You know you could also made this design in Forza and move it around the car any way you like. Forza really is the ultimate game for designing vinyls like this. Especially since you can put 4,100 vinyls per car. :sly:

That design looks great. If you are going to split the car in half, why not split it at a stylish angle like this so it matches the "red line" a pillar? Here is kinda what I am talking about.
I have been working in Photoshop for the past 9 years and prefer it mountains over forza editor haha I do need to dramatically improve my skills with illustrator though. I know what you mean I actually plan on converting my design on forza(or at least close) when this is a real thing. That's also why I have them set to private via Flickr you all are some of the earliest people to see this.

That was actually what I did for my first outcome during the process. Owner didn't like it and said he wanted it to come out like "whippies" and I wanted something a little different so went with a marker style graffiti for the background and added some vector lines as well.

Looks good. I think @CAMAROBOY69 is onto something with the diagonal.
Really like the colour scheme 👍
Thanks and as I mentioned in Cams post that I initially designed a diagonal cut just like that in fact but the owner didn't like it. I'm just the designer working for a client.

Took some quick shots outside work on my lunch break this last week.

I tried a couple different effects on the same shots what do you all prefer?

I like the editing of the first one more than the others, but I think #5 is my favorite composition-wise. Although I would attempt to remove the plant on the left side of the car (I'm terrible at removing things from pictures). Same with the first one, actually, it just barely pokes itself into frame there, too. Nitpicky, I know.

And I really like your watermark/logo.

I like them all except the one where the lens flare is just on the badge. Don't know why... I quite like lens flare, but it's too much in the middle with the subject in the middle.

👍

Thanks for your input.

Thanks your to kind, I hope to be able to replicate similar results in the future and make them even better.

The editing of #1 is the best by far.
Thanks for your perspective. Much appreciated.

I was feeling so pleased with how my photography was coming along too... nice shots man!
Thanks a lot, I know when I got to the final result that I had something, I was pleased and excited that I was getting a nice direction. Hope to keep the trend.

Yeah I didnt know what to do with it I desaturated it a bit to try and blend it but I know what you mean. Thanks for your views.

Thanks again everyone.

Oh man, my car looks so much lower, although we have still both the OEM suspension.

Yet, the rims look decent. You just need a 1" lower (functional low) with/or STi bumper spats. I think the bumper spats are what make my car look low.

Side note: even though the 2005s got excellent head gaskets, they're not invincible. Please, please, please check your oil levels... I love your car, so take car of it please! :)

My car is on its way out .. the transmission is making many noises, and it's burning oil.. a lot. So, learn from my stupidity... :)

I'm sorry to turn this to criticism, but I can't get past the thoughts of "donk"... One of those American cars with rims that are too big...

That's the part I don't like; the ride height makes it look like an SUV.. :scared: please don't take it the wrong way...

I must say that to an extent I agree, in my opinion it would look nicer on 17s with a thicker tyre wall, needing to be lowered is a purely personal decision as if you want to drop your car an inch you have to accept the new driving style that often comes with that choice.

I think it looks fine with the height it's at now, MAYBE lowered a little would be nice but definitely not "Filling the arches"

I am entirely biased...

I know, for example, that a 1" drop is perfect for handling (CoG) and looks... But, camber is most important; I need more camber, my left front tire is going bald at the outer edge because most tracks around here are clockwise...

:P

It's on stock suspension for now because of where I live. Lots of pot holes, uneven pavement, weather conditions, and just bad roads in general. I'm defiantly doing suspension but just can't decide on the direction.
I'm running big tires right now so I would need at least need a roll, which im not against but just something else.

I think coils wouldn't be realistic for a daily unless I dropped a ton on fancy coils.

I could go the lower springs with new struts. Then I would want the links to get upgraded and brakes. It's a ongoing game.

As for the 18's I think they are perfect and I think they are conservative and not that "showy" no chrome bits and they match. Any more and I start to dislike it exponentially.
Idk about increasing the wall any more it's hardly even a low profile tire. 595

Some Tein springs would be perfect for you then 👍 Nice and firm but plenty of give and very comfortable - fit right on your factory shocks too!

As for the rims, that's 100 percent personal preference :) I'm one for 17s with thick sidewalls for a nice aggressive look - especially with some slight bulge from a maximum tyre width.

You do whatever you want with your car man, we're just mulling aloud about preferences :)

But, if we're talking about a performance vs. Budget type thing, 17s are best.

