No missions, but I did try my hand at some ?s way above my level. Tend to grow impatient on some of them, however.Anyone else finish missions way above their level?
Not every quest. There's a bunch that don't. Basically, quests only give you any XP if the level recommendation is at most five levels below your own. Any lower than that and they get greyed out, meaning they don't net you any XP. Quests not tied to fighting, it seems, are greyed out by default - like the Gwent quests, for example.Hmmmm, I do recall a few quests where no xp was given. Should every quest give xp?
That's normal. The XP requirement to level up doesn't rise that quickly and most side quests don't get you a lot of XP. The biggest chunk of your XP will come from the main quests. And don't worry, the bug doesn't lower the amount of XP a quest awards, it negates the XP completely. If you get Xp for a quest, regardless of the amount, you're good 👍I haven't experienced it, but I only received 250 exp for that Level 23 Contract. I expected more. Over an hour of hacking, healing, and repairing.
Let's see, "hot blonde" would be "attractive" yes?
Level 13 and have been chipping away at a couple level 23 Royal Wyvern's for the past half hour. He down, one to go. Yikes.

I think I saw those while doing some exploration and hoofed it the other way.
No longer accidentatlly igniting candles! Yay
The XP bug is also going to get fixed in 1.05. CDPR is doing some good work, fixing whatever issue is creeping up post release. Rockstar, PD, most everyone, take note!
Well I'm glad of the patch and like you @Pako , the candles on chests etc will be a welcome fix.
As for the game I wonder if larger and dedlier enemies which are at the end of quests (inc side quests) level up with you.
I picked up a witcher contract "Jenny Of The Woods" and they dont have a sugested level you need to be at, (some show in red) but this didn't. I'm Lvl 10 and full witcher gear with specter oil etc andfound the battle very tricky.
Umm maybe someone here can help me, I'm nearly stuck, not sure what to do lol.
So is there any way to retrieve some life maybe at least ? Or do I have to load a save before this and go once I'm a bit stronger ?I'm level 6 and I did the quest with the witch looking for Ciri. She told me about a sorcerer with a mask. We proceed to a cave where you search for that sorcerer that guide Ciri with signs. Once you find the signs labyrinth there's a golem you have to kill, which I did but then you fight the one of the icy guys (not sure how they are called in english since I play in french), here comes my problem, I dont have any life left or barely and no food left after the exploring of the poison area.

I didnt use meditation yet, guess i need to learn a bit about it ^^
Thanks guys
Same here. I'm just over 40 hours in and I've still to venture into Novigrad. I've got like 35 question marks left to uncover in VelenWow, had no idea..... 42.5 hours of game play and only level 13. Really? 42 hours? Doesn't feel like it. Kudos to any game that can keep my attention past 20 hours any more.
Opponents don't level with you, not even the Witcher Contract ones... it's just that some creatures are naturally difficult. Personally, I hate Wraiths of all kinds. They force you to use Yrden or the Moon Dust bomb to even hit them properly - limits your options quite a bit (I tend to use Quen for defense - I'm SOL if I have to spend my stamina otherwise... ) and their move set can be quite nasty. Teleporting around and taking double swings at you and whatnot. Yuk.As for the game I wonder if larger and dedlier enemies which are at the end of quests (inc side quests) level up with you.

I just quicksave and bum rush stuff If it goes wrong, I load and prepare. No problem. Happy to help.
My personal tactic before boss fights or bandit camps is.
1. Arrive at desired location
2. Meditate 2 hours (Heath goes up and oils etc restock)
3. Oil sword and make sure all bombs/potions/special items and signs are sorted out and equipped.
4. Save game
This way, if you die you can just reload and everything is set up before you have another try and you don't have to spend any more time and get on with kicking ass and taking names.
I find Axii useful for stunning single opponents. Aard for crumbling walls, against shield bearers and to put fires out. Igni... Well, to take down bee hives to harvest honey combs They're going to be more useful if you're investing skill points into that tree. The 2 most useful signs for me have been Yrden and Quen so far. I didn't really use the other ones so much. Once in a while Aard comes in handy. Did anybody else find the same or make use of the other signs?
In Witcher 2, I think I did more hack n slash mixed with Igni.
Seems like the patch will go live on Tuesday, maybe even Wednesday. Oh well, another day or two of dodging candles ain't gonna kill nobody

I'd rather fight a level 15 Wyvern than a level 12 Noonwraith, honestly
I was doing the Red Baron quest and one segment of it requires you to face three or so waves of Wraiths. One of the most annoying set of battles for me. Seems like you have to know where every Wraith is so when they teleport you can dodge away once they reappear. Setting Yrden seems to help too since it slows 'em down.

Funny that Kotaku thinks playing on Easy is better than playing on Hard..

Yeah... I hated that fight. Won against a level 20 Royal Wyvern just now - easy compared to some wraiths around my own level. Just dodge and slash, dodge and slash, dodge and slashI defeated the Jenny o' the Woods some time ago, and it was pretty annoying. Wraiths in general are pretty annoying too. That's what they wrote:Funny that Kotaku thinks playing on Easy is better than playing on Hard..
Seems to me like they've yet to find the B-button on their game pad or map the dodge button on their keyboard - I can cancel my attack animation into a sidestep or a roll just fine Also, every other sign or bomb might just help out - but, yeah, let'em set the difficulty to easy and whine a little - that's bound to be less of a hassle than to actually come to grips with the game's mechanics, right? The result is a game that locks you into long swing animations against your will. Geralt comes from the school of twirling his sword around like a helicopter while running at the enemy. Mind you, this comes after the beginning scene when he criticises Ciri for being too showy.
The system doesn’t give you the tools you need to solve combat problems like an enemy lunging at you. I see the enemy coming, I know what I’d like to do, but I also know if I press that button, my attack will be interrupted.
Just a littleyou mad bro. I have to be prepared or I'd be a wreck after an hour or two of gaming.

That works well enough, as does relentlessly assaulting them until they run out of stamina... But it's best to parry them and slice them apart afterwards, thoughGood to know. I just rolled and stabbed them in the back.
Has anyone found the keys for the chest and the windmill for the dessert gold quest???
Ohhhh yeah!I really do miss this game when I can't sit down with it.
