Worse GT Moment

so heres my two worst "events" in GT3 & GT4:

In GT3 I was in some edurance race (i cant remember which) and leading by quite a fair margin so i stoppped checking how far behind 2nd place was and was completely knackered (it was about 4am at this time). Suddenly the whole pack comes roaring past me at what seems like the speed of light at which point i realise that, since my thumb had began to ache hours ago, i wasnt pressing the accelerator fully and i was pretty much running at half speed. Just shows that when you are tired you really do have no idea whats going on...

The worst moment in GT4 ocurred in the Dream Car Championship. I was using the XJ220 race car and i had won a few, came 2nd in a few etc so its the last race of the champoinship at Monaco and im 3pts ahead so I figure I need to win the race to win the champoinship. I qualify 1st and set off racing. The last lap of the race im about 2s in front of 2nd but my tyres are screwed but it being monaco im confident i can keep the GT-R concept car behind me. HOW WRONG WAS I!? The *****r passed me on the last corner of the last race and won the champoinship by 1pt!!!
Nothing quite like loosing by 1pt to make your blood boil really fast!! :ouch:

Was driving in an enduro in GT3, in the lead with the Nissan R390 on my ass and the Toyota GT2 right behind it. I was drving the Mazda 787B with 900+Hp. The cars behind had about 1000+. My tyres were pretty messed up and at the last corner, after having lost so much time 2 the R390, i spun out coz my rears were gone and only recovered after both the 390 and the GT2 had passed me.

Digging up old threads again I see ...

My worst moment in GT3 was the struggle to finish the Zonda group of races. I just hated them to no end. Such horrible cars. So many times I was leading on the final lap and skipped off into a corner somewhere to watch the entire field pass me by.

Yeah man, havent posted here 4 a while so jst posting in whatever i can find. Man i feel what u saying bout the Zondas. I didn't have the race car when i raced in that cup so had 2 use the road car, which handles like a damn tractor, major understreer (just like my 295HP Yaris, hahaha) and with 1000HP+, it jst made it worse.

Monaco enduro, 76th lap. I have a slim lead. I'm using an underpowered car to make it a challenge, and thats what the race turns out to be. I hear some barking then my carruns into the room and pulls out the cord on my controller. I fumble with it a bit as my dog runs by and finally get it in after the 2nd place car had passed me. I was about 5 seconds behind. I only made up 3 seconds pushing as hard as I could. Damn underpowered car, damn cat, damn dog. I did it again though, but not in an underpowered car.

Then later for no apparent reason I did it a 3rd time, I'm so stupid. That doesn't include the 2 times I did it in Formula GT either.

Interuptions usually lead to bad things, and the pause button isn't much help.
(unless you are on a long straight away or in the pits.) Most people don't want to
let the phone ring more than 4 times anymore. People can be as bad as critters sometimes. They dont seem to care how much time you have invested in a race,
their needs are always priority one.
This is not my very worst moment in GT3 but it is a little unusual. I was down
to the last 4 laps of a race on the test course and I was drafting behind a car
that was about 2 MPH faster than my car and my front tires where about gone.
when the other car dove into the pits, I thought a stroke of good luck. :)
So I followed. the auto drive took over and when the other car turned into his spot my car biffed his right rear fender. and I lost just enough time that I couldn't draft him as we left the pits. Lost by 2 seconds. Perhaps Auto drive should be an option.

my worst moment: i was on the last lap on the laguna seca enduro and my sister was mucking around near the ps and she stepped on the cord and the system fell down and the power cord came out. i was so cut it wasnt funny

I was winning this one race I just hadn't been able to get the hang of for like 2 months. I got all the corners just right, I was totally outclassed but had 2 turns on the AI, I was screaming down a straightaway...

... and I stop accellerating. I can't brake. I can't turn. My roommate's boyfriend had wrapped my controller cord tight around it whenever he put it away, without leaving any slack length at the base. So the cord wore out. (I even stripped the wire to double-check.)

I lost from a bad controller! :(

This has happened to me in GT2...I accidentally hit the Analog button, then wondered where my steering went!

Anyways, so far I haven't had any Worst Moments in GT3 yet. I've lost a few races, but nothing exceptional. But I'm sure it's coming...

This happened about a week and a half ago.

Playing GT3, still working through beginners class, and spent 4 hours playing during which i cleaned up Roadsters Set, 4WD (finally), Yaris Series (twice), and FR series. Got all the cars and quite a few bucks into the bargain. I had only recently found a site that had a heap of tune ups and settings, so i was wrapped to make some real headway after struggling to get the hang of the handling. (I've only had the game 4 weeks).

Anyways, was feeling pretty chuffed when darling calls me, needing a hand with a couple of things. Quite magnanimously, i wander off to help out, placing controller carefully on the FLOOR beside console. Return about half an hour later, pick up controller off the LOUNGE where it usually sits. Press X, expecting return to game. NOTHING.

Press X again. NOTHING.

Scratch chin, pondering, 'Has game frozen, or something?'.

Press X, press every bloody button on controller, do everything bloody possible to make something happen. NOTHING.

Frustrated at losing the gains of the evening, eventually concede defeat and press Reset on console, and move back to seat. When unable to still make anything happen, for some reason i suddenly am able to see the cord running from the controller in my hands to the bloody #2 Port. Realising i have been trying to use the #2 controller which my son had been using when we raced earlier that evening and left it on the lounge. #1 controller still sitting where i had placed it ever so carefully earlier.

Thankfully, serenity learnt during life rebuilding process of last few years meant i still have undamaged PS2.

OUch, that hurt...

Worst GT3 moment... Well I guess that would have to be when I moved, and somehow crushed a Flash-Drive containing my backed-up saves, one containg a garage with all 195 Cars all hybridded-out. Anyway Since I have found better Hybrid setups.

If this can be translated into GT3, then here goes...

(Yes, this is GT2 by the way...)

Seriously, I have never gotten a gold on that one.
(And it's the only one I still need for the I-A license.)

Keep trying. I did and eventually got it gold. Anyway back to the topic, i was on the last lap of the formula gt championship on the last lap. I got to the last corner AND THEN, A 🤬 POWER CUT. two hours plus of racing, and what for, nothing!!! I was not happy.

Now what were the chances of that?

Mine came when I finished Simulation mode, but was stuck at 98.2%, due to the time trials. I made quite a fool of myself until I realized that there was still an entire mode to go!

When I was .003 away from golding the B-8 Liscense Test. And then I can never run anywhere near as good again. VERY INFURIATING.

one odd thing i did was smack an R390 Race Car on Laguna Seca
It was stuck on the Corkscrew and for some reason, was tryin to go up the hill ^_^. I think it was becuz i smacked it soo hard on the lap b4

anyway, i decided to have fun and hit it head on since i was soo far ahead (i have f/090/s, don't ask why)

that car just flew....literally

It flew ALL the way down Rainey Curve, the long chicanish turn after the corkscrew. It was hilarious

Then, the Mazda 787b smacked me cuz i was at a complete stop in the middle of the road. All i did was hover straight up, then back down.... it was hilarious ^_^

I would post the replay if i had a sharkport, but o well ^_^

New to the forum and the thread...

My Worst moments (Happened 3 times- i have KIDS!) on GT3 was when i'd pull into the pits...

i'd usually pause, and get up to get dinner ready, change a diaper, help with homework, etc...

i'd come back and find my MANY laps of WHITE KNUCKLED driving was for not...
and my ride would be sitting outside pit row...

just sitting there on the side...

...purring like a cat that just killed your $2,000 parrot!

that was the worst! =(

well i have quite a few... i lost the first set of races in the game ( i know! but i was only 7 at the time)

spinnig out on the 3rd to last lap on enduro race. then losing by about 3 seconds

and finally going to fast round a the autumn ring and going off the course only to lose ( again )

i also feel bad having cheated to always have the escudo in every race. i regret that now but at the time it was cool to win every race by about 1 lap. ah well at least i have lost the cheat disc so i am not tempted to try that again. but to be honest we all have havn't we. haven't we? :guilty:

Got one today.

I was getting beaten by over 5 seconds a lap in Formula GT on Laguna Seca, a course where I normally excel in the GT3 F1 cars. At the end, I finished 5th at 2 laps down. Earlier, I had won by 3 laps. I just didn't have it.

I don't recall which championship I was running, but I was doing the final event at Cote 'd Azure. I thought I was completing the last lap and let go of the wheel after the finish line. I quickly found out that I was just starting the last lap and had lost my lead and maybe another position. I was not able to regain the lead before the finish.

Fortunately I had enough points to take the championshp. I think I had saved at the end of the previous race anyway so that I could pick my prize car.

I had also completed the Time Trial at Grand Valley and forgot to return to the "save screen" before leaving the game.

