I have been enjoying this game for 20 hours or so now, and it has been all between very easy to 5-6 out of 10 in how hard it is. But now i got to the Porsche Cup an hour ago.....and I have been trying all 3 tracks over and over again, and its SOOOOO hard.....I cant do it.....especially not with the Porsche....it looses traction all the time, and the car spins around 10 times or so. Its like if I changed it from easy to hard, and turned off all the assist. Well.....it was fun as long as it lasted, I cant get past this...

I can do all of them but the ring. I can't seem to overcome the rain midway through. It's like the AI doesn't have to slow down in weather.

I'm debating buying the missing car from the used lot for $221K.

I now "cheated" and turned the difficulty down to easy......this was really SO MUCH harder than everything I have done so far in the game. I wonder if it keeps being this hard from now on or not......I need more practice....

It's was super hard for me. I did it with the 996 GT3 that I won during a roulette. I needed full aero orherwise the car was all over the place. Also what I found is that if it starts raining the ai seems to get faster somehow. 🙃

Yeah I noticed this too, the AI also aren't affected by coming out of slow corners or by bumps in the road that cause you to lose traction, making the Nurburgring race one of the toughest I've faced so far, it rained on Spa for me too and I only just managed to clench 3rd, the bus stop chicane was a death sentence as they were divebombing me and just zooming away while I was struggling to put the power down, seems like they can brake a lot later than you can in the rain too.

I like a challenge don't get me wrong but only when it's fair, when the AI are basically cheating the laws of physics it leaves a bad taste.

I've become so wary of RWD cars in this game that I've turned TC on with them. I also am very, very careful with the throttle. I've had times - especially in the rain - where a RWD car going in a straight line has spun out when I get to full throttle, no matter how slowly I build up to it. Hold the throttle to 50-75% coming out of a corner until you know you're on dry pavement with the wheels pointed forward. It is frustrating, I get you.

Yeah TC 1 in the dry helps a lot with high powered/ Low weight cars (I done all of my Super License Tests with it on and managed to get gold on every one except S-10) the cars are definitely more twitchy on the limit now, usually Differential tuning helps with that but it doesn't feel like it does much in this game, maybe it's just something we will have to get used to.

GR.4 cars seem to be a sweet spot now for me (especially the new GR.4 supra, that handles like a dream without TC on) so I've been grinding the Brands Hatch GR.4 race, you earn nearly 100,000 everytime for winning with a clean race, most times I win with 5+ seconds to spare and it only takes about 6 minutes to complete, makes the rest of the game less frustrating having a race like that to fall back on.

If you buy the "fully customizable limited slip differential" (I think it's under semi-racing for like 6800cr) you can set the initial torque and initial acceleration down to 5. This helps quite a bit with rwd cars. Still have to manage the throttle carefully without traction control, but it definitely improves the drivability.

...snip...

This is a great hack, thanks! It's about 97K with a clean race. It sure beats getting 35K per race durin the normal challenges.

Now Im stuck on WTC 600 instead. Im using a GR Supra which I love to drive, but no matter what I do I cant get ahead....

I spent hours trying to win at the ring in the rain and finally did it on hard. I used racing inters on a 2001 911 GT3 and they helped. A lot of downforce too!

I’m using a Fanatec DD1 (using the Porsche wheel funnily enough), I genuinely don’t know how people play on pads with these rear wheel drive cars. It’s still twitchy as hell with the wheel but so much fun.

I found it was easier if it rained from the start because that makes the leading pack a little slower. I had one session where it didn’t rain at all and they were miles ahead.

I have to say I’m kinda glad it was tough cos so far it’s been pretty easy. Makes it feel like an achievement.

That was hard. I used the Mitsubishi GTO. Finished 3rd, 2nd and 3rd but won overall:D

I just finished 1st, 2nd and 6th place, and I won overall :-/ I thought you had to be 1-3 in every race.....but I guess not...

Also did it with the '20 Supra, barely managed to win the championship, and only won the last race.

yea man, i just got to the same point in the game and feel the same. freaking tough.

for the porsche races though, i found enabling the counter steer option greatly stabilizes those things at high speed.

If you exit and rejoin, the weather will change. You can get an all dry race or one that starts wet just but exiting and rejoining.

There should absolutely be tough challenges in single player I've just managed to gold the special license test on spa in the 917 and it actually the accomplishment rush that I used to get before with GT 1-4. If there are challenging races in the single player career then that makes me more excited for playing more of gt7

Aha. That's what I did.

Porsches themselves in real life are tuned specifically to be balanced, due to the RR configuration. A lot of people in game however are just slapping things on to max the PP, which throws the cars balance out of whack and makes them incredibly slippy/loose.
