Pool A has concluded all of its games while Pool B finishes tomorrow.

Cuba and Italy advance from Pool A following a 5 team tiebreaker. The Netherlands, Panama and Taiwan/Chinese Taipei have been eliminated.

Japan has won Pool B and will face Italy in the knockout round. Australia, Czech Republic and Korea are still alive. China has been eliminated. If Australia wins tonight, they will play Cuba in the knockout round. If Australia loses, then a two team tiebreaker rule will at least be in effect. If Korea defeats China, it will be a 3 team tiebreaker.

All congratulations to your 2023 World Baseball Classic winners... JAPAN! Japan won 3-2 over the United States. While I did not see a lot of the game, most of the talk was about Shohei Ohtani pitching against Mike Trout- two LA Angels. Anyhow... this is the 3rd WBC title for Japan.
