I Was wondering why there isnt a place with all of the interiors we have here at GTP....there was an ugliest thread and a guess that interior thread but not so much a "what your cars interior look like" thread so here is one now.:dopey:

Please post your car's interior and discuss what you like and don't like about it....:)

I like what Mazda did, Put the tach HUGE right in the middle. The other information is pretty straight forward but I wouldn't like the fact that on the turbo model they swap out the battery meter. However I didnt like how close the e=brake was so close to the steering wheel(relatively speaking) and thats why a smaller wheel was in order.

The seats are thin but hug you quite well.(though I've never sat in racing seats) The shifter is exactly where it should be and easy in reach, however if you have a passenger often when shifting into 5th will hit their leg.

Then the mirror controls are a little weird being in the center but nothing to really complain about. However the idiot light cluster being kind of where the sun hits gets annoying at times but hey thats why they changed it. :P
And the back seats......:lol: I actually have sat in them....with a person in the passenger seat. Not as good as the eclipse but um they are okay-ish?

So Buick's flagship car, though not the ultra model that give it a few extra amenities that my model doesn't have it has a okay layout. Very square and straightforward. I didnt get why they have 2 "information centers". I also dont like that there isnt a tach, but that was also fixed in the next iteration of the car. Well that and the speedometer only goes to 85.:yuck:

The build quality all seems very solid and the steering wheel is just nice...I really like it. But the climate control center can be troublesome because the steering wheel covers a fair amount of the buttons(if you can even call them that)

The backseats are for obvious reasons leaps and bounds more comfy.:sly:
They even both feature lighters so that you can plug stuff in them.

1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Aww the eclipse, its good. Well to a point obviously. The car feels big on the inside and the shifter is in a really nice position. The plastics used were average and not bad overall. Then the tach and speedometer are in okay places but certainly do a good job of telling me information.(well not this car though)

And I love the center console...there is just a heck of a lot of space in there!:dopey:

Then the back seats are snug and fit very well.

Well first of all.:yuck::ouch:
Its a van, and....the pedals are very close.
I dont like it. Then again its not mine.:lol:

Car interiors have gone downhill haven't they?
The cheap plastic in this car is :yuck: but certainly when driving it the position can be nice and comfortable. Other then that the seats, ALL IF THEM, are kind of like sitting on boards...

Well thats about what there is that I drive. Not all are mine but meh.
Like I said dont think this thread has been around before so yeah.:)
On a side note I know a lot isnt super comprehensive either. :lol:

Nice idea for a thread. Okay, my car's interior then. Only two photos since I've only ever taken two photos of the interior...

Plasticky, but I like it anyway. Looks quite simple, good clear chrome-ringed dials, all the controls right where you need them, and reasonably supportive and comfortable seats. The Momo steering wheel (stock on UK models, don't know about elsewhere) is great. Surprising amount of cubby space too for such a small car, and I've found that the parcel shelf/bulkhead space is really useful - I've fit my 23" TV (in its box) on the shelf before, fits perfectly.

Only trouble is that it's showing it's 19 years, in that the electric windows are a bit geriatric, the door handle surrounds are broken and the roof... well, it leaks a bit.

Oh, and my old car I suppose:

Nice enough interior for what you'd call an "economy car". Pleasant to look at, light and airy. Seats were okay, but didn't have enough under-thigh support so got painful over long journeys (sport models solved this with longer and chunkier seat squabs). Not a lot of rear seat space, but then the only time I really carried rear seat passengers was at my first uni and my flatmates were all quite petite ;) Controls were all good to use, weighted just as you'd want them.

Oddly, I don't have any shots of the interiors of any of my current cars. But, in the spirit of co-operation, here's an oldie:

Nice to see shots, but how do yall feel about them? Are they pretty comfortable?
Are all the controls easy to reach?

@homeforsummer
Thanks for the little write up.👍

Whats with the switches?

1998 Toyota Celica GT Liftback

Simply put, it's back when Toyota knew how to make interiors the right way. Everything is easy to read and well within reach, all of the materials are of high quality, and there aren't any awkward wiggles or jiggles to the pieces throughout the interior. Its a shame what the newer Toyotas have become, frankly.

@YSSMAN
Yeah I drove one of those celicas once. I definitely agree with you everything felt solid.
Though how is hanging your arm out the window? Is it pretty good? I know when I was driving it it seemed like i was sitting on the floor.:lol: Then again I dont really consider the rx7 the perfect arm hanging car but the door isnt as high as in the celica...or at least it doesn't seem that way.(it has been a few years)

If ST202 Celicas are anything like ST182 Celicas (and the interior looks basically the same, so I'm guessing they are), they are the perfect arm hanging cars.

Overall, the RX8 has a pretty good interior i think, the speedo is nice and big in the middle with the awesome rev counter around it and the center console is pretty easy and overall i like it, a bit cheap on some parts with the plasticy stuff, but i'm planning on di-noccing out the interior with some carbon fiber :dopey:

and yes, that is a Lego Robin keychain :sly:

I've taken loads of different photos of the interior of my car but they are all coming out like this :confused:

I can't work it out, can anyone help...btw I've got a Toyota Avensis '08.

Here's your problem sir, the picture you're hosting is a pic of a color sample from Matrix Flooring. ;)

On topic, here's the only pic I currently have of mine.

The only real interesting thing about either of my cars is that the Skyline's seats are very comfortable. And that the tacho in the Sierra sometimes has a mind of its own.

The switches in the Sierra were installed by a previous owner. The left activates the spotlights on the front, the middle was for a light on the back but that fell out as you can see, and the right is for an electric fan that helps cool the engine.

I love everything about my interior. Seats are as comfortable as my couch, vent windows make everything better. Every control I need to reach aside from radio/heater is within reach. Gotta move to get the radio/heat. The seat is all the way back, and fits me perfect. The gauges are easy to read and work, and it's far from "solid" feeling, but it looks good. The door panels rattle a bit, the dash has a rattle on the piece above the HVAC controls, and the head liner sags a little over my head. Of course, you don't notice any of this as you're cruising! Or when you've got a sub hooked up to amplify said rattles :lol:

Since those pictures almost 10 months ago, I've changed head units, replaced all speakers, added more, added an amp, and have a 10" Pioneer sub sitting on the trans hump now. I'll update soon with NOW pictures

Oddly enough, that looks nothing like the interior of the Ranger.

An old picture of the Tundra interior:

The interior has been cleaned up since then.

Now this is my kind of topic. :D I need to clean my car again and take some better pics. I took these in some bad lighting.

Where's your Camaro with the seats gone? Come on man, we need an update!

The Camaro has been sitting for almost 2 years with no update. :( I can't even sell it for $250 for someone to pickup and restore. I'll store it until I can afford to restore it...might take 5-10 years...

Man, if you didn't live several thousand miles away...

I've gotten to the age where I need something powerful enough and RWD enough that I can crash it in a spectacular way. That way I can spend the next 20 years repressing my car emotions until I have a mid-life crisis and buy a Porsche.

Oh well.
