Hi All, Mojo here.

In the spirit of Natalya's (Kolyana) "D3 welcome thread", I have created this thread. This can be a place for Division 2 drivers to get to know each other and talk about how life in the WRS D2 is treating them. If some of you D1 or D3 drivers decide to pop your head in here, I'm sure you won't get beheaded either. Anyway just tell us a little about yourself and keep the WRS community tighter and Welcome all the new drivers to the world of OLR. (like myself) :D

My name is Chris, and I'm a Sagatarius. LOL. :dunce: I"m 27 years old. I've been playing the GT series since the first GT, back in '97/'98, but just recently started OLR with Flat-Out's 2005 Mini Cup. I have yet to race in any WRS races, yet. I hope to change that this week. An oldy, but goody of a course/car combo. Thanks CFM, for putting these together. I know I can learn alot from you guys. I've seen alot of fast times in D2. Even times that rival D1 times.

To all who are new to OLR or even Veterans who haven't looked through all of this info, a good place to start is the Online Racing School Forum. If you aren't apart of the GT4 WRS yet, get on over the WRS Qualification Tread. There is no time limit in which you can submit your qualifier lap to CFM.

So, relax here in the Pits with each other, until your next outlap.

Cool. I'm Kenny and I'm 18, in Chicago. Obviously I'm in D2 and I hope to rival the best of D1 :)

Currently trying to beat 1'02.050 for my T2 time...

Welcome to the Pits, Kenny.

I was chasing your ghost for a while and when I finnaly got kinda close,(1'02.407) you pull off an awsome time like that. You are indeed the Bomb. Maybe I'll chase someone a little slower for now. :)

My brother, Doug lives in Chicago as well. I am currently living in Phoenix Arizona, attending automotive trade school.

Haha thanks. My ghost just pulled away a little bit more (1'01'844) :) although one corner after that might be questionable as to whether or not I was really on the course with 2 tires....but I'm sure I can duplicate it and beat it tomorrow.

One of my best friends is named Doug, he's the drummer in my rock 'band.'
Automotive trade school, it is a general course thing with a school or a private thing where a specific manufacturer trains you?

In the spirit of D2 i am angelx. My real name being Boris, but my middle name is Angel and so i use that online instead. i am 19 and live in the nations capital, DC, i am a full time college studentand have a part time job. i am keeping this short and simple, so i will see you fellas on the track.

Hey, been doing the WRS for a bit... but life and what not is impeding me from racing. That, and my power cable was missing for my PS2 for the last weel :dunce: Broke down and bought a new one for 5 dollars. :P

Name is Cody, and I'm a big time Toyota fan. Favorite car, the MR2. The older AW11 and the MR-S. Yes, the MR2 GT-S is my least favorite of the MR2s... its weight and engine stuffs. And I'm a spaz about "heavy" cars. What makes heavy? Anything over 2700 lbs is starting to get heavyish... above 3000 is just bleh.

My real life cars... 99 Corolla for daily driving.. and an 87 MR2 with more work done to it than is right... the steering wheel and most of the body is stock at this point.. and thats about it. Check the general car section if you are interested. And yes, I do race it. Auto-x and drag right now... with road racing coming up in June/July :D

Otherwise, I'm studying for graphic design and photography at the moment... lots of photo work I need to take care of.

Hit me up on AIM or MSN, either should be in my profile, if you want to talk about the WRS, Toyota, auto-x, Kei cars in GT4 (I love the RWD kei cars), or most anything. Oh, and I'm 19 :P

Fellow Div.2 folk... im ls2_297, aka luke, 16, been playin GT since the original since i was 8yrs old, back in 1997. HUGE holden fan from down under hoping to be up with the best of the Div.1 racers by the end on the year.. with the good 'ole DS2 :dopey:

Hi, div2 racers. Just saying hello, 'cos due to my craptastic results I probably won't stay long in div 2. :D
I played GT1 a few times in '98 or '99, while I had a Nintendo64 myself, and I'm really addicted since I bought GT3 bundled with the PS2 in november 2002.
For the rest you can click on my name and see my profile ;)

I'm currently at 1'04.041 (WRS, week 3 I mean), hoping for a low 1'03 or a high 1'02 by the end of the week, unless I spend too much time in the Mini at Citta di Aria.
See you at the track.

WSSSUP!!! fellow Div 2'ers.

Name is Adam, 29 young years old, from Melb Australia.

Been addicted to the Gran turismo empire since day 1... although Gt2 dissapointed.

WSSSUP comes from the name of my car... what other number plate could you have with a Pulsar SSS. Im pretty much around cars 24 - 7 , detailing them through the day and when i get a chance on the ps2 for a squirt.

Hopefully i'll be able to keep up with the weekly events, but with a TJR sim and Gt 4 Wheel on the way i might be joining you Flat out, we might have to make a div 4.
Im yet to get this weeks event under away due to my ps2 slimline going meltdown. Lets hope my replacement arrives on time tomorrow.

👍

Hello everyone...

Glad to meet you all... some great racing going on already in the all-new GT4 WRS... I didn't do much of the GT3 WRS, but hopefully will be a regular contributor from now on...

In real life, my name is Chris, and I'm 30... I'm a postdoctoral research scientist, based in the East End of London :scared:.. I live and work within eye-shot of those flats that appear in 'Little Britain' (the 'Lou and Andy' sketches (as in Lotus350's avatar :sly: ...) but I digress...

Look forward to some great weeks of racing with you all... 👍

Cheers,
TM

Hmmmm hello.

David here, permanently VEXD, hence the name....

Nearly 28, live in Nottinghamshire in the UK, where Robin Hood comes from...

He's a good mate actually.... robs the dix, gives to me.....

Anyway, ive been on GT since i dropped Super Mario Kart for it, and have never met anyone who can beat me yet. Thats irl......

Online, its different of course, but thats why i like the challenge.

I get online at work, which means i am unable to say when i can be here next for definite, but i am usually available for questioning on how to improve your laps, should you be running behind me and want some advice.

Best way to get in touch would be a PM really.

I aiming to graduate soon, as i was due to run in Div. 1 in the last WRS, but then KENT had to disappear, so i never got promoted in the end, but i like being in Div.2, as i can compete with you guys.
Those Div 1 guys are just too sick...

Anyway, welcome everyone.

Oh yeah, and last thing.... I am about to trade my '95 accord in for a '94 CIVIC 1.6 VTEC this very morning!
Chuffed!

hi everyone, as my username suggests my name is Rob, I'm 22, from Manchester. My username is actually my private reg. which currently resides on this:

But it's getting sold soon to make way for a Civic 1.6 Vti, either a hatch (EK4) or coupe (EM1).

I Can't recall ever playing GT1 but borrowed GT2 off a mate and have played the GT games with a passion ever since. This is my rookie season in the WRS but i hope to do OK. 👍

Wow, quite a few replies while I slept. Welcome to the Pits, All.

@ Kenny. My brother is into some sort of construction. My auto tradeschool is specifically for auto/diesel. They have manufacturer specific training if you get excepted when you graduate. They have BMW, Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo, Audi, Volksvagen, International. It's a pretty good deal. I like it alot. The only problem is that alot of kids straight out of high school attend and don't yet know how to conduct themselves away from Mommy. No offense to anone.

@ Flat-Out. What's up, Man. I've been devoting all my GT4 time to your Mini Cup, so I haven't been able to do the WRS thing til now. Curse that addictive little car. hehe. Fun series.

@ WSSSUP. Took a look at your car...nice, Man. As for you PS2 heading south...Bummer, Man. Hope you get your new one too.

@ Mars. So, we have a rocket scientist in our midst. hehe. Welcome to the Pits, Dude. Hey when I stick my finger in my eye it hurts...what should I do? LOL JK

@ Rob. Nice wheels, hope you like your new car.

@ Azuremen. I'm with you on the light weight cars. I, myself own an 1971 MGB Roadster. It weighs about 2100 Lbs. I am leaving the exterior and interior stock looking, but the engine and suspension are going to get the modern day treatment. I was actually thinking of doing a complete S2000 drivetrain swap to it eventually. From engine, all the way to the rear wheels would be S2000. Altough, I have heard bad things about the gearboxes and difs. The S2000 weighs in at about 2650-2750 Lbs or so. And if I put that thing in my MG, It's gonna fly. :)

I gotta get to school, see you guys at the Autumn ring.

Greetings average GT drivers, just kidding. I like to think we're in the middle of the best drivers in the world! By the way, good idea Mojo! My name is Andy, gt3 was the first video game I ever played, got totally addicted, I'm not a young fellow either, I have daughters older then most of you. Have one bedroom in my house dedicated to racing, chassis (VRS) virtual racing chassis I bought from a pro race car driver, DFP, speakers under the chassis for that nice rumble sound. I own a printing company in St. Pete. Florida. In real life I drive a 2004 Acura TL, or 2003 VW Passat, on weekends I drive and show my 1970 Chevelle Malibu, totally restored. Anybody got any classics they want to sell, get in touch. Nice racing with you guys, I'm in your rearview most the time, but don't take your eyes off me, I'm gonna move up.... or down,

My turn. I'm a 30 year old Canadian living in Japan. Moved here to further my study in martial arts, but still find enough time to 'get behind the wheel'. I teach English here (go figure). Have been GT'ing since GT1. Competed sporadically in the GT3 WRS but hope to be around every week for GT4. I am shocked I am currently sitting in fourth place in Div 2. Will surely move down the ranks now that I'm driving a 4wd this week. (sorry, I am a supercar guy).

Hi all,

idle here, a.k.a Jeremy. 29 (30 in May), married with 2 kids, another one on the way. :nervous: Network admin by trade, GT'r since GT1, cut my teeth with virtual racing waaaaaay back with this gem:

Wow...

That almost makes me feel old :dopey:

Looking forward to getting to know you all and have some fun racing. This current combo is a real contrast from last week. I'm gonna need to run a whole lotta laps to familiarize myself with the track and car and get some respectable times :nervous:

That means, much to my wifes dismay, I'll be here:

a lot more this week.

