It's time to bring this thread back! I finally got inspired to make a video of my car, and I decided to include my cousin's car as well. It's like an exhaust-off. I figured it'd be a fun way to pass some time, and it turned out alright for my first edit job.

Your cuz needs to remove that straight pipe, Keef. The rasp on that is the worst I have ever heard. Doesn't even sound like he could take it 4K RPM without everyone staring at it.

Yeah, and I had the windows up on the car. So ridiculously loud. Silencer goes back on in the morning so I don't piss off my entire neighborhood.

Hardly. His VTEC starts at 4800 rpm, and that's when it gets real loud. It's great! The video must not be doing it justice because it's just sexy to the ear. Blaring loud and unrefined FTW!

KE70's have silencers? I'm so used to seeing them without them..

Nah man, my Charade. The KE70s pipe is rusting though. Sounds like a popcorn machine when I go off the gas

you should check the ignition components then if it burns in the pipe..

I'm just pulling the choke out on cold mornings and hope for the best. Couldn't care less even if the exhaust falls out one day. I'm gonna put a screw up inside the pipe one day though.. Pull the choke out and make some flames

Actually, upon another look at the vid, there is probably still a happy medium to be found between how it is at the moment and being at sump-worrying levels.

VANOS changes only the (intake)valve timing, not lift, so there's not that significant "kick". And us double-VANOS guys don't feel 'any' kick since the timing is continuously variable (intake & exhaust).

Heres a couple pics of mine. When I swapped out the A12 for the A15 a bigger exhaust was put on. Pretty much straight pipe up until where it curves up over the rear differential.

Goes ino a fairly large barrel. Had to do some cutting to get it to fit good. Couldn't tell you what brand it is.

Don't have a video of what it sounds like now since the barrel broke off but it is fairly loud now and doesn't sound as good. Have to get it fixed.

My car won't have Vanos at all.. too much electric gadgetry is bad, even if it gives more torque at lower rpms. M50-engines have my soul.

Not my car, its a member from another forum, but same list of mods and basically the same sound. Hopefully i'll have video of my own G to post sometime this summer when winter finally goes away.
