We can hope we get complete rallies and not just a stage or two from each one.

I tend to agree with @er185es that it won't go back to WRC 5. In WRC 7 they dropped all stages from 5 & 6 and from then on began recycling. So I don't think it's out of the question that we could get the stages all the way back to WRC 7.

This means we could possibly see Mexico, Argentina, Poland, Germany, Corsica, Australia, Chile, Wales and Turkey return. There are twelve rallies this year so 12 + 8 = 20. Supposedly there will be 22 countries. What could the other two be? Could we see China from WRC 6? Am I missing a rally?

Another question is if they will double-up on existing rallies that have been revamped. For example, will we get the current Monte stages + the Monte stages from WRC 8?

But you listed 9 rallies that could return, so +9? Not plus 8?, hehe i dont know, im tired, but i sure hope we will get all newest epic stages from 7 to 10.
I also hope we will be able to use any stage or rally in a custom season or rally at least.

Im running germany stage now, cool tarmac along the wall, but it is added in 10 as a single stage i think at least, from last November update.
Edit: oups, also just read the news on gtp about it, says 13 events in the year, so 13 plus 9 is 22 already.
Not finding faults, just trying figure out all we will get hehe.

Edit2: info on 10 is 120 stages, i guess plus around 15 more from updates, plus maybe count the historic ones, so 135 plus.

Then in wrc generations itt says 165 so maybe max 30 extra stages, or less.
Unless they have dlc, updates in this one too afterwards.
Still cool of course, maybe 3 stages from returning rallies, hoping it be epic with reverse, plus the special stages.

Hmmm, I'm looking forward to Rally Poland, it was great in WRC7. And Corsica from 8. And welcome back Mexico. And Australia!

Poland was different in 7 from 8? I can't remember as i uninstalled 7.

Poland wasn't in 8.. well only as the test ground not a round. Sorely missed, it was great in 7 imo.

Poland has not been a WRC event for some years, hence WRC7 being the last game it made an appearance in.

I see yeah, another reason to look forward to wrc gen, since it's their forte stage design, ill be getting it much sooner than i usually buy games if has all these rally stages from past games.
And if they keep improving from 10 a little still.

Hopefully they will still have the non hybrid previous years full wrc cars too, in case some don't like the new ones as much.

Still tempted to get 10 on sale, im liking my time back on wrc8, more than i thought.

Edit: one thing i hope in 10 or the new game that they add is adjustments for sound level of different effects.
The damn menu effects in 8 are so annoying, plus to be able to up the road contact sounds, lower the collisions sound, etc..
If i up volume to hear the road contact, the collisions is way too high etc.

Will be glad if it returns in generations, i hate losing content in subsequent games.
I also noticed corse i think isn't in any newer wrc games, not 100% sure on that.
Maybe they could polish it off a little for the next game. In any case, a must if all these rallies are included in it.

I know they are good games on tarmac but still, for me rally is mostly bumpy fast dirt roads, or a mixed surface. Or at least bumpy tarmac in parts.
Edit: im surprised how different 7 feels vs 8, almost more sim in a way. Tarmac slides a lot more, in 8 even with hard tires it holds almost completely to the road. And 7 cars feels more weighty it seems.

I feel that although there is certainly improvements in the later games to handling, graphics etc I much prefer the difficulty and stage feeling of 8, the gravel stages especially are so bumpy in places, very challenging, hence rewarding. If the same rounds and stages are in later games they have become more and more smoothed out, watered down, easier with less feedback which is a shame, although still good. Also I much prefer the mix of rounds in 8, they are my favourite compared to 9 & 10. The rounds I like the most such as, Corsica, Mexico, Great Britain, Argentina, Germany & Australia are all absent in 10

Yeah for sure, i like most stages, germany is cool, i like poland, mexico, turkey etc.

Im excited for the coming game for sure, with all locations.
Im really inching now to get 10, even if the new one is around the corner, its pretty cheap, and it will make it easier to wait for inevitable patches, updates,,and a bit of discount on the new one.

