Camo doesn't work on race cars, and the colours are terrible.

All of that.

And while I'm thinking about it. They ran an army camo scheme for a couple of events back in 2011. Actually I think this is even worse.

The reason Newman's car works is:

  • It isn't exactly camo; more 8-bit. More linear and less natural in form.
  • It has colours that aren't overly contrasting.
  • The camo doesn't provide the main backing for the livery.

Everyone is wrong the winner is clearly MGs BTCC car which is basically a saving coupon stickered to a car:

Never liked the red on the back, it just always looked out of kilter for me. Other than that, and bearing in mind that's the test livery with the awkward front, I like it.

No, it's completely horrible. The 2010s MGs have always looked terrible.

It would look approximately 2,000,000% cooler if it was Giovanardi's.

Agreed^^ but it still looks good as it is. I mean I would drive that car if I had it even if it was stock. I know everyone says of course you would drive it because what is under the hood but It wouldn't matter what is under the hood for me i mean I would love for it to not be stock but that's not why I would drive it so just getting that out there.

I can't find one livery in particular, but I know the driver who has had the worst liveries their entire career,

plus numerous others already posted,

How's that top one horrible? The bottom one isn't great, but better than some.

I think it's time to let this thread die. The last...what...eight/nine pages haven't gone without someone opposing a posted scheme, like what I just did.

Its based on opinion of personal taste, if it sparks discussion then what is the problem?

in reply to the Jeff scheme, Drive to end hunger is a great cause, but when your racing number draws the eye from the sponsor, which in this case is a charity, that is poor form, but not just that, you need to manipulate the contrast on your T.V to see that there is more then just bright yellow and hideous maroon!

I liked his 2007 Coke 600 scheme, not sure why but it's better than normal flame colors.

As far as the Triple 888 camo cars, I liked both, but I am a huge fan of camo in general so when I see it on a car I tend to like it!

It's not the best, sure, but I do quite like it. You've got some nerve to try and mix tealish green, yellow and the trademark BMW racing colours.

And then there's a dragon on the bonnet.

Nothing wrong with the pink. The white lets it down, for me. If that was pink/black instead of pink/white, that would look spectacular.

Nothing wrong with the pink. The problem is the splashing of the pink at the door before the white rear. It just looks stupid. At least to me.

Splashing is a great way of joining two colours in a basic livery:

Kinda hard to point out, but Morbidelli's Cruze from this year had flecks of black running through the white:

Looks truly amazing close up.

That looks horrible. It looks like someone was doing the black, got it wrong and some flecks accidentally ended up in the other sections.
