If I put the weight up to match the normal Jag, the pp drops to 607.

PP system isnt very good

Basically in some cars, adding weight can help stable cars - the PP system uses this as a rule, but doesnt understand its not very effective in race cars. So having less weight in a race car which produces downforce will always be quicker.

I dont like the GT5 PP system, doesnt work too well for race cars, but better for normal road cars

The PP system will decrease the PP if it believes the car cant take that little weight/ that much power etc etc

DrifterJoe
Normal: 536bhp, 56.5kgfm peak torque, 998kg, 610pp
Chromeline: 548bhp, 57.7kgfm peak torque, 975kg, 609pp

The chromeline has 12bhp more, 1.2kgfm more peak torque, and weighs 23kg less, BUT has 1 less pp.
That's interesting. Do they have the same weight distribution?

I'd be surprised if they didn't. RFLX, you turning up for a scrap at Monza again?

Planning on it. hopefully I end up making it this week.

56 laps, its a long one, around 100 minutes. Make sure that piece of wood is set up right, none of the cars handle as sweet as they did before.

Daytona gave me interesting thoughts:

Jaguar are outright quickest as can be expected, but even then had a couple wild-offs.

Chapparal had an eventful race, but even if they lack top speed, they can probably go 1 or 2 stops less than the rest of the field.

Ford will probably pick up positions as they go.

Ferrari are a great unknown.

In C2... Well we know on twisty parts the Challenger beats the GT40. But the GT40 will love the straights. And of course the 'vette crew joining in as well.. and we not seen a Camaro yet...

Furi, I think you missed my post about not being able to make this sunday!

I did see it, don't worry i'll make sure another Gt40 is nearly destroyed...

If a Ford doesn't win at Monza I'll be shocked, its right up its street for the Ford and I showed last time at Monza it was clearly the fastest - but without a Jag of Akmuq breathing down my neck it does make it slightly easier

I don't know if the Ferrari has a special advantage. It handling is very oversteery, and its hard to get it quick and nail a lap together compared to the other c1's

EIther way, going to be a fight to the finish. I need a kick-start to my Championship thats for sure...

It will be nice to have some people to race with :)

The GT40 can do that all by itself.

I was really looking forward to that race too as its a better track for that car

why do you come up with these jokes that i can't understand :grumpy:.
i thought he made cars better, so they wouldnt destroy themselves.

did he design it? or race it? or crash it? one thing i do know, his kid sucks at racing :P

By the looks of it someone clearly crashed in it

I don't think he designed it but I don't know him that well

i know he is some kind of 'aerodynamic genius', and that he can supposedly imagine air flow over a static particle. when i raced his son he used to put his head down (reduce surface area) but he did it in a certain way , and he had a spoiler on his helmet, like they do in F1. now this may seem normal, but his kid was 8 at the time. He even designed new side pods to improve handling. i don't even know if aero is effective at 60 mph :P

He crashed it at the Le Mans Classic in 2006, hence why Furi was joking about calling Adrian Newey about crashed GT40s.

He most certainly did not design it, well he "re-designed" this one.

ouch, that must have been expensive :ouch:

I WILL RACE THIS SUNDAY IN C2 IN A CAMARO Z28!!!!!!! Sorry about last weekend, my wife was online and I wasn't home. I read your PSN messages after the fact.

And I am almost certain that any car C1. C2, vette, ford or ferrari has an equal chance at winning this race despite all the arguing that I just read in here. Furi has tested these cars and has sought the opinions of respected GTP'ers on these specs for the series. So please quit questioning every detail. In general all the cars are equal and can win on any given Sunday at their preferred track. Thats it, all there is to it. So don't be mad if your car sucked last race. Because odds are that the finishing grid will reflect very differently at Monza.

Plus without hard specs to follow that leaves tuning all in your hands. Do you go for top speed and kill tires? Or do you tune conservative, set a race pace and set yourself up for less stops? These series is all about strategy, hence endurance racing. And it recollects the greatness of the old WSC as best as GT5 has to offer. Furi mearly soaked it all up into this series for you guys.

EDIT: Ohh by the way ....."Sorry about last weekend, my wife was online and I wasn't home. I read your PSN messages after the fact."........I am making the deal with her now LOL

This.

The Chapparal has no top end speed meaning at likes of Le Mans and Monza it will be destroyed on pure pace, but it manages tyres better. Targa Florio might be a Chap troll-fest (it was 15 seconds up on my Ford time in testing) but it's standard, so come night it won't se every well. Jags a raging beast, Ford is a thundering warhorse. Vette is stupidly quick but weighs as much as TWO Ferrari's, and Challenger is easy to drive and adapt to.

Sportscar Racing is about variety. Too many restrictions and you lose the spirit of sportscars and endurance.

speaking of time, hopefully this should start as the 500 finishes! whooo, sunday afternoon racing :D.
