I used this at ~595pp on Sport soft tires (except a soaked Red Bull Ring I used Inters) and it did well, no issues.

Alright I've figured it out, I hope they don't nerf This car but the WRX Gr.B Road Car is a beast. For this specific Championship I had the following: Works for both rain, shine or intermittent weather: In rain you'll run the up and on dry, with half way decent driving you will win:

WRX Gr.B Road Car

With below Settings - PP = 598.89

Power Restrictor - 85
Turbo - Medium RPM
Tires - Racing: Intermediate
Brake System - Racing (Slotted Discs)
Transmission - Fully Customizable: Racing (no custom settings)

Car Requirements / Applications

  • <= 600 PP
  • TB
  • No Drivetrain restrictions (or 4WD Specific)

This car is stupid fast, stable and no real need for assisted options.

I used the Porsche 997. The first go at it I was sitting 2nd in points going into Dragon Trail. The damn AI pit maneuvered me twice going into the COD. Then the next lap a car brake checks me coming out of it and I spin again. Wound up 4th in championship. The next time I finish 2nd at RBR and start the next race but forgot to change the wet tires. :banghead: I ran it anyway and somehow finished 7th. The last race I had the lead until a GTR comes out of nowhere on the last lap and takes first from me. I tied in the championship with Mik Hizal but took 3rd.

I may revisit this championship using different cars. I like the challenge and the fact that the same drivers don't always finish in the same position each race. It makes you feel like you have a chance to win even if you have a bad race.

Same question for you! Which upgrades did you use ?

Not much of a tune here. Really just some basic upgrades, racing hard tires, sports suspension and stock transmission. Just gave it another run to make sure that I'm talking about the same championship. After consuming a few drinks today and leisurely driving around the track, was past everyone by the end of the long straightaway on lap 3 of trial mountain. Definitely was done with them by end of lap 2 when I was trying the first time. R32 is like a cheat code.

So far it went pretty well with the BMW M3 ; Subaru WRX Road Car and the Ferrari F430.

If you are driving on a budget the F430 comes as price car in one of the Menu-Racing Events ( since i cant remember which one let´s just hope it is not the WTC600 ).

Hey y’all,

So I don’t know who this will help but I took the Ford GT ‘06, slapped some intermediate tires on it (cause it will rain on at least one track) and put in a closed ratio transmission. I was really struggling with this one but that’s what worked for me. Get as much acceleration as possible and drive dirty and you’ll get it. Got 2nd overall but starting last and then having the top 3-6 challenging made things very difficult (for me).

Good luck!

I did that with Castrol TOM’S Supra and wet-intermediat tyres. I had to restrict the PP to enter the race.
Same, the car lacks a bit top speed but it has insane cornering speed, as long as you're running clean laps you should be first.

Yes Castrol Toms Supra for me also.
You will need Intermidiate tyres and a Power Restrictor.
Had to adjust Aero, ECU and restrictor to make the PP, Corner speed is key as you get killed on the straights.

Did it with the Porsche 911 GT3 '09, with a bit of tuning (mainly weight reduction). Got podium each time but no wins. Hopefully it was not the same pilots who take the win and I win the event with points.

Did not used rain tyres on RBR, it would have been easier maybe. But I was not aware that it would rain.

I have to try it again to get 1st spot in each of the tracks.

My first try was with the Ford GT. I was not really happy with that car. I struggled especially in the rain. I need a bit more stability. Overall i finshed 4th. The next try was with tuned BMW M3 '03. It felt much better. After a stupid mistake I only finished 4th overall.

After that i saw this thread an i gave tuned Scirocco a try. First race in the wet felt really good. I won the championship really easy.

Working on my second attempt now, ironically after finishing… 4th… with my… Ford GT… lol giving the Civic I’ve seen in other comments a try before going with the BMW or VW.

I didn't have much luck with the Civic, it did worse than my R32 GTR on Red Bull Ring, consistently 2-3 sec slower laps and placed 4th. Both overtake on the corners and lack on the straights, with the civic being better in the corners but lacking more on the straights. I did tune it to 590pp, then bought the full engine balance with the hope of detuning it. To get to 599PP it ended up with 30 less HP than if I left it tuned without the full engine balance! Odd! Not a smart move that one, so maybe that was the issue... I did use intermediate tyres, and sports soft on the GTR. Both very easy to handle in the rain, with the GTR being more forgiving on the corners where the civic will lose a lot of speed if you don't hit corners right, correcting will make the exit speed drop a lot more than the GTR.