Also, i checked videos on 10 more, and lots of sounds seem much better actually.
Edit: i know 10 has a lot of content and is at a good sale price, but it still almost doubles the cost with those 2 dlc cars, and im a poor chump hehe.
But i know ill want them lol😁🤣.

Edit2: i was wondering, if there's a hand brake controller that works with these games, on ps4,5, and with a g29 set?
Anyone know?

The San Remo stage is part of the base game. The base game gives you like 95% of the content. The DLC is totally not worth it and not even near necessary.

Use rubber bands to force the shifter into 3rd gear, and map the handbrake to 4th, so when you pull it back to 4th gear it activates the handbrake.

Your list of favorite is pretty spot on my friend, just tried Argentina epic stage, what a cool stage too, with rubbles making the car skip over them, shaking chassis, ffb, surface sound..

The engine sound of the WRC class seems improved, the Puma sounds quite realistic I think compared to what I've heard on the TV coverage.

I like Alan but lost a little respect when finding out he is seemingly a Forza Motorsport hater!!

The preview build that some got doesn't seem to have Australia, and Wales? Maybe not ready, hope..
Sanremo seems a complete rally now? That be good.
Also wonder if it will have still the 2 versions of finland like in 9.

Plus i didnt see more cars like in historic, only new hybrids. Also didnt see bonus cars.

Im getting addicted to wrc9, just doing stages, and some offline challenges.
Really liking japan, with all the different turns, connecting roads etc.
The different traction on surfaces like the cobblestone on the side of the road.

Seems less traction a little when cloudy vs sunny on tarmac? Maybe game takes into account the temp of the tarmac.

Fun and nicer to use analog handbrake on the hairpins too.

Dirt stages too feels great, the challenge on bumpy dirt with the citroen r5 for example.
Got to admit it's pretty damn good, good feel on the wheel.
I wish they improved sound of the Porsche as much as the other historic cars, it sounds maybe even less cool than in 8. But i like driving it, heavy feel.
In always using hard tires on dry tarmac, even that seems to stick too much maybe.

Wrc 9 really is the 1st not annoying in general to use, and driving, and great wrc game for me.
Except the extreme challenges, bad visibility sometimes, lack of custom championships.
Doesn't look like generations will have them either.
And ai balancing, i just tried the 1st short stage of japan with the Porsche and then with the old lancia 037, and the ai do faster times with the old car, cant be right lol.
The 037 old tires slide much more and handles much less responsively.

Wish they took time to adjust ai, hopefully will in generations.

No, only the new Finland stages will be there. I suspected that and Alan confirmed in one of his videos. Who knows, maybe we'll get more old content through future DLCs.

And yes, the AI times are pretty inconsistent.

Really too bad if they don't add lots of classic cars, like ones in dr2. So many cool interesting, different, unique cars in that.

Id pay 50$ extra easily if added most of them, if as well done and sounding as they are in 10 in cockpit view especially.

The stratos sounds great in that view in 10 from videos, in 9 it's the only poor and annoying sounding of all legend, bonus cars.

All newer legends seem great sounding too in 10, makes me miss them in 9.

Will be super cool to get all the rallies listed in generations previews, with the further improved game too.
Gonna be hard to wait for a lower price, especially im itching to try the added legend cars of 10, and further improved weight simulation.

Been messing with the set-ups a little in 9, to see how the physics and feel is affected.
Pretty funny sometimes.

I noticed they replaced the older escort with the mark 2 in 10 afterwards. I love all the unique classics.

Too bad since they are losing the license in December, not much chance of much further cars expansions for gen.

One thing im getting stutter after restarting a stage and checking replay a few times etc.
goes away if restart the game or mode.
Im on std ps4..

Edit: i noticed the 206 was added.
Edit2: what's weird is in the ps store it says 20 legendary cars for 10, and 37 for generations.

Maybe they are keeping extra cars as a surprise for when they do promotion videos.
It be damn cool to get 15 extra legend cars.
