World's BEST supercar?

Um, I know so many people are going to say this, but I just have to agree... the McLaren F1, and for good reasons; it's an amazing combination of "fastness" and practicality unheard of in any other supercar. Even though it's status as fastest production car is sometimes debated, it's at least in the top 5, which is more than good enough. Now, combine that with room for 3 seats, and the ability to be tractable in daily traffic, and you've got quite a car.

This is why I'm somewhat skeptical about the Veyron... sure, it may trump the McLaren in the top speed test, but how practical would it be? Yes, supercars aren't built to be practical, but the McLaren has simply reached into an area that will be very hard for other manufacturers to... overcome...

Indeed the McLaren can be driven everyday. But it doesn't have a radio, nor does it have Air Condition. Also i think the Veyron would be fairly pratical. Interior would dominate over the McLarens, I do like McLarens middle seat arrangment, but I think that is not pratical in some ways. For Instance They should of made it 4 seats, they had room. And they could of built both left hand and right hand drive.

The best supercar would be the 2002 Lingenfelter corvette. With 0-60mph in under 2 sec this thing is a beast. And top speed of 240mph (est from Motor Trend) it hits up there in the top 10 atleast.

I really, really like the Pagani Zonda C12S and think it is one of the most beautiful cars ever produced. It is also said to be superbly made, fast and well handled. The Veyron could very well be too quick for its own good while the Mclaren F1 is said to be very skittish on the limit, it also isn't particualrly stunning.

I agree with you that the Zonda is a looker. But how can u say the McLaren isn't stunning. I think its magnificiant. the lowtech c1000 looks alright, resembles the zonda in many ways and has top speed like no tomorow.

The McLaren F1 just seems too fuctional. I know it was designed to be the ultimate road car but there just isn't really that much flair in the looks department IMO. Obviously I would croos the road to look if I saw one in the street and it does look good, just not stunning. Same story with the 550M and 575M.

Actually, the McLaren DOES have air conditioning. In fact, it's the lightest unit in the world. True, it doesn't have a radio, but it does have the awesome Kenwood 10-disc CD changer with true sterophonic sound.

P.S It also has an awesome windshield defroster :)

Thats pretty sad that you would do that. That guy gives us street car peeps a real bad name. My car club is gunna love that

But for real ... the Bugatti Veyron is bad ass. We've mentioned it a few times before on GTPlanet.

Here is a picture of the 2002 production model.

1001 by the European measurements, 987 (? I'm going off of memory here...) by the American measurements...

Those numbers seem about right. I wish everyone could just go to the metric system. It makes so much more sense!