Mine was during one of the longer endurance races, been a long time so can't recall which one. Had been playing for a long time and had around 15 laps left with a really good lead on all the cpu cars when i had to pause it to help with dinner and all that typical stuff. After dinner had to use the restroom and came back to finish it up to find my 2 year old son playing it....sigh. By that time it had been a good 10 minutes of him messing with it and i couldn't catch up. Lost by about 2 minutes. Bad thing was i told my wife to watch him because hes bad about doing that, she failed at that!

Well I'll add to the conversation (hee hee, isn't it funny when we're all on-topic!)

pulls up a chair My worst GT3 moment. I was doing the Rome endurance race...the 2 hour one. I forget what I was driving...I think it was an S13 Silvia. I was up against the Clio Sport and the Griffith the entire time. I was taking pitstops with them even though my tires could have lasted longer, just so I could have a close-matched race, know what I mean?

And the race was close! Almost every lap, I'd be battling the Griffith. The Clio Sport & I didn't do as much dueling but every once in a while, all 3 of us (me, Clio, Griffith) would pit on the same lap, and the tension was intense.

So one of my housemates comes down to see me. :indiff:

...yeah....you know what I'm about to say!

I didn't want to be rude, so I chatted with her for like 10 or 15 minutes. Got back in the race.....and my groove was GONE.

I only had a few minutes of racing left, but my concentration had gone completely from left brain to right brain! All a sudden I couldn't keep up with ANYONE. I lost my first 2 hour enduro! :banghead::dunce::eek:

Hey guys, I brought coffee & donuts. Help yourself.

My worst moment in gt3 was when I was doing that liscence where you have to drive around a 60m circle in the wet in a corvette, I just couldn't do it!

I tried for 2 hours, and I was doing it for the 100th time I had 1/4 of a lap to go with my best time so far, I was so intent on winning I floored it to the finish line, the car started to slide to the outside of the circle but I kept control and crossed line line, I waited for my present and ...... FAILED

WHAT THE F:censored:

I watched the replay and realized I had put the car wheel on the grass about 1mm from the finish line :scared::crazy::ouch:

okay, check this out.

1. First of all watch the demo. Notice the speed the Corvette is supposed to be travelling at. You'll need to be near this speed to make gold.

2. Switch to manual transmission. You don't have to switch forever, you can just do it for license tests if you like. This makes it easier to maintain your speed while not worrying about if the 'Vette will switch gears automatically--which will make you lose time.

3. Start the test in 2nd gear. Rev the engine near or past redline before the test starts. At the beginning of the test (3....2....1...BEEP!) slam the gas. This will get you going with minimal wheelspin (as opposed to with an automatic transmission which starts in 1st gear everytime and is therefore more prone towards wheelspin).

4. Work your way towards the inside of the skidpad. You don't necessarily need to be driving on the red & white grid the whole time, but you don't wanna be too far away from it either.

5. When you get to the optimum speed, you'll need to be drop off the gas a bit and start tapping it. You don't wanna be going too fast or too slow. The entire key to this test is consistency. You need to be consistent with your steering and your gas. You want to be right at the edge of understeer, but you (of course) don't wanna hit the gas too much and risk oversteer. That will mess up your cornering as well.

6. Typically, I like using analog steering (the mushroom stick) but for this particular test, I actually prefer the d-pad for steering. So as you're going around the circle, I find it easier to tap on the d-pad. Analog reacts quicker and is better for racing, but the d-pad is better for "fine tune" steering if you get what I mean.

7. You'll be going around the track 3 times. Notice as you get towards the end of the first lap there's a billboard .....I believe it's a BP advertisement. Look for this billboard because the finish line is just a few meters after this billboard.

8. You'll go round once....twice...as you go around the third time, look for that BP billboard (or whatever it is) As soon as you see it, you can start HITTING THE GAS. It doesn't matter if you understeer. It doesn't matter if you head towards the outside of the track...all that matters is you're trying to save time so you can make gold. Once you see the finish line, you can even straighten out your steering and make a dash across the line! (your car will crash after the test is over, but who cares?)

HTH

Don't even get started. Remember what happened the last time you showed up at a party?

Anyway, I have a new worst GT moment. Had a couple friends over while running the 24h Le Sarthe (GT4). Let a couple friends drive about 8 hours in, and ended up losing a lap and a half lead in 5 laps. 5 hours later in the race, and I still haven't opened up a decent gap. :banghead:
