Would Porsche sell you over on GT6?

If Porsche were any kind of concern for PD they would have a Ruf dealership in the game with a full lineup of premium Ruf's available for purchase as a substitute for the Porsche brand. Obviously it's not that big of a deal to PD when it seems like a no-brainer to me.

Yep,I'd have to agree with that too.

Based on this interview, it seems like EA is only really willing to give away a sub-license if you agree to do their job for them. Or am I the only one who reads "collaborate" as "making the models for them"?
I read "collaborate" as "pay".

Porsche doesn't really excite me as a brand so no it doesn't influence my decision. New cars are always nice though and I know others love them so I would like for them to be included and would be willing to pay for DLC if that's what it took.

No one manufacturer is a deal maker or breaker. I was also perfectly happy when GT only contained Aston Martin, Chevrolet, Dodge, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota & TVR.

So, do we know how long EA's contract lasts with Porsche?

Seems like it's existed now for at least a decade. Usually contracts are for a term.

Think it was renewed a year or two ago sadly.

I'm a devoted GT fan, so I'll get GT6 with no Porsches. It would be nice to have them to see how they handle in stock form, because the Rufs have already been tuned.

I would love to see Porsche in GT.
The handling of a 911 is almost unique. I would also like to try the 924, 928, 944, Cayman...
Also, so many amazing race cars from so many years!
1973 911 Carrera 2.7 RS !!!....yes please.

But I will buy GT6 anyway!

I think the RUF's in a premium form would be a very good compromise to EA's stranglehold on the brand.

I remember my time spent on Forza, 911 GT3 was simply the car I used the most and I'm a Ferrari fan.

It's a shame that exclusive licences continue to exist, the consumer is always the loser (except when it deals with small developpers who need exclusive licences to grow and it's not the case of EA at all).

Not 100% I like some Porsches but its not a deal breaker. Now a explanded lineup of American and European cars is the deal breaker.

That would just be silly. Who in their right mind bases a game purchase on a single car maker?
Someone whose favorite cars are manufactured by that company? My favorites aren't limited to a single marque, but if a game lacks any of my most-liked cars, it isn't particularly appealing to me. On the flipside, I've bought mediocre used games just because they feature one or more of my top favorite cars. I don't think it's that strange.

Especially when your favorites cars are very rare like Ferrari. I almost buy Test Drive Ferrari and Ferrari Challenge on PS3 for that before the GT5 release. (and sadly, GT5 doesn't have 250 Testa Rossa, 250 GTO, F1 156, 250 LM, 750 Monza)

And it's more even true when the game is good like F355 Challenge on Dreamcast (one of the best driving simulator at that time). Forza Motorsport was supposed to be a game with only Ferrari at the beginning of its development too.

If Porsche gets announced for GT6 or some number, I'll buy another copy of the game and gift it to some random PS3 owner.

IIRC, RUF build their cars in Porsche chassis, they are not anything like Mine's, TRD, Mugen or any other of the kind that take the cars from the manufactures (or second hand) and install it stuff like turbos, aerodynamic pieces, etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Oh yeah, I always forget about the topic.. well

I don't really care about Porsche being included in the game, but it will always be welcome if it is anounced, you know, It'd be really cool actually :D:tup:

Ha.. I remember when you published that pic in the "Post your latest GT5 pic" a couple of months ago.

Just a heads-up, I think you forgot to edit the mirrors because you can see the man driving it in two of them, or is that intentional..?

Nonetheless, that's a great picture!!! :)

While RUF do start with "part of" a Porsche, RUF are recognized in Germany and worldwide as a Manufacturer. What RUF does is in no way controlled by or connected to Porsche.

Sadly, I will buy GT6 and drive the RUF cars as much as possible. I would love to see a deal struck with Porsche/EA/Polyphony, as Porsche are surely missing out on a great title to be included in...

No.

Porsche does nothing for me. I don't care if it's included or not.

As far as I am concerned they all look like squashed beetles.

Would much rather have the heavy hitters, McLaren P1, LaFerrari, ect....

No. I don't care of Porsche. Honestly I hate the design, 50 years of the same goddamn design of 911 and they even make a model celebrating it. It seems to me like people buying COD even though it's still the same game, every year for 60€...

I don't wanna live on this planet anymore.

If you want Porsche, there is RUF but not all models are there, lol.

Regarding the topic, Porsche fails to give me a special feeling that I wouldn't forget in other games and if Porsche will be in GT6, expect all of them to be RR.
