And all of thoes are fantastic cars, but there was an old GT lap times database site called race line or something like that.

RacingLine.org I was briefly a member there 2 years ago just as the new owner took over and a mass exodus of members from that site went down!

The 2.0 FF Clio does suck, but pretty much all FF cars were horrible to semi-horrible in GT2. There are exceptions to that of course, but not too many.
AS well, much tweaking will be required.

My point about the Clio wasn't that it's bad because it's front-drive...the Clio sucks because you can't upgrade it with an na tune or turbo. Trust me, I've driven many front-drives, but the Clio has such a poor pound-power ratio you'll barely win any races in it. I think Polyphony Digital forgot to program tuning parts (other than exhaust, computer, etc.)

By far the worst cars in GT2 are most of the old Muscle Cars, because they were inaccuratly programed in the game only their specs when tuned I mean. PD totaly purposly underated the old american cars such as the Plymoth GTX, Ford Mercury XR7, and others exept the corvettes. Its bull **** you get a little Inline 4 240SX with 200+ hp stock and can tune it to twice as much power. But with the old Muscle cars like a GTX with 380 hp stock you can in real life can tune it way higher than only 505 HP more like 600+ it just kinda annoys me:grumpy: , but at least PD grew up over time:tup: . Though what I said does not completely apply to all old american muscle cars they did a good job with the old Corvettes I got the 1969 Corvette 427 all the way tuned to have a 228 MPH top speed:sly:

Those muscle cars should at least get displacement increase. And superchargers. :irked:

You'll note that I qualified my position with Toronado.:D
It's not so much that the FFcars suck. However, when you compare them to the other drivetrain types. You will note that the "understeer" thing is way more magnified than it is IRL.
For the record, I literally spun a FF car on an off-ramp, when I overcooked, then braked too hard. The tail of the car got in front of me spinning to the outside of the turn, and depositing the car on the inside of the curve.
I've never been able to do that in GT2. Drop-throttle oversteer is real, especially in RR and FF platforms, and it will bite you in the ass.:lol: It's funny now. But I very nearly needed a change in boxer briefs at the time.

I would definitely say that there are very few cars in GT2 that truly suck. The Renault Clio is probably the only car that I just could not stand driving, otherwise as far as FF cars go, if you can't get them to perform its probably your problem not the cars, (though PD did skimp on a lot of FF cars power upgradability). Personally I like trying to beat Vipers and Vettes with the FF cars because when tuned properly they have monstrous handling capabilities.

As far as the worst car in the game, my vote goes to the Clio, it's just kinda pointless, where as others like it can actually perform with a little tune up or they're some kind of novelty (Who really would not take a Midget type II, Prius or a Fiat 500R if they had loads of cash to blow, if not to just have a little fun whipping the tails off underpowered K-cup cars?). Every other car in the game has an upside somewhere. The 4cyl Clio just all around sucks.

Welcome to GT planet! 👍 You sound like a fellow enthusiast :cheers: and you're right...there are very few cars in any GT game that have low potential. 95% of the cars in GT2 can be taken to win more money than many would think. Even weaklings like the Lancia Y (recently dissed in the rate-a-car thread) can become stars in their own right.

Another reason the Clio 16v sux: the dealer quotes it at 170 horses, when you get to the racetrack, you'll find just 108 at your disposal :irked:

Pffft... Never raced the Clio... but saw the HP deciperation (sp) and I sold it.
So... yeah.

I think I bought my Clio in my early GT2 days with semi-serious intentions (I was trying different cars in different scenarios). It was one of my first GT shocks; there's plenty of little stuff wrong in GT2, but the Clio seems like a huge oversight. It looks good because you can buy it in a bunch of colors, but you can't do anything with it!

It's like the Acura "Type R". PD messed that up too..the car you buy at the dealer is not a Type R...it's a GSR with a Type R engine! You can only drive a Type R in GT2 if you have a shark (not counting the Spoon & Mugen versions)

The HKS drag cars really suck ass even more than the old Muscle cars in GT2 ****ty handling, doesnt even have the best top speed for having 1K+ horse power and doesnt even accelerate as good as regulare Skylines or the Escudo its a Pro Drag car for christs sake and the other cars are not I just Hate these cars in GT2!!!:yuck: 👎 :crazy:

Daihatsu Midget= awsome
500R= awsome
Beat= awsome
Demio= not bad

you= not awsome.

What's the point of this? If My point of view isn't exceptable to you then that's fine? That's no means what so ever to judge someone you don't know at all! The approach itself is a sign of a challenged/Non disputitve individual!!! We are just giving our point of veiw, That's it, Cheap shots are for Kids and wimps, So I'm done with this as far as your concern, Grow up...

The HKS drag cars do suck. one time I was racing it on Test course, and couldn't even make those corners, and came in 4th.

At least you get $250t for selling it. :)

lol use the R33 & 180SX types & come in 1st

true it handles like a shopping cart but in the striaghts & slipstreaming MAN that thing is fast

But the Escudo is faster. *hint hint* And the R33 has disappointangly low top speeds, I still don't know the Escudo's since having it for 3 years :P

I dont think the Escudo is faster in top speed I have got the HKS R33 Drag to top out at 284MPH with out hybriding. The fastest I have ever gotten the Escudo to go was 256MPH sorry I do not remember the settings, I have not played this game for 2 years. I just got both GT1 & GT2 about 2 weeks ago:) right now I am playing through GT1 after 3+ years I missed both of these games so bad now I got them:dopey: 👍

the viper

what was the deal with the 6,000 rpm engine? it was better in Gt1 with 8,500

They were obviously trying to reflect real-life. And in real life, the Viper has a low redline like most large-displacement engines from America. Only the Oreca/full-racing versions feature a higher redline.

Lol!

With a automatic 8 speed at a Whopping 70Mph...

Mistubishi Galant 4-cyl, non-turbo.

What? I can't even bring it above 200HP? and all that weight? It sucks that this car looks like a supertourer but drives like...well, the production version.

Yup!! Hardly any upgrades...I completely forgot about the FWD Gallant!

The 4WD version gets more power + you can throw the yaw controller in it. But for the most part, the yaw seems to do nothing (limited slips make more of a difference) but for the most part, this car has some tricky handling, does it not?

...I still like the Gallant tho...it just looks so ghetto with some gold Yokohamas! :ill:
