Actually, before I got all those I was air cooling with my Alpha PAL8045 and a Delta 80 on it. Back then it was the only Delta I had and I thought it was plenty loud. When I went water I also bought more HQ fans to help jetstream my new cube case. You can imagine the shock I got when I heard the symphony of the Deltas.

Yeah, I bought two Sunon 120mm fans about a month ago in an effort to get better airflow through my case (turns out only one can fit ). I hooked both of them up to my fan controller on low speed and they sounded pretty quiet. When I spin the dial up to full they resemble a WW2 era bombing raid siren.

I'm either going to go for silent fans or watercooling next time though..

I dont advise going Water. Its a pain to take care of. Changing the water all the time gets to be quite the annoying task, and it doesnt provide much better temps than a good HQ HSF unless you keep your room cold, thats where water shines.

Did the case mod the other day. Used Automotive primer and deep blue pearl automotive paint. The finish is nice when viewed up close, the digicam doesnt capture the texture too well. And no I didnt airbrush the logo. It is a rear window sticker for a car readily available at any local automotive store

The only good thing I can say about this pc is that it is solid. I can leave it running for weeks at a time without ever having to restart. I love it

Hmm I got the same ASUS Mobo as you. I thought the mobo can only take up to PC3200, not 3500
