Hi fellow div 2 racers. Nice to meet you. :)

I'm Niels and with my 41 years, it looks like I'm the oldest racer here at the moment. I live on the east coast of Jutland, with my wife and to sons (9 and 7).

My wife claims gaming makes her dizzy, so me and the boys got the PS2 for ourselves. Oldest son is developing into a hardcore gamer, beating me in soccer, shot'm'up and more arcadish racers. Unfortunately he refuses to play GT. :( Youngest just play, because his big brother and daddy does.

2½ years ago I bought my first PS2 and GT3. After a year I had played through the game twice, and felt an urge to keep playing it. I stumbled over the Planet and got involved in OLR. Quickly realized that this was the thing. Not much time for other games since. :D

I'm currently living an obscured life in the bottom of our division, but I'm counting on, that in another 20-30 weeks, lots of the faster racers will get promoted. Just need 20 racers or so to move up, and I'll be in the middle again. ;)

I'm looking forward to race with you all. :)

Well i can get out of the pits and onto the track for week 3 now... Replacement Ps2 arrived.

:)

With wind at my back, I might run some better lap times.

Oh, sorry, wrong divisional thread :P

Off with your head, too!!! :)

Hey NielsG, Welcome. Where exactly is Jutland? Sorry for my ignorance.

@WSSSUP. That's great news, Man! Hope this one is good to you. My PS2 is nothing more that a GT playing machine. I don't even own any other games, anymore. LOL

PS2: $250 (back in the day)

GT4: $50

DFP: $150

Racing in the WRS: Priceless.

Some of my friends say that's alot of money just to play a game. They just don't understand. :indiff: sigh

A game that gets played every week for how many weeks? (GT3 went 106 weeks)

Hey NielsG, Welcome. Where exactly is Jutland? Sorry for my ignorance.

Jutland is the main peninsula in Denmark. If you ever look at a map, you'll see Denmark is shaped like a big nosed pixie. I'm living right under the nose. :D

hey everybody, I'm Chris. This is the first time i have competed in a series online. I am not pleased with my position on the ladder right now So it has to be improved. I remember playing gt1 back in the day. My roomate in college was having trouble with the liscense test taking the first section of grand valley. Had to have been a high level test, but i am not sure. I play all sorts of racing games on the computer and ps2.
I drove open wheel race cars from '84 to '02. I started in quarter midgets and ended up in winged 410cid sprint cars. Check out sprint cars on the ps2 with WORLD OF OUTLAWS:SPRINT CARS. That game is as close as it gets without your eyes watering from the methanol fumes.
I live in Indianapolis the racing capital of the world. I can't even tell you how many racing buisnesses and teams are based within a mile of where i live. I am also right down the street from turn one of the indianapolis motor speedway. Don't you wish you could wake up to the sounds of race cars?
I also have a large collection of die-cast race cars. Everything from F1 to sprint cars. I have several that appear in GT4. if anyone wants info on models of cars in the game, PM me.

Nice to be here with all you guys, i'm sure there is alot of good times ahead.

Hey everyone,

I just got some new PC speakers and man are they great. If you are ever in the market for some 2.1 PC speakers, the I-trigue 3300's are the way to go. They are surprisingly small but thay pack quit a punch. And at only $80 at walmart, you definately can't beat the price, for what you get. The sub and speakers are both powered units and put out a crisp sound even at high levels. [/off topic] Sorry just thought I'd tell people my great buying experience.

Welcome to the new posters at the Pits. It's good to see the drivers that we will be driving with are real people, and not just some chosen name on the screen.

And thanks for the geography lesson NielsG.

Well Mojo, Ps2 seems fine at this stage... Was just happy to get a replacement in only 2 days.... thanks to Sony Australia.

Anyway im pretty excited atm.... about to go pick up my DFP, and also my TJR Simulator.. Will post some pics up when i set it up.....

These simulators are great ...you can check em out at www.tjr.com.au

👍

That's great news, Man. I don't think you'll be disapointed with your DFP. If you've never raced with a wheel, it may take a little getting used to, but once you do... simply wonderful.

That cockpit is awsome. I have made a makeshift one out of PVC. It does the job OK, but looks like a modern art masterpiece. hehe. All I need is a seat from some car for real cheap (or free) to finish mine. As of now I'm using cushions from the couch. My wife has been great about it, although I don't think she really likes it. :grumpy: I would love to build one of those TJR type ones myself one day, whenever I get my own woodworking tools.

Have fun all.

Hay all the Div2 drivers Muck the dog aka Barry living in IRELAND just out side DUBLINi,m 28. Week 3 is going to be my first race and i just got a wheel so i dont think my times will be to good this week (it may be the EvoVIII) I'm going to get a few more laps in. 👍 Div2 WRS

Hey there my fellow "Div2ers", fresh off the qualifier here and just made it earlier today! :D

I'm Ian, formerly known as that-photomode-request-dude. I'm a 22yr old [insert secret occupation] located in New York City. I've been playing the GT series since GT1, never completed any of them, never really took it seriously until GT4 came out with the super combo of the Evo VIII + Nurburgring. :dopey: As you might've noticed already, whether it'd be my username, avator or signature, I drive something very similar to this week's WRS theme car. :)

With that being said, I'm looking forward to compete with you D2 guys (& gals), maybe even the D1's in the future. But for now, I will do my best not to embarass the Evo.....

What's up fellow division 2 dudes and duddette. mi nobre es Max. i know it's a bit of a boring nickname i suppose but i couldn't really come up with any good names to give myself (though others have come up with a few over the years).

i been playing these GT games for a while and done a bit of competiting for the past coupla years. nothing fancy, just out to have a good time and do my best.

i'm 33 years old and have a wife of 8 years (dorothy) and two children (dasya and kaine) i work at a brokerage firm and hate every minute of it. my hobbies include lounging around on the sofa, pretending to be in pain so i don't have to do stuff around the house, and perusing all the must-see harcore porn sites (but only at work). i also like to drink beer and listen to deafeningly loud heavy metal bands such as fear factory, meshuggah, and hatebreed.

what else? hmmm.... oh yeah, my turn on's are: shapely asses, the sound of a big block v-8 motor running headers and glasspacks, ky jelly, and not doing work.

my turn off are: pretentousness, excessive body hair on women (especially in the nipple area), getting stung on the penis by a scorpion or jellyfish, people who brag about how good they play granturismo as if i give a rat's a$$, bartenders who think THEY know when i've had enough, and plaid hats. i really hate plaid hats.

anyway, that's me, Max E. enjoy the rest of your day and i'll see you all on the track. laters.

Well, what an interesting few days.

Picked up my simulator, put it together all good.... Just gotta paint it this week and get some stickers on it... will look good i hope...

Anyway got my dfp, and whatya know.... didnt work... Turns out the fuse had blown which was causing no steering action at all... Fused replaced with the asian standard 1.75 amp fuse and all is good. Seems the pal release wheels have a lower amp fuse in them and seem to blow all the time...

Anyhow all good now, and what can i say i love the dfp, not too far off my dual shock times so im pretty happy... couple of days and should be pulling faster times.

Took a few pics of the setup, will post up more when its complete with spray job and stickers.

Adam 👍

Looks fantastic mate, cant wait to see it when its all painted and decked out 👍

So how is everyone going with this weeks event....???? I really havnt had a chance to do much on this weeks race, due to ps2 blow up, dfp wheel faulty.....

Meshuggah!!!!!!!!!!... Love em dood..... Heaviest crazyiest band on earth... Being a drummer i am always amazed when i listen to em... future breed machine - dang he's got a brain in every part of his body.....

Love metal....

👍

That's awsome, WSSUP. My PVC contraption doesn't even compete. Except in the "arms hurting" department. Give some rally a try and see how your arms feel.(ala grand canyon)Anyway, I'm glad to hear that all is well with your wheel setup. What colors were you thinking of paintng it?

This weeks combo is kicking my arse. That damn squirly EVO is p***ing me off. I guess im the one that's at fault for not being able to drive it properly. So I guess I'm P***ed at myself. DAMN, I hate me!!! LOL, not really. I still hate the EVO with no suspension mods. The Subies are much more predictable in stock trim. Oh well, I can't wiat for Race #5, when we get to tune our rides. GT mode here we come!

Just out of curiosity, do you guys prefer Arcade mode or GT(Sim) mode better in OLR? I don't mean what you think will be easier to start with or whatever. I just want to know what you prefer overall. I definatley prefer GT mode.

I just put up a pole at the top of this thread. If you all don't mind, would you take a sec and submit you answer.

Thanks,Mojo 👍

Hello all division 2 racers. I think it is about time I introduce myself. My name is Brandon, I'm 21, and I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I have been playing GT since GT2 came out. I purchased it In Nebraska on the way to Iowa for Christmas. Me, my cusin, and his friend were up till 5am playing a couple of nights. My cuz still give me s*** about my famous qoute after racing for two hours, " i finally won, I finally won, I got 500 dollars!" GT2 was one of the major things that got me into cars, and have been insane for cars since. I got GT3 when it came out and was amazed by the ohh so preaty graphics. After owning it for 2 years someone stole it and three other Ps2 Games from my room. Then it was back to GT2 for a year and a half or so. I got GT4 the day it came out and have been spoiled ever since.
I drive a sky blue 1995 F150 single cab short bed 2wd with the 300 Inline 6, 5 speed. I get crap gas milage 14-16, and dream of nice, nimble sports cars.
This is my first time OLR love it. Would have started a long time ago with GT3 but I didn't have it.
Mojo, I havn't raced GT mode in OLR yet so I don't know what I like better yet.
I think I talked enough, will enjoy racing you all this week see you at the "other Ring".

Arcade mode puts everyone on a level playing field.... So it all comes down to the driver.

Gt mode is both driving and tunng abillity...... but as we saw through the Gt3 WRS set ups were posted all the time, mostly from the div 1 racers.

So either way is good...

there should definitely be a blend of arcade cars, sim cars, hotlaps and multilap races. WRS shouldn't be getting into a rut. no good for business.

Hi all. My name's Dale, I'm 24, from Australia and do some volunteer environmental work to pass the time. Been GT'ing since the beginning but never took it overly seriously. Been enjoying the challenges of the WRS so far, but cannot believe the commitment of some of you guys. I get bored running the same combo for too long so I can see myself help holding up the Div2 ladder.

Max E.

Definitely.
However the multilappers should only involve much slower AI cars, so that we can smoke them before turn 1 and avoid any contact in brakings. (I've always found silly the way they brake earlier than me when they're ahead, and later when I'm ahead, so that there is always contact :( ).

Hey Kelaser. Welcome.

The competition here is fierce at the WRS as I have found in my first week of competition.(I had to pick the Evo challenge for my debute race) :dunce: idiot! I'm sure I'm be at the bottom this week. Oh well. That's the great thing about the WRS, there's always next week.

Hi all! I'm Juuso and I'm a div2-racer. :) I live in Finland, a country in the northern Europe. I'm 15 years old and school is taking too much of my time..

My PS-set came with GT1. That got me interested into cars. Since then, I've been a car nut. Now I own every GT released here. I spent 3 years with GT3, also doing WRS. I did about 20 races in the GT3 WRS in Div2, without huge succes. Didn't race much because GT3 got a bit boring.

GT4 makes OLR fresh and interesting for me again. I'm happy to race with such skilled and nice people! I'm looking forward to have great time here.