That's my only point, really; seeing the 18s is just odd, to me.

I think with a drop everyone would feel better about them. I have considered the teins I might try to make them happen. I would have to do a strut upgrade to though. Heard about the kybs but I would like Sti struts.

I should whip up a photoshopped pic of my car lower

Or if anyone else wants to I happened to take a side shot today with my phone

The wheels are fine, it has the donk look to it because his car sits up fairly high compared to most. A drop would most certainly make it look a lot better. Even a subtle 1" drop would make quite a bit of difference. I still think his car looks great and in fact I never even noticed the "donk" look until you pointed it out. I would not change the wheels. They look perfect on that car.

As @WrxScooby mentioned, pot holes, bad roads, and winter do not go well with a lowered car. So some coil overs would be one of the next best investments. Then he can raise the car for winter and lower it for summer. 👍

My wrx has 1" drop Pro Ride springs that were already installed when I bought. It corners amazing and I didnt have any problems in the winter but the car rides a bit stiff. I would like to eventually get adjustable coil overs to dial in the height I want and have a good ride quality, just waiting until someone on here does it first. hint hint. :sly:

Time to start consulting and try an figure out a suspension setup.

Adjustable coilovers would be amazing, they usual cost a pretty penny for a nice set and I don't like doing big upgrades shabby. (Nor any type of upgrade really)

Other side is getting some lowering springs, new/rebuilt struts, and what else?

I might have to keep my oem setup for winter it would be a pain to swap those but at least it would only be twice a year.

Either way I will need to roll my fenders I would do both the front and rear just to be done with it.

Opinions, experiences, and ideas?

I have opinions I could share ;)

Generally I would say only springs is meh, but if it's a budget or resell question it is justified. Just get something from a reputable tuner.
I would consider some sway bars, strut brace if you don't already have those. If they exist in adjustable. Go that route.
Both those don't cost the world, and you can do one after an other as budget allows.

Rolling fenders, not a fan, it will always pose problems down the road with rust. And if the paint cracks during the rolling it gets costly very fast.

You asked for opinions....
But that's just mines, others might think differently.

Hey I asked cause I want to know the goods and bads from what everyone has done and been through already.

Well as for tuners I'm set there I was gonna talk to my mechanic and see if he has anything around. I might even try to convince him to let me try some out and if I like them I'll buy them. I want to do sways, end links, mounts, and pitch stops that just adds up fast and my budget at this point is non existent so really I'm just trying to come up with a plan.

What else could I do instead of rolling the fenders it's not nearly as dangerous as pulling them. I could try to modify my fender liners but that doesn't seem practical as it's all plastic. Slight camber could help but that's all I would want is just slight, don't want to start burning through tires that I rarely race on.

Try with setting the camber. That can help a lot. And it will improve your cornering abilities. There are probably 3rd party fenders that are larger, but then you need to fill these completely. That gets expensive really fast.
I saw so many rolled fenders, where the paint was cracked, or rust was getting in. I would first go the camber way, and if that is not enough, you can still pull them or lay the border in.
Going through tires with slight camber should not be a problem, especially on a 4*4.
I give you an exemple. My S3 has a rear camber of -4.1! :embarrassed: And I'm not going through tires. I guess I have 15-20% more wear at the rear which is not a lot considering the camber. And that camber is huge. A 1.5-2 minus camber should be more than enough.

;)

Insider tip: you need front camber if you plan to go to a track or drive with any amount of spirit. Rear camber is perfect from the factory.

My car's left front tire is going bald near the left sidewall; not enough camber.

At first, I was inclined to agree that 18s were a bit too big, but from the side it looks perfectly fine to me. I think those 5-spokes fit the car well, too.

Im not sure what makes that a insider tip haha, but yes Im well aware that camber will grant better cornering if setup correctly. I wasnt aware that a suspension tune was required for a track either xD. Come on man I understand more then the fundamentals of driving and my vehicles. Your experience with your setup was nice and I thank you for that.

With my current setup I get very minor rub on hard corners/bumps so I know Im just barely too wide so a camber adjustment might just do the trick but, Im gonna look into some stuff tonight. Talk to my consultant and see what I can do. I love my fat tires but I know having a smaller size/width could make this easier. I know what I want the outcome to be its just a matter of balancing them via budget and performance.

Thanks again everyone for the responses.

Insider: someone who's in the field...?

I'm trying to give you helpful advice about camber... :) nothing personal, I would tell myself that advice, so...
