And yet you'd pay $1m+ for a Ferrari?

Well that's one of the sillier things I've heard...
I'm under the impression it's a question of which vehicle a person would rather own, rather than buy, and let's not kid ourselves, the cheapest of those prancing ponies is the F40 which Hagerty pegs at $1.25m for a fair example. And when it comes to owning an M3, I'd sooner jab a hot poker into my ear until I can smell it.

So you're saying you wouldn't own an M3 because they are popular?

Nope. I wouldn't own an M3 because I don't want to be a BMW owner.

And yeah, I'm aware it's The Slate, so...consider that phrase regarding the grain of salt, but it was a BMW driver behind me yesterday on my morning ride, waiting for the light to turn green to make a right turn ("No Right Turn On Red" sign clearly visible), honking incessantly because I wouldn't go (the law applies to cyclists just as it does motorists) and, not that it matters too much when the turn would have been illegal, but not even bothering to signal for the turn. It takes a special kind of 🤬 to drive a BMW, and while I don't hide the fact that I'm an 🤬 as well, I don't think I quite make the cut.

Current Vanquish and *shudder* (lesser of two evils, right?) Yaris Hatchback.

That's a little ignorant isn't it?
I think it's more observant than ignorant, as I've observed the behavior and, with a combined weight of less than 200lbs, it's hard to ignore the 🤬 in the 3000lb car when I'm on my bike. I can't always park and ride, which means being out on the road with...them.
You know it comes down to the person behind the wheel, not the type of car you drive, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, not every BMW owner is a total 🤬 and not every total 🤬 owns a BMW, but the stereotype exists for a reason.

Why let a stereotype prevent you from enjoying something? Are you that worried about what other people would think k of you if you owned an M3?

Anyway, it's your loss

I haven't worried about what others think of me since I was bothering to add "and a half" when asked how old I was. And sure I just might be missing out, but I can live with that. Anyway...

I see, so you're worried about become "one of them" by owning an M3.

Got it.

And both of those cars are hard to look at, but if I had to choose one, I'd take the De Tomaso
