That's it folks I am done waiting! All my defenses got destroyed with FM6 .

I decided I am ordering a Thrustmaster TX in July. I will build a rig for my BMW seat in August so that I am ready for September! I won't be able to buy the rig/shifter/pedals, but I can add these later on, since I will prepare the rig to be very adjustable!

I haven't decided completely on what version of Xbox I will buy, but I have decided that I am getting the Ultimate edition of FM6!
Once August comes I'll know all the Xbox offers and choose wisely the cheaper option available....
There are going to be some very very delicate moves with my credit card .

/waits for a year until deciding when to buy an Xbox one
/decides finally and announces it
/ after 10 minutes referendum is announced (which means probably no more euro for us....)

I'm waiting for word on the ultimate or limited edition physical copy. Every retailer has only the standard available.
The FM6 console looks so good, but I pre-orderd the controller at the microsoft store since I collect all the limited edition controllers.

As for the rewards, it would've been nice if they made all the Forza titles backwards compatible, hopefully soon, then everyone can fill their garages all on the X1.

Like I said in the other thread MS ought to get off the pot and make an announcement one way or the other whether there'll be an Ultimate Edition disk or whether it's download only. Perhaps somebody should ask them on the official forums. Right now I see a lot of people waiting around for something that might never materialize.

It doesn't bother me at all. I'll get that version either way, and since a digital can't sell out, once September hits I'll just get that if they still haven't announced a physical copy.

It will be addressed at a later date. There's still 2.5 months.

I just found that the limited edition console doesn't come with the ultimate edition of the game...might end up getting a regular console with a hard copy of the game for at least 70 quid cheaper outright without even looking for a deal.

Anybody got any thoughts? I will be using my Xbox for Forza 6 and Horizon 2 really, so the terabyte isnt that big a deal to me plus I'd rather a hard copy but the console is lovely so gaaah...what to do. :indiff:

It's a six in one, half a dozen in the other situation. I'm only going to be using my One for Forza things too (and PCARS, if I can convince myself to play it more), so space hasn't been much of an issue, and shouldn't be even with the inevitable FH3 and FM7 (plus any backwards compatible things like FM4). If you prefer hard copies, I'd say buy a regular console.

Besides, if you did get the Forza console, and stuck with hard copies, you'd have to hear that awful sound more often. :P

Normal console + ultimate. That hard drive space is going nowhere fast, trust me :)

I bought a 1TB Advanced Warfare Edition when it came on offer for about £300 when I was looking at Forza 5 so I'm already good for space. I'll also be getting the Standard Edition as I'm really stingy on limited editions unless a hard copy of the Ultimate comes up with a really good deal.

Besides, the One does support external hard drives, so even when space does become an issue, you can always migrate less-played games to an external drive. Obviously it's gonna need to be a fast one if you're planning on playing games directly from it, and externally powered hard drives are your best bet, but it's something. Plus you can take however many games and play them on any Xbox.

As I understand it anything USB 3.0 capable should be faster than the internal hard drive, even Samsung's bus powered M3 series. Now if only I knew anyone else in real life who bought an Xbox One I could take my games round to them.

[EDIT] I wonder whether the cars in the Deluxe/Ultimate bundled Fast & Furious pack will feature nitrous oxide systems like their FH2 add-on's namesakes and if so whether that means NOS is an optional extra for other cars.

Doubt it, they didn't in FH2.

Seems unlikely they would put it in FM if they wouldn't put it in their arcadish game.

That makes sense. I didn't get the FH2 pack so I wasn't sure. They probably would've made a big thing about it if it were the case, though.

Same here, I'll be happy to download the deluxe version if there's no hard copy comfirmed in the near future.

Of course, I still hope that there is a hard copy. I mean, I have no problem with digital downloading, but I just prefer having a hard copy on hand.

They did. However, it only worked during certain races, not in free roam.
If by separate races you mean the Fast & Furious demo/promotion/spin-off/whatever then yeah.

But in the actual Forza Horizon 2 game, if you buy the separate car pack there is no NOS.

A forum member over at another forum I frequent who I have no reason not to trust asked T10 about storefronts and got this reply.

There are no storefronts in FM6, the curation system used in FM5 has been revamped and significantly improved.

Browsing for liveries is pretty tedious in FM5; I wonder whether they're going to force or at least strongly encourage painters to include a slew of new keywords when sharing their designs.

I was never a fan of the virtual paywall for tunes and paints although I can understand why content creators would be. On the other hand storefronts made it easier for those creators to advertise their work under one roof, as it were, rather than having it dispersed throughout the game listings. A "see more work by this creator" button could be at least a step in the right direction regarding this.

I don't mind so much having to search a bit when it comes to getting new liveries. What
does p me off is the fact that your own liveries are not saved in a group for each car

FM5's livery system was absolutely terrible. Based on pre-launch statements, the system was supposed to curate lists for you based on your personal preferences (and download history), except it never did that and the first 10 spots were always filled with the same designs applied to every single car. I've never downloaded a Tron livery and never will. Stop showing them to me.

They also need to find a way of de-duping the multiple revisions of the same livery from a single designer. "Here's my design. And here's that same design with the logo shifted by 1 pixel."

The biggest problem I had with fm5's livery system is that you can only search for liveries for your current car, which is completely useless if you're just looking for a specific theme e.g anime character, brand etc for any of the cars in the game.

Yes the F5 livery system is a huge step backward for the series. It was nailed perfectly in F4 especially with the storefront and auction house. I cant stand the current system in F5 and FH2. I used to spend months creating designs in F1, F2, F3, and F4. Now I hardly waste my time at all with this current system.

Another broken feature is livery payouts. Despite my Pirelli World Challenge SLS AMG livery being downloaded over 500 times (I got the badge), I never earned a single credit from it. No, instead I got that stupid message every day telling me that people were downloading my livery and with more use I might make credits.
