So everybody knows about races at Opera Paris, right? And if you don't, you're about to learn. I was doing the first Pan/Euro series race at Paris and the 2nd place car (a TVR Cerbera Speed 6) smashes into that one guardrail before the beginning of the race. The 3rd-place car (Jaguar XJ220) then cuts around the TVR and takes 2nd even before the race begins.

I managed pole position in my Jaguar XKR Performance so I've basically got this huge window of a lead at the beginning. :dopey: All of that is a given and happens almost every time at a Paris race. The "WTF" part is the Jaguar then somehow managed to smash a wall going into the right/left chicane (Turns 9 and 10) and got nearly sideways! Then all the others (three TVRs and an AMG) all pile up behind the Jag as it sits there, trying to figure out how to get out of its predicament!

I had no idea of any of this until later when I watched the replay, cuz I was already far ahead by that point. But it made me laugh because I never seen anything this bad, especially from the Jaguar!

During superspeedway 150 miles, the R92CP hits the pit barrier and enters the pit spinning!

I noticed it because I entered to pits just behind it, 1 lap ahead.

Playing GT4 at the very beginning. In tracks like the 'Ring, I was all over the place and was like "Oh s**t, this is like actually racing, I have to use the brakes!"

Another moment was getting to drive the OPTION Stream Z. Horrible!
Then, I remember a race held at Laguna Seca with LMPs where everybody would get out - in every damn lap.

Racing in Arcade mode in the Formula GT, against other Formula GT's, around Test Course, thats when I had my WTF moment.

I was coming around, behind the leading car, we were both about to lap the last two guys, when his wheel 'locks' and his car turns towards the barrier at 350 KMP/H. His car flips into the air doing a double barrel-roll and landing safely. Then he continued to race.

That's what I was mentioning. This happens in GT Mode, too.

I have a new one. During the FGT race at New York, all of the AI cars, even Bob, hit the wall slightly as they come onto the last straight. They seem to turn a bit too wide and just hit the wall. I watched all 6 cars do so.

You run a clean race and when you watch the replay at a certain point your car crash!!! and after that... it is not your driving anymore WTF.

My latest WTF moment was actually pretty embarrassing, even though I was the only one who witnessed it. :embarrassed:

Whenever I'm testing a new car, I have a habit of letting Bob drive it around at x3 speed first, just to give him some Machine and Track points, then I'll take over. This gives me something to judge my driving by, but I also simply like destroying his lap time! So he's driving some slow car around Motorland...I think it's a Nissan Cube. By the time I got back to stop Bob, he had something like 48 laps done.

Which is not a problem. I'm always able to kill Bob within a lap or 2. But (I swear) I start doing laps around Motorland and I cannot beat his time!!! I'm up to 10, 11, 12 laps and I'm still like a half-second behind every time, even if I get a good lead early on! WTF? :ouch:

I finally got past his time, by a measly .2xx of a second! Something like that! :ill: It was pretty frightening.

Save a replay of a run of a car on R5's then go put N1's on it and enjoy. Just make sure its a car that actually needs Racing tires.

Perhaps Bob wore out the Nissan Cube's engine and you were driving with a 10-15 horsepower disadvantage?

I wouldn't think that 48 laps would wear out the Cube's engine, but maybe your Cube already had a lot of miles and it reached the tipping point for horsepower loss?

Might need to change the oil in the cube.

The things that surprised me the most is the AI and/or Bob on New York in most cars. Coming down the straight on the short side they will smash into the wall at the 90 almost every lap.

Also the F1 race on Laguna Seca. I can't tell you how many times I saw the F1s driven by the Ai go out into the sand in the left hander after the corkscrew. It was so bad that I won the race easily using the Playstation LMP car.

That race was really fun. The F1 cars managed to just go wide on the exit to Rainy Curve and usually when they break pavement, the cars go off quicker than a NASCAR Cup car that races on rain. I ran that race on A-Spec and I laughed every time they went off course while I only went off once due to staying out too long.

I mentioned this on another thread, but a WTF moment I had also occurred in NYC. I managed to win a race with a Mini (on B-Spec) by a last second pass, as the car passed the other Cooper right at the line. The game though the finish was so impressive that somehow the timing and scoring penalized the 2nd Cooper 5 seconds and my Bob won by 5 seconds.

I've got a good bad moment from GT4.
Why is it every time you set your car on steady in B-Spec mode, (the car is suppose to be careful and not go off track) the car continuously drives too fast around a corner, flies into the grass/dirt, and keeps reversing and forwarding for about a minute, when absolutely nothing is blocking its way. It's like a mime trapped in a freaking box that only he can see.

Croooow, isn't it just strange that if you spin out and the car goes to controlling itself (I celebrate my wins by sliding across the Start/Finish.)

But the car sits at the barrier, doing nothing but crashing into the wall, then reverse, then crash, until it finally moves away.

That reminds me of a good one. I was watching my friend drive the Capri Rally. I think it was the reverse direction, the one where there is the 2 switchback corners just past the starting line. Anyway as he was coming into the corner a bit wide the AI car tried to tuck inside and got ran into the corner of the wall. My friend goes on up the track and we do not give it another thought until coming around of the second lap I notice the little indicator on the map for the opponent car up ahead. He was still in the same spot backing up and hitting the wall again and again. Well my friend was watching the road and did not see the car until it was right there in front of him so he slammed it in the rear and the car went on up the track.

It is the only time I have saw a car lapped on that track in a 2 lap race and the only time I have saw one stuck in the same sport for like 2 1/2 minutes. Was pretty funny.

I had one last year. Was doing the Endurance Race event of Super Speedway 150 miles with a BMW V12 LMR... After about half distance, it was time for them to make a stop and this Nissan R89C or something I couldn't remember was set to come into the pit but with a worn tyres, the car just gone straight on to the pit wall divider. After 10 laps or so, the car kept on accelerating on to the wall without any effort to reverse it and get back into the pit. I laughed really hard for that and just after some laps later, the car managed to reverse and get into the pit....

Owh PD :P

Ha ha, I wish I could say that. Even if this were the case, it was simple bad driving (on my part). I don't remember changing any oil. I would start the Motorland lap wind up with a good lead over Bob, but by that last curve, he'd always catch and pass me! :ouch: I kept missing a couple brake points and messing up that final curve somehow.

I've seen this happen, too! Yea it cracks me up! It's like the equivalent of a car that can't get its engine started after a shunt off-track I guess.

Just like a GT2 moment, when I was racing at Seattle full course with the muscle cars, the Stingray crashed into the wall after the uphill road jumps. Then, he decides to reverse after everybody passed him in the 2nd lap when he was still in the first.

Hitting someone at Suzuka and them ending up stuck at the final chicane. Lapped in a 2 lap race...

Many months ago when a Citroen 2CV was in a classics race. I mean, come on, there's a Shelby Cobra in the event so this shouldn't even be a factor... except it was. Puttering around as the leaders were well on their way to the finish line, I and the 2nd place Cobra approach the line with the Citroen just ambling along to complete the first of 2 laps. I pass the Citroen easily, but instead of following me, the Cobra driver chooses the less logical option of going THROUGH the Citroen, and since 2 solids don't usually allow one to pass through the other, the Citroen ended up approaching a speed of 81 MPH as he crossed the line in 6th to finish his first lap and the Cobra lost 4 seconds in that dumb move.

It is possible to win at the Real Circuit Tours, on the 'Ring especially, using an LM car against supercars like the Minolta and Nissan R92, because they start the race on soft tyres, and by the 3rd lap, they can barely make it to the Karussell.

Yep possible but look out for the Jag. I ran it once when that car was in there and it managed to slingshot around me on the final straight. I had to crash him at the last corner before the pits to get the win and I was driving the 787B turning very low 6 minutes laps. That was the fastest lap I have saw to date by the AI in anything other than a F1

Later I went back in the Ford GT LM and the Jag was not there. Easily beat the field but laps not as fast as the previous race.

There is another 2 lap race on the ring where an RUF comes out and just destroys the field on the first lap but then looses it's tires on the second lap and usually finishes dead last.