I got 3rd overall in my GTR... it has a wide body and full aero and a lot of mods, so I get 350bhp and 1250kg with a 50kg weight ballast slightly towards the back (it's 1200kg due to stage 4 weight reduction normally) to hit 599PP.

Might just have to try the Castrol Toms Supra.

Castrol Tom's Supra did it easily, detuned with power restrictor to min (70%) and the rest with ECU for about 323 HP. Detuning with the ECU first then power restrictor gives like 20% less max torque but the same power for the same PP, very stupid that and clearly broken. I realise the torque curve is different, but still.

It needs about half the braking distance that the racing civic needed, haha. The civic was already only needing just over half the distance to brake compared to the AI cars. I was in first place shortly into the 3rd lap.

I thought weather in the red bull ring WTC600 race was consistent, but I think it was raining more this try also, which always makes the AI drive slower than I drive in the wet. Even in stupid Porsche 911's with the engine in the wrong place. The kept up until the end because it stopped raining just before I got into 1st.

GTR nismo absolutely destroyed it for me
It's what I used to get through it, a super all rounder! Used intermediates for Red Bull Ring - then forgot the PP lowered when I took them off for the next races so I could put the power limiter back up a bit! Anyway fixed that and got the result.

Like others I thought I was the only one having an issue with this one.

This is where I normally get stuck on GT games. A Championship I just can't beat or the license tests.

I've tried Nissan R32, Supra 20, and the Ford GT 06 and can't get better than 5th. Guess I'll try to earn enough to by the Nismo and give it a shot next even though I have to tone it done.

The R32 handles well enough, but I can't close the gaps after 5th place or so. That and early on the AI is ramming me off the road.

Yes this can be annoying. I brake after them, take the inside line and am ahead of them once we both start turning and they just stick to their line and wedge out the back end of your car... fun times. You have to get a bit more strategic with the AI. It sucks when you're stuck behind one going extra slow in the middle of the pack and suddenly your lap time is down 4 sec. I get really good at finding overtake methods but every now and then I push too hard and they make me pay for it!

I went decent enough with the R32. Mine had all aero and wide body/wheels, around 350hp and 1250kg with a ballast towards the back somewhat. I only use standard tcs (3) and weak abs for aides usually but on the harder races I have turned on ASC, give that a try if you have it off. Playing with a G923 wheel on a Trak Racer wheelstand. I'm usually a controller kinda guy but even with this entry level setup I doubt I could go back.

Is this the event that starts at a rainy Red Bull Ring and has Suzuka and DT Seaside?

I used an R8 4.2 '07. Barely had to do anything to it aside from fit Sport Soft tyres. The AWD grip is invaluable at RBR, though you might want to stiffen the suspension setup for the dry races.

The R8 is an underrated sleeper of a car.

The Audi R8 was awesome in this circuit. I upgraded everything that did not impact PP (transmission, suspension, clutch, nitrous). I used intermediate tires and also did weight reduction up through level two. You are going to have to play with the power restricter and ballast to get under 600pp but I was able to secure first place by the fourth lap on Red Bull Ring. Could have taken it sooner but I have a hate/hate relationship with the third turn on that track.

I'm using a tuned R32 liner that I used earlier. SS tyres stage 1 mods and stage 3 lightened. About 590PP. Stable enough in the wet.

I had to quit when on race 3 because the Mrs arrived and you can't save your progress. Nice one PD.

Honestly once I figured the way to get the PP down was to go Sports Hard this wasn't very hard at all.

I was struggling trying different detuned cars with Racing Softs but it just doesn't allow you to keep enough grunt.

I just ran this yesterday, and used the Honda Civic Type R, tuned up to 583pp, and used intermediate tires for all 3 races. I was worried it would start raining during the other two races, but it didn't.

Easily won RBR, and DT, didn't take the lead at Suzuka until the last lap, and second place was ready to capitalize if I made a mistake.