Hi, my name is David and I'm an alcoholic... oops, sorry, wrong place :D

I was Div1 during the GT3 WRS but, at heart, I've always been a Div2 driver.

Well, I'm Kelly, I'm from Manchester, UK .

I'm married to Ron (Mr P ) We have 4 children... 2 girls 2 boys and I have been racing since GT3 came out.

Been around here for a while now and was in Div 1 throughout GT3 WRS.
I think I can be lot more competetive here in div 2 and when I put the effort in I can achieve some damn fine times, so you guys better watch out ;)
We've met a few guys from around here too and even travel to race and meet the likes of Daan, Famine and Sjaak :P

Got a DFP on it's way any day now so it'll be a few weeks before I start kicking butt :sly:

Good to see new names, and a new generation of GT nuts 👍

Well that's it I guess, think I've covered it all... see you on track

Hi guys,
For some of you who don't know me,I'm the grumpy guy here on the forum. ;)

Just wanted to say that I herald from Chester originally; I emmigrated to the States about 7 years ago, but I visit England semi-often.

I like to think we're in the middle of the best drivers in the world!

That's right - we're the porridge that Goldilocks chose! :)

I'm Cam, 29 years old and living in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of BC, Canada. I'm an electronic engineering tech, and while I've been a GTP member since GT3 came out (I think there were ~500 members here when I joined!), I've never taken part in this WRS stuff. The GT4 WRS gave me a chance to jump in at Week 1, so that's what I did. I expect this will improve my driving a fair bit by giving me a reason to push myself with courses & cars that I'm not so familiar with. It should also get me up to speed on my DFP, bought right before GT4 came out.

I've been playing the GT series since GT1, but I still fully expected to land squarely in Div3. I have realistic expectations. I was surprised (and a bit terrified - you guys are quick!) to find I'd qualified in Div2, but I'm not too concerned about the competitive stuff. I'm just going to do my best to submit a half-decent time every week and see how it goes. My internet access is through work right now so I probably won't be making with the T-time chat too much, but I'll try to sneak in here to make smart-ass comments every now & then. :dopey:

Here's some pics: a mountaintop heli-flight to a repeater station for work, and my car. More car pics & info in my sig link...

Ok, now that I read the thread again, I realize that my post was rather laconic. (Yeah daan, that rhymes with alcoholic ;) )
I'm Cyril, 33, married (my wife plays RPGs or adventure games but no racing game at all :( ) and we have 3 kids (6, 3 and 2). I graduated in chemistry but I've always been working in computers.
I'm one of GTP frenchmen with Tannis and Tr@sos (I never heard of any other one), but I'm the only one you'll see regularly around.

@ Natalya : I spend a few months in Chester (that was in '93) working for Shell in their research center (the place was named Thornton-le-Moors). I liked Chester, I liked to walk around the wall or visit the bookshops at the 'rows'. Great memories from there.

Man, that makes me homesick. Last time I was back there was maybe 3 years ago (my parents came here 18mths back), and I took a load of photos for friends back here in the States ... it made me look at Chester like a visitor and I realized just how 'neat' it really is.

I can understand that. I stayed there 4 months, I've never been back in 12 years but I still remember lots of places in Chester : the roman ruins in the gardens close to the river were one of my favourite place where I just sat and read a book. That was my saturday afternoon paradise.
...which usually ended at McDonald's next to the gate with the bell (don't remember its name) or at Pizza Hut on the way back. :)

The Eastgate Clock :)

Strange to think that you were in town at the same time I was ... heck, I could have bumped into you one day or sat at a table opposite and would have never known.

Hi folks,

My name's Matt and I'm 25, living in the sunny climes of Brisbane, Australia.

When I'm not playing GT4 I compete in actual rallies in a Subaru, more fun but way more expensive :) So obviously I'm enjoying this week's combo.

Good luck to everyone racing in the WRS, nice to know we're such a friendly bunch!

Hey all. This is Studentdriver, aka Will, 15 years old, living in the 'burbs of Philadelphia. Lucky for me, I go to what is considered the best public school in the state (lots of rich folk around here). And no, I am not yet officially taking classes and whatnot for my license, but it also applies to my study in GT4. I joined GTP about two months ago, so this is my first WRS. And yes, I was the one whining about missing the points by four-hundreths. Not usually that bratty though, just venting a little.

PS. Is anyone out there an actuary? I've been looking at that as a possible career (I just need better grades LOL).

/waves to all the D2'ers as they take off past him.

Thought I drop in and see how things are going. To bad there no more of Nat's muffins left to pass around. Hope to be able to at least better myselfin weeks to come, to at least give some ya a run on the weekly times.

Hey Everyone,

This thread seems to be comming around nicely, now. We have quite a melting pot of drivers here in D2. People from all over the world. I'm Currently living in phoenix, but I've lived in Michigan, California, Illinios, Oklahoma, Hawaii, and Alaska in the US. Also in Okinawa Japan for just over a year, While I was in the US Marine Corp. I have yet to see any of Europe with my own eyes, but hope to soon.

Hey you're not in D2, Teladriel!!! Off with his head!!! hehe. Hope you had a great birthday, Man.

May the wind be at your back. Or some such nonsense. :)
