WTCC | World Touring Car Championship | Super 2000 regs

I could well be interested, depending on the day and time. I'll provisionally join with an Alfa 147 (but may use the Focus ST).

How will the 'production' cars and 'race' cars (eg. 320i TC) be evened out? The 'race' cars have adjustable front downforce, whilst those which are 'production' cars do not....

I'm using a production car but I've just installed aero parts to give me that option as hes said nothing about no aero or can you not add them to the Alfa?

On most cars, only the rear aero can be adjusted. The front aero has a set value, usually 0, suggesting that the front aero is there for form rather than function.

Oh right I see :/. I guess we will have to wait and see how many go in race cars as opposed to production cars and maybe have two different classes depending on the difference in performance.

The "race cars" will not have any upgrades allowed, only racing medium tyres, oil change, body overhaul, engine overhaul, thats it.

Minimum weight for road cars 260 HP and under: 1140 KG
Minimum weight for road cars 261 HP and over: 1155 KG
Minimum weight for BMW 320i Touring Car: 1170 KG

thanks for your reminder on aero, the lexus race car and the integra type r Touring Car are now banned,

besides, those cars are Super Taikyu spec, NOT S2000 spec.

Are you looking to change the race date (june10)??? When will the first race date/time be confirmed/decided will need to work around other events perhaps.??

June 10 and after is when I am free from school

Of course I am still waiting for more drivers (wont start it until 12 or more)
and I need to allow testing/getting credits for tune parts time too, to be realistic, june 11? 18? 25?

Have you done one of these before?

.

I'm going to go with the Focus ST or BMW 135i* for this. The Alfa just isn't quick enough. I have a very good setup for the 147, but it's about 2 seconds slower than my Focus which I haven't set up yet.

*I did look at the BMW 135i as I have one which suits the rules, but I don't think it goes with the spirit of touring cars?

out of the box the 135i is powerful enough (just need to take out 1 HP with limiter), but its main downfall is its weight, I remember when tuning it, I couldn't get it down to 1155 KG, BUT, its real wheel drive so advantage right there.

Perhaps you should look into the BMW 330i?

I can only manage 2:08's with 147 @Monza, but thats with 225 HP and 1155 KG, my accord does 1:48's with 300 HP and 1157 KG.

Maybe you should check out the Megane? Brera? Golf?
The standard class Alfa's, are also worthy cars too,

The Brera is the Q4 version, so not eligible for this series?

I need to play about with a couple of other cars, but so far the Focus and Integra are very close. I have an Atenza which I can detune to suit the regs, so I'll give that a go too.

My Atenza is getting nowhere near 1.48 at monza despite tuning to 299bhp and maximum weight reduction. It must be the weight of the car because although they weren't perfect runs, they weren't bad enough to justify 10seconds lol. :/ I'm guessing I may need to re-think my car choice.

Monza 1.48's!! Cant get any better than 2.03's with STOCK BMW 320 touring car are we going to be close performance wise???👎

O which track?? Have i got it wrong thought Monza next??:dunce: My mistake thats another championship im in wot a burke soz.

oh ok, not eligible.

147 + high rpm turbo = 301 HP, But I still need to test it.

You gotta step up your game 👍

I have been practicing and setting up for weeks now.

Setup alone wouldn't count for 15 seconds :S. I'm running similar times to Johnboy with 2.02s and 2.03s in the Atenza around Monza so I can't see where a 1.48 has come from even with lots of practice :/. I'm not accusing you of lieing but the difference in performance across the cars sounds huge at the minute so we will have to do that test session when there are a few more drivers to see how many people can be competitive. :)

Please keep in mind I'm doing/using:
offline (since psn HK is still down)
G25 wheel (if that even matters)

The offline mode alone accounts for 5-7 sec's maybe?
So realistically in online, 1:55 at least.

Im with Matt yes my testing was online which is slower i agree, we will need to do some major testing before launch if some drivers are running 7 secs or so a lap slower thats if we are all on the same track here??? Mine and Matts time is Monza remember, my worry would be people will simply loose interest if the races are not competitive.:nervous Trying to get 3/4 differnt cars competitive is hard enough so the amount we are trying here will need alot of work.

I am also running 2.02's in a range of cars (Focus ST, Integra, Atenza).

I'm happy to do an online test session over the weekend if anyone else is interested? Perhaps we should try out a couple of different tracks to see how we compare? It might be that Monza favours one particular car, being a 'power' circuit.

Think the 320i touring car could be a bad choice 2.03's/4's with max downforce this wont regulate with 480pp plus extra weight still to be added oh well see how first race goes.:grumpy:
