All I can say is if that was running on real hardware then either they took some game footage from the real hardware and altered it for the trailer or that the video was a movie running on the hardware. No way the game goes into slow motion and stuff like that and if it does then I surely would not want to play it.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Right now I am more interested in info on the new Xbox. How much will it cost? Will it still provide support for the wireless wheels that worked with the 360 such as the CSR Elite.

Also interested to know a bit more about game play changes and such.

That video was pre-rendered just like the Forza 3 reveal trailer. It also did not seem very sim like at all, more of a GRID feel but we know its going to be a sim.

Hopefully it will be more like Forza and not like Grid. I really did not care for Grid at all and while I have my gripes about Forza it is still one of the best out there or was as of the last 3 installments.

I don't really see how Forza 5 would be all that different from the previous four in terms of gameplay and realism.

Well, there's a little thing call Blu-ray and an 8-core processor and 8GB of memory. The 360 had a tri-core processor and a old school DVD-ROM. While the gameplay might not improve that much, the graphics and realism definitely have the tools to improve quite a bit.

There's a reason FM3 and FM4 used multiple DVDs. Physical media size has little to nothing to do with graphics and or realism.

ok, I'm skeptical now. all over the internet the word is that it's not gameplay footage. Also T10 has a history of exaggerations.

It is difficult to argue that GT6 is not 2 years late after this announcement.
I hope it helps Sony and PD to figure out something for PS4's Gran Turismo before 2016.

This is working out nicely: At the end of the year those of us who are multiplatform can buy GT6 for our existing PS3, and purchase an Xbox One with Forza 5.

I look forward to enjoying all the great features of Forza 5 and GT6, although I suspect I'll start to hate how horribly slow the PS3 is alongside an Xbox One with almost instant game launching ;)

I guess we'll see at E3, but for the time being, it was a great showcase, of the new engine. New shaders, lighting, tire degradation, and maybe road debris. The announcer thing sounds like maybe theres an spectator mode of sorts, kinda like the leagues made around in which they insert some commentary. And with the advent of the game DVR/Sharing system, sounds even like you can add your commentary to your shared replays?

Nonetheless exciting times ahead

Yeah, remember all those day one leaderboards of GT5? The uber realistic handling of Shift 2? The 1000 detailed cars of GT5? The realistic look of FM3?

It's like all those fanwars about GT5 and Forza pics, all they are doing is fighting over photo modes

"Yep, they're real. Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed in an interview this afternoon that the footage you saw for Forza Motorsport 5 and Remedy's Quantum Break this morning are running on Xbox One dev kits. Not renders or some other trickery, you skeptics. I know some out there were questioning some of the screenshots and footage from this morning. Stop. They're the real deal."

Im leaning so heavily towards purchasing my first Xbox / Forza

This game looks amazing.

Day one purchase for me.

Although I can't say this trailer gave away a Forza vibe at all. Everything seems like I am watching new Project Gotham Racing - which is not a bad thing IMO - but still it does not give away the "Forza" spirit.

Worth mentioning is that Prague looks fantastic and new lightning engine (no more IBL "reverse engineered sun" crap, this is proper lighting finally - at least in the trailer and on the screenshots) doe wonders for the urban surroundings.

I can't wait for E3 and first gameplay. This lightning and 60fps will be amazing.

X1 will almost certainly continue to use Xinput (XID) protocol and no USB wheel can't communicate with X1 in the same way it couldn't communicate with X360. Sad, but that is the reality. Of course, I would so love to be wrong.

I have to fully agree with you on it being a title to purchase the system to get at launch. I also get the PGR vibe from the trailer with it being a City and maybe the whole Prague thing. Looks a bit like Stockholm from PGR2 maybe.

Get saving, I have a gut feeling their could very well be a new steering wheel to buy as well.

Not joking, but not saying cartoony in the literal sense. Lighting looks "cartoony"
Forza engine just does not do good lighting in terms of the realism look.

I think cartoony is a terrible choice of words. If anything it looks like high quality CG animation. Cartoony implies a fake, surreal look which this does not have.

People as gamers are disgusting me today and possibly in the future. Everything is either cartoonish or plain bad, and these things are said with no point behind the saying or no sources. So frustrating.

The Track in the Trailer is Milan.

AKA: the track you'll spend about 50% of your Forza 5 career racing.

At least, if it's anything like the previous Forza's that tend focus a lot on one track. Like the Alps for FM4 and Sanoma in FM3

Which leads me to what was going to be my original response: If you don't know how to express yourself without using such a transparent adjective as "cartoony" or some variation thereof (which makes absolutely no sense) consider consulting a dictionary.

Nothing in the trailer looked remotely cartoon-like.
