*gasp* How dare you post the doge car livery in this thread! It's beautiful!

People don't like the DOGECOIN livery because they have something against the meme.

The Hilmer livery would be really nice if they just cut half the colours.

His team mate, Daniel Abt, has a marginally more tolerable livery, with dull yellow in the place of that unnatural blue.

I made that one on GIMP with a Williams F1 template

Edit: I can't make the image smaller because of what Flickr does with png files.

I'm not a fan of the Doge meme at all but honestly I do rather like the Dogecoin livery. It's certainly a lot better than some of the other Nascar livery's we've seen this year anyway.

Edit: Like this for example. I like Austin Dillon and RCR but sorry this is just, ugly.

^ It's probably because the diamond's too wide, and they half-assed the color scheme, for fear of waking Dale Earnhardt from the dead. It's more "imbalanced" than "worst".

Dogecoin actually looks okay, even if the meme is stupid. It looks like many schemes we've seen in Cup cars over the past decade or so, but the positioning of those silly doge elements is what makes it so humorous, in my opinion.

It's branding to the extreme, and I love branding and crappy eco words.

Also, that red has a chrome tint to it.

Wait, they actually raced that?

I thought it was just a livery they put on all my happy meal cars.
A night race at Bristol in 1998, among other night races through a couple year span since the picture above is a Thunderbird and this is a Taurus.

Interestingly, in searching the RA108 I found pictures of the stillborn RA109, which ultimately became the BGP001. But it still has the same horrid livery of 2008.

So I'm getting ready to post this in the suggestions section and to my surprise when looking for more pictures of it, I found out this car still exists as a reskinned (and slightly modified) Mercedes:

It's a shame it was so slow, because it was actually a really good-looking car. Likewise the BGP-001. I love the simplicity of them. Don't get me wrong - I think the RB10 and W05 Hybrid are the epitome of what racing cars should look like, but if I had one complaint, it's that the aerodynamics are too complex.

I always thought HKS' JGTC car was quite nasty. Same applies to their drag GT-R, 180SX and Celica too.

May just be me, but this thing has early 90s written all over it and hasn't aged particularly well.

So does the BGP 001.

Well everyone was pretty much aware of the BGP-001 (thought I recall the nose being a more solid matte black whenever it was used as a press car), but not many people are aware of the Honda RA109 and likely many of them weren't aware it was still around.

I agree. In fact, I feel the RA109 to me should be the optimal look for F1 cars. Maximum front wing, maximum low downforce on the rear wing with the slicks. It just looks the business.

Wider front wings allow for more downforce. The narrow front wings have helped make the cars tough to drive this year. And that's what Formula 1 should be: the best drivers earning their pay in the toughest cars.
