Rik, I don't think it will take that long as steam seems to say 6mbps but it is much faster once it gets going. Leave over night. I think you will enjoy this game.👍👍

I hope everyone had a good New Years.

I looked up the IGCD list for this game's cars, and there are some cool unexpected choices, only some of which I had seen in video already. :)

A70 Supra, CRX, Jaguar XJ-S, S30 Z, KPGC10 Skyline, Volvo 240 wagon...and even a Reliant Regal Supervan (though according to the comments on IGCD it doesn't tip over like it should).

I ended up downloading this off steam last night, only took about 8 hours:crazy:, and even on the lowest graphics settings, some thing even turned off, it ran at about 3-5 frames per second i reckon, omg, absolutely unplayable on mine:banghead::(

Have to say though it looked very nice, and the one crash i had was superb damage wise, oh well, have to wait another 6 months or so before we get it on console...

I remember a few years ago I tried Wreckfest, was really dissappointed that it's nothing like Flatout and it was laggy as hell. Now I got the full game and it's a giant leap.

Never thought I would say this but the full game gives me as much fun as Flatout 2 did. And even my low-end hardware literally eats it, runs quite smooth. The only thing I miss is the songs from the previous games.
Bugbear is going back to its roots and all I can say is they are going to the right direction.

What specs does your computer have? Mine runs way too smooth on medium compared to my PC specs:
4Gb RAM
Intel Core I3 550 (10 years old this year!)
ASUS Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 TI OC
Windows 10 64-bit

Well mine is a mini zotac pc, specs are. Had it since 2012

Yeah, I bought it in the Steam sale and have been having a blast with it. Wish I had picked it up earlier, but it took a hefty sale to overcome my reservations. Online is a blast, complete lack of tension compared to other games lol. You're expected to hit other cars!! :)

Yesterday a friend came over to try a few racing sims. I told him to try Wreckfest as well. Guess what, he wasn't interested in the racing sims anymore when he tried Wreckfest. Wreckfest is what he wants!

Wreckfest is also a sim, isn't it? :)

To anyone who's played it so far, how good is it compared to Flatout: Ultimate Carnage?
It's not that arcade style. You'll definitely won't see cars crashing into each other while going with 180mph.

As for me, Wreckfest is the better one, since it's a sim-like game, and I don't really like arcade games anymore. :sly:

Wreckfest FTW.

Wreckfest is much more realistic. The cars are very beautiful modelled. Nice scenery and realistic tracks. All the goodies from FlatOut UC are in Wreckfest. I thought of FlatOut UC as a fantasy game and Wreckfest as a more realistic game.

While there, I poked my head into the Steam news page and found Bugbear has been posting some other updates recently:

Introducing More Varied AI Cars
Collision Improvements

And this one's a bit older, but covers what is probably the main reason the console versions are coming later:

A Look at Upcoming Performance Improvements

Good stuff; it appears the wait for the console versions will be well worth it, as it will make for a better game (and on the disc instead of only in post-release support...what a concept!). 👍 👍

Wreckfest is so much fun. I wonder what kind of game Bugbeargames is going to make next.
