Would you buy a second PS3 to get 16xAA and double the cars on GT5?

Would you buy a 2nd PS3 for better graphics/more cars on track?

I rather them come out with ps3.5, too soon for ps4 lol. No seriously in some ways this would have been logical if what i have been saying all along took effect, which was that polyphony should not have been pushing for 60fps 1080p. If the res and fps was lower we would have way better everything, graphics, sound, ai etc, then if we couldn't do without full hd and 60fps buy a second ps3.
In a way i think thats kind of logical, It's easier to use a second ps3 to up the fps and resolution than it is to have both trying to pull of better shaders, shadows etc. But tbh who cares, rfactor is more fun with 10 times crapper graphics, and although the car models in gt5 are very good, i still don't think the game graphically is deserving of 16xAA. It's good but come on it's not photorealistic, many will say im wrong but i'll put up with that until ps4 comes out, that's when i think GT6 or whatever would be more fitting of the word photorealistic and everyone will be like wth i can't beleive i ever thought gt5 was photorealistic, just like people did with gt4, photorealism is coming, but it sure won't be on ps3 or any other current gen console for that matter.

I don't really see this happening.

First of all, from a technical standpoint, think of SLI or Crossfire on computers. These multi-rendering technologies use super high bandwidth links between the multiple graphics cards (ie, PCIe to the northbridge and usually a "link" between the two cards). The PS3 simply has a gigabit ethernet port to talk to other PS3s. This is fine for supercomputer applications, but for realtime things like games it's just not suited.

And second, from a financial standpoint, Sony would lose money with such a scheme. They sell each PS3 at a loss, and make up for it with accessories and games. Implementing this idea wouldn't sell more games, expect for a second GT5. But they would lose money from selling another system.

So, it's nice to dream of 16xAA and other eye candy. But it's unrealistic to expect it on the PS3. Sorry!

Edit: My bad, I googled before I wrote this post but couldn't find any multi PS3 applications. But then after this post I found the thing with GT5P at 240 frames per second. Still, this was a tech demo. And because of the financial cost I still think what I wrote above is valid.

Not to mention the added development costs to basically develop a 2nd version of GT5 capable of doing that.

Note: I'm not certain but I'm fairly sure they would have to develop a 2nd version for this to work, correct me if I'm wrong.

I vote yes, as there are two PS3s in my house, I would just have to break my brothers arm so he would have no need for his PS3.:sly:

£13,295? You can buy a pretty good used car and book a lot of track days for that!

Exactly, when we first saw it we were all agreeing that it was the probably the best set up we had seen, I thought a reasonable price was between £1000 - £1500 as it had a bit of "tec" on it which would push the price up . . . How wrong we were!!!

He is probably from Australia, video games are more expensive there for some reason.

lol.

No we have a different currency to Americans. 1 USD = 1.2 AUD. But yeah, still a rip off compared to the US :D

Back on topic. I voted no, mainly because I think it would be a waste of money to buy another PS3 for a tiny improvement, that I probably wouldn't notice.
