be shoddy and unresponsive (like most games with motion control features), but it ended up being the exact opposite.Personally, a wheel. Although I think GTS's FFB left a lot to be desired. I sincerely hope they've 1) tweaked the FFB (particular surface feel and FF car response) and 2) actually offer decent FoV flexibility this time (as it definitely affects wheel user experience).
Fwiw, I played GT Sport with the controller motion controls in its first year or so at release, and I still maintain it was brilliant...best example I've seen of it on PS4. Sadly though it was massively underrepresented by PD as they clearly put some effort into it but barely communicated the ability....but I would imagine in combination with the Dualsense haptics etc on PS5, you would have a bloody good representation of driving experience with the controller alone. Hope it returns for GT7.
