Correct me if I'm wrong, though I'm pretty sure I'm not, but the V12 in the M8 got further developments and ended up powering the McLaren F1, and later on BMW's own LMR...

Hmm, I've heard that too, but I've also heard that is a common misconception - I've never seen anything to support it, other than logic, so I'm not too sure.

Crash
Yeah, that's the real M8 prototype. BMW and M never admitted to building and testing one, despite all the rumors and constant questions. However, M finally admitted and revealed the M8 prototype about a year ago to the press. During that same event, they showed off the E34 M5 cabriolet and a couple other one off prototypes

There's always been some pics of it from when it tested originally, BMW were never keen to admit to it though. Prior to last years outing I think it was falling to bits, and shoved in a corner, it definatley looks like it's been restored.

I do love BMW and BMW's, the M8 may well be my Unicorn :D

-> Out of all of those cars only two of them caught me off guard, since I've known most of them I already knew because of my VWL research findings:

Ur-Roadster

^ I wonder what are the detailed spec for this roadster.

^ This pretty made my heart into jelly. As the 3rd best car I ever drove (E46 M3 Cabrio), this would be my #2 if they made it (or if BMW would fabricate it for me). After that, I will forget every BMW made after this one. :sly:

-> I'm sorry:

^ That E30 Pick-Up is so deceiving it even doesn't look like an M3 at all. It's more like a E30 323iP sport/325iP sport. :boggled:

-> But that E30 Pick-Up really proved its world worth by just looking at it! I bet that trucklet is shedding its tears after all these years of hard and ignored beatings. :)

I know, bit of a bump, but I give you the Biziniarri Strada, made by Giotto Bizzarrini. He designed the 250 GTO.

Also, (Probably better known), the Volvo P1800S & P1800ES.

Don't know if this, or any of his collection has been posted, but it comes from Sultan of Brunei, dude has a Ferrari version of every vehicle imaginable.

This is the Zenvo ST1. Powered by a 7liter V8 making 1,104hp. Veyron killer? Weighs a lot less than a veyron at 3,020lb. Only 15 were ever made.

Ah that M8 is SOOO beautiful! Is that the legit prototype? I last heard that BMW didn't really want eyes laid on that car... it cleans up good!

I believe that was the legit prototype, and last year they did show the car again in some celebration or something in Munich. The reason the M8 didn't make it to the production line is because of safety and no market for it. They said it failed even in its prototype state... Now the car is well kept in what they called the BMW Giftschrank or in English means Poison Storage.

I only just learned about this ugly looking thing the other day, the Australian made Centaur GT. Apparently it was rather successful in its Australian GT racing, winning the 1962 season. I should have the chance to see one next month in action.

Engines were a Holden 202 with either a Repco twin cam head or a Waggot twin cam head. For those keeping up that's a pushrod to overhead cam conversion.

nah, M8 would had annoyed the living hell out of brits, aussies and rednecks.. Since they call everyone M8. ;)

Nah, Aussies would love it, because every time one rocks up we'd be all like "MAAAAAAAAAATE!!!!"

Note to Brits/rednecks: No use of the word "mate" for you, we have it copyrighted and will sue!

The Vector M12. When I found out about it years ago, I thought the company had died after the W8 turbo. Low and behold, come to find out they were at it again with this beastie. Can't say I was impressed with the styling though, and, given how long the car's production lasted, neither were too many other people.

-> Hmm, a Rambo Lambo that you can bring more friends with!!!

The Twin engined Scirocco that never was.

Simply incredible car manufactures were back then. Such a shame this wasn't done...

^ I reseached this car while adding it to my VWL along with the Porsche 928-powered Artz Golf! :sly:

^ Pretty epic (w/ the widebody) I might say! 👍

ozyran -> I saw this car at Barrett-Jackson two days ago!
