2001 BMW 750i XL

$_27.JPG

Thought that the 750li was the longest E38 you could get? Think again. The 750i XL was an even longer 7-Series, and only 899 were produced (sold in Europe only). They were powered by a 5.4L V12 making 333 hp, and all were fitted with 20 inch Alpina alloys.

The Citroën Berlingo Flanerie; a Mehari-esque Berlingo made for parties (that's how it was promoted) by Sbarro, which sadly never left concept phase after its presentation in Geneva in 1999. Now it will be up for sale, in a Citroën Heritage auction to be held December 10th in France;

Estimated price is somewhere between 9.000 and 11.000 euros, no reserve. Anyone in the market for a French safari bus, now is your time!

I bet @Harsk100 would like to see this one.

These two unknowns cropped up in the midst of another thread.

Lotus Eclat.
It was based on the Elite Type 75 but had a fastback body style which offered more practicality with storage in the boot, albeit with less headroom above the rear seats.

Kingfisher Sprint.
Only 35 were built, and was based on another car I didn't know about, the Mini Jem, which in itself was an attempt to replace the Dizzy Dart. That one I do know about.

I thought @ToyGTone had posted in the wrong thread, but then I Googled it.

Turns out Subaru themselves made it to address the craze consumers had for retro styled cars at the time. From 1999 to 2000, 5,000 cars were built.

To be honest I think it's more because Subaru did it to the Impreza. I think it'd have looked better on the smaller proportions of a Kei car like the Vivio, but just the fact that they made the Impreza Casa Blanca instead makes it seem worse. Don't really, could just be me...

IIRC that's not a Subaru's work. Some aftermarket company makes bodykits like this, not just for Impreza, but also for Nissan March.

It was a limited production model sold by Subaru. I'm 90% sure the March you refer to is an Autech.

Sorry for the Double post.

While I was Watching an old 1981 Ad for Chevrolet in Kuwait, among the Malibu, Camaro and Caprice, there was a Chevy that I never heard of before.

It's called Chevrolet Citation or something like that.

(Ignore the watermark, I just took a screenshot from the video).

Another Porsche I've discovered that I'm shocked I didn't know about (or I forgot about), the 930 3.3 Turbo S. While it's not technically called a Turbo S, the S refers to the performance package for the 3.3 Turbo with the 930 - 66S engine. The car had a different front bumper than the normal 930, a 330bhp engine, quad exhaust and sport seats (similar to the ones in the 959). It was the Turbo S before the Turbo S became it's own separate model.

Then there is the limited Sonauto 930 Turbo S, the last 10 930s produced and specially for the French market by French importer Sonauto.

Seen it before, I KNOW I have.

THERE it is!

In all seriousness, I had seen that bumper before, but I always assumed it was a very understated aftermarket piece. Didn't know it was OEM Porsche, and wasn't aware of the Turbo S.
That was my first thought too, actually, that the Blackbird was just a modified Turbo. So I've probably seen pictures of the real 930 Turbo S and assumed the bumper was aftermarket too.
