Would Porsche sell you over on GT6?

I still plan on getting this game day one. If Porsche was included in Gran Turismo 6, it would just add the icing on the cake :D

I'll have to sponsor this post as many that have raced with me know my passion for the 911, namely the Ruf RGT as its the closest thing to a 911 GT3 in Gran Turismo 5.

I'll have to say if Porsche is announced in GT6 it will surely be second to the joy of winning the lottery where as I could buy the real thing and go from the proverbial road to the real thing!

For all those that don't know, the 991 GT3 is mine and no one will quite know her like me if it is in GT6...this video explains my "unnatural" passion for her:

Faster around the Ring than a GT3 RS 4.0 and something for the senses.....see how it compares to others like the McLaren MP4-12c and the GTR with this:

No, I'll get it regardless, interested to see how it compares to the competition. Porsche would be nice but I race Forza4 too so that takes care of my Porsche thirst. I have to come back to Gt for the 69 GT40 and XK13 though.

If a single car company is enough to encourage somebody in the game then I suggest they don't buy it as there's far more important things to consider before you spend your $60 on this game.

As a Forza 4 LE owner since launch I can say RUF is not a replacement for Porsche regardless of level of detail( but especially if the RUF is standard) The GT3 RS is a beast of it's own, as is the Carerra, as are the ALMS Porsches(Falken, Flying Lizard, etc)

If T10 can buy the license, why can't PD?

The RUF cars are excellent in GT5 i buy everone i see and win many races in them so getting the porsche dealer on GT6 WOULD MAKE ME VERY HAPPY!PORSCHE HATERS BEWARE PORSCHE HAS NEVER STOPPED IMPROVING AND ALWAYS WIN IN ALL CLASSES!

All right buddy, no need to shout.

Rufs can't have 550 spyder or Carrera GT :indiff:

Check out the CTR3.

I have a few caveats that will determine my purchase of GT6, one of which is the addition of Porsche (not likely) but at very least, updating the current lineup of RUF's in game.

I'm fine with its counterpart RUF.

Porsches are just so overrated now and days. I don't see why one car dealership would sway me into buying GT which didn't have Porsches too start with.

Overrated? How do you quantify that?

For somehow, it's true because people think they can outperform other cars of different drivetrains when their RR drivetrains are actually inferior compared to other cars that have FR, MR and 4WD drivetrains. Not sure how it compares to an FF though.

Except that the 911 GT3 is very competitive.

On topic:
I'm already sold on GT6 as the entertainment by money spent is through the roof for GT5 for me, even if I include the console and wheel. :)

I would however buy a DLC pack (dirty word :yuck:) of Porsche cars, both racing and road cars, even if I prefer road cars from all ages. The Forza M. Porsche pack had a nice mix I think, but it's by no means the perfect template.

Did Ferrari sell me over in Gran Turismo 5? No.
Did Lamborghini sell me over in Gran Turismo 5? No.
Would I miss on the opportunity to race and tune cars from such marques if they weren't included? Yes.

Answering this question about Porsche and GT6 requires me to go back in time. In my time on GTPlanet, I've been around those who complained heavily about GT4's car lineup when GT4 was in the works. By that time, an upstart called Forza Motorsport 1 came along. More people were drawn to its car lineup while thinking Polyphony Digital couldn't lock up world-class manufacturers and supercar makers. So Bentley and Mercedes-Benz aren't world class manufacturers? Paganis aren't supercars? It's like some people need certain names to push sales of a game.

That brings me to this question. I'd love to see Porsche, but I wouldn't be disappointed if it wasn't included. We all know the Evil Empire (Electronic Arts) has the Porsche license- and hasn't honestly done any good s:censored: with it since "Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed." Most of us already know that having Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini would complete a dream certain Gran Turismo types have dreamed about for more than 15 years. And I'm sure if Porsche were included, PD would waste no time combining modern and classic Porsches ranging from road-going cars to race cars. You have to imagine at least one 911 and at least the 962C are going to be featured among the Porsche models.

Porsche, like any other car company, at the end of the day, ...is just another car company. Let's not get on the record saying that a make is required for a racing/driving game. Some people even prefer Ruf or Gemballa or somebody other than Porsche. Be sad if Porsche isn't included, but don't let it give you the impression that PD cares more about Nissan than any car or car company most people care about. Agree or disagree with me- I won't be disappointed if Porsche isn't included. That's even if the company were offered as downloadable content for GT6 in the future.

Having Porsche in the game would be great but if it's not that is okay I will still get GT6

If T10 can buy the license, why can't PD?

Because forza its not a house hold name like granturismo and EA can sell it to turn ten for say 5 million dollars and turn around and ask 45 million from PD

Not sure how the deal worked out?
Pretty sure EA made a cut on the DLC sold, so T10 didn't have to fork out on each disc printed.

I seem to remember a deal with Ferrari too. T10 supplied them to EA for a need for speed title (Xbox only) I think???

Maybe PD could offer up a few Skylines or something.

I'm not saying Porsche has no place in a GT game. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't put so much stock and interest on feeling like the company is required to be in the car lineup. I actually think Porsche could get as much attention as Ferrari would in a GT game if Porsche was included. On the other hand, we've gone five GTs and 15 years without Porsche, so what's wrong with one more if GT6 doesn't include Porsche?

If anything has disappointed me with Porsche and Porsche-style cars in Gran Turismo, I think Ruf's profile could be expanded and enhanced in GT. To my knowledge, the most number of Rufs in a Gran Turismo game was eight in Gran Turismo 2. I especially loved the 1996 Ruf CTR2 Sport (or whatever it's called) in GT2. Make us happy by including the Ruf CTR3. If we never get Porsche, at least give us one of the coolest Rufs today- the CTR3. That's like the Ruf equivalent of one of the past decade's most beautiful cars- the Porsche Carrera GT. GT introduced me to Ruf; why not expand upon it a bit more?

Wasn't it last year or two years ago when a Camaro and a Porsche were among the Best in Show finalists for SEMA? We would probably certainly get Porsche had the Porsche won. But who knew Lamborghini would have itself some face time for when the Japanese version of GT3 had that (then) JGTC Diablo? Strange things can happen that ultimately lead to the inclusion of certain things. So keep hope alive if you're a Porsche fan who wants to see Porsche be included in a future GT.

Porsches aren't very important to me, and RUFs'll do fine, so no, Porsches won't sell me over on GT6.

I doubt the presence of a glorified Beetle will sell someone's decision on whether or not to buy a game.

Thats the most ignorant way to look at that that there is, as Porsche is anything but a Glorified Beetle.

A 917 isn't a glorified Beetle. Same with a 962. Or a 959. Or a 918. Or a Carrera GT. Or really any Porsche.
