When you say "I learned how to drive in Gran Turismo".

When you say "I learned how to drive in Gran Turismo".

Spot on.

--------------------------

...you find yourself thumbing through the official guide comparing grid line ups power to weight ratios to pick a suitable car.

...you keep reaching for circle on your steering wheel to handbrake round the supermarket car park.

...speed in real life no longer feels fast. Then you look at the speedo and fear for your license. Whoa boy!

...during a ride out in your real car, before you stop, you look forward to seeing that good bit on the replay. Then realise you won't get one and be gutted.

...you engine brake and take the optimum racing lines. Even at 30mph in traffic.

...you find yourself cruising round Monaco at the speed limit. Just for the "ride out"

...you dismiss superb cars as too slow.

...you have the GT4 "World" menu screen as your mobile phones screensaver.

...you wake up screaming "No I don't want to fit it now, it takes twice as long."

...you find yourself watching your replay playlist (again) rather than television when you can't be bothered to play.

...you have filled 2 USB sticks in photo mode.

...your girlfriend says "I don't know how much more motorsports I can take."

...you spend hours setting up a car even though there are no races for it.

...you know what's wrong with a car setup after the first corner.

...you struggle to lift your cup of tea after hours of force feedback abuse.

...your mates won't play you anymore.

...you know what's wrong with a car setup after the first corner. Guilty.

...your mates won't play you anymore. Guilty x 463 and a half.
...When you re-enter the GTS class in GTPLMS with half a round left for an excuse to play GT4. Guilty.

EDIT: Just remembered:

...When you get sick and are stuck on the couch and B-Spec the 24h of Le Mans because it passes the time. Guilty

It's true!

Granted, I'm keeping my DFP, because I can't afford a G25 - with the clutch and the real H-pattern gearbox - but, still, I've learned a lot of stuff about cars and car control thanks to Gran Turismo :)

Guilty of these:crazy:

When youre driving in your real car and get passed by one of the cars featured in GT4 and say to yourself, yeah I've got one of those and I have mine setup better than that and I could blow him away if I wanted to.

When the EU intro for Prologue sends shivers down your spine, and you shed a tear...

Jeez, I'm sad :dunce:

EDIT: GT5 Prologue, that is.

...when you decide to mute the sound at the beginning of the GT4 intro, and start playing your own music to see how does it fits with it, and you jump in happiness when you manage to synchronize both.

...when you find yourself sat in the shed compiling a list of cars you are going to set up for drifting. And can strangely remember the most obscure cars, because you are sad and have looked through your cars thousands of times.

Just guilty right now.

... when i told my dad this morning when he came in to give me my exam results, to not disturb me for another ten minutes until the end of a race!

...When you are on the top menu GT4's simulation mode and you switch over to your TV to watch some of your favorite shows and you know what you are doing in GT4's menu without switching back to it.
...When you are shopping for food in the super market and put the heavier stuff towards the rear of your cart because you know that too much weight in the front causes understeer.
...When you use the OUT-IN-OUT turning method when walking in the streets or when you are riding your bike
...when you try bump drafting people in the sidewalks LOL!!!

Two more of this category to throw in:

...when you try to match the velocity of cars with your bike on a straith line
or preferably in a downhill section. (talking about speeds of 50-60 km/h)

...when you cannot resist overtaking other people riding bikes because they are slower than you.
(Once you meet a biker worthy of a challenge you get a great adrenaline rush doing so)

Post #2001 , this theard is very mutch alive!

-When you start to seeing spots
-When your eyes start to flicker.
-When you start to get nauseated.
-When the sun is starting to come up.
-When you can't fall asleep because the menu music won't get out of your head.
-When you can't stand up because your back developed a permanent arch.

Guilty of both, did both just today in fact! Take that Mr. Camaro Driver!

...When you remember your friend has had your GT3 for the past week.

When you race in Enthusia, and spin out, because you were too afraid to countersteer thanks to muscle memory of instant snapback.

If you try to drift in GT4, if you aren't careful, you will snap back extremely fast, and crash.
In Enthusia, if you aren't careful with the throttle, you will spin out. The two drifting types are completely different.
