Wordle 240 4/6

⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛

3rd word was one of those 'that would be ridiculous, but it might just be right' guesses that turned out to be ridiculous, but it did set me up for a certain 4.

Interesting that most people struck out on the first attempt as well.

This one really threw me off. Had to do a lot of hard adjusting and digging to single out whatever I could, as seen in my 4th and 5th lines. It's hard for me to get out of the mindset of not cosidering repeat letters.

They must've been reading this thread.

I screwed up the 5th guess, but all of these were pretty much elimination guesses. It might've went a bit different if I didn't check this thread, probably worse.

I love Wordle because it reminds me of a favourite boardgame, 'Mastermind' (aka Master Mind), but we had a house rule of no doubles, as that was considered by all to be the work of Satan - which coincidently is a 5-letter word with a double in it. I rest my case.

So this time I was able to drop my issue as mentioned in yesterday's word, but unfortunately it was the wrong letter I applied it to with my third line.

I tried a new starting word and realized that if I had used my normal one I would have had the same opening.

I started on the wrong continent.

I'm too much of a Geography nerd for Worldle, everything I have done is correct at first glance. How does it help you narrow it down if you get it wrong?

An arrow pointing in the direction with the mileage away.

To increase the difficulty you can play Worldle without a map or with the map rotated.

Never played Wordle but I tried today's Worldle and got it in four.

It seems like a very forced fit to go from Wordle to Worldle. We've all played the hot/cold game before.

I don't recall how other sites have handled distances (centre of country or nearest point), but the example given that Canada and the US would give a distance of 2230km makes the game silly. IMO, it should be nearest point, making countries with a shared border 0km apart.

France counts its overseas possessions as integral territory so France and Brazil would be 0km too.

There's no single way to sort it out when it comes to countries. Capitals or borders, I can see both sides.

France breaks most geography games.

I had a good starting combo there. After the two first guesses there weren’t many possibilities left.

2-1 streak so far for me.
