Along with GT PSP cars being transferable to GT5, it has now been confirmed by Stephanie Yoshimoto, Senior Product Marketing Manager, and author of the above article, that "Yes, you will be able to transfer your cars from GT5 Prologue and Gran Turismo on PSP over to GT5."

Look at comment 4 for verification.

We still don't know the specifics yet about the transfers to the full game, but this is surely a hefty revelation, especially for those who can't stand the temptation!:scared:

It hasn't JUST been revealed. It was JUST revealed when Prologue was released.

It never was, it was said that there would be some form of transfer (maybe money, license, cars) but no details were given as I don't think PD/Sony even knew what they would do yet.

So I can start GT5 with an F1 car, Citroen GT, S2000 Turbo etc?

Surely that ruins the fun of working your way up? I'll be starting from scratch, that's for sure.

(Or maybe transfering the cars, selling them, and tuning the naff base cars you get at the start).

It'll probably apply to the arcade mode only (mere speculation on my part) and not the GT mode. Then again I don't know what GT mode will entail.

I only hope is not an automatic transfer since I have one of every car in GT5p and to be honest I am tempted to transfer them but I really want to start from zero with no money and no cars.
But it's great news for anyone that wants that option from the start.

Yeah, these are my thoughts also, same with GT PSP cars, you have access to drive them in Arcade.

Previous GT's never automatically transfered even when the saves were on the same memory card so I wouldn't worry about it.

It's a good option to have for those who want to use it. I think it's a good idea. Those who don't like the idea can simply click on NO when the game ask you.

I will transfer my cars onto a custom PS3 account. That way I can have an online account with all the cars from the beginning, and a regular account that I can also use online.

I think I'm going to have to go play more Prologue and buy 10,000 F1 cars now. Sell them all and buy everything the day I get the game. Finally a chance to dive into the game from the beginning (hopefully).

Excellent. I can start tinkering with Evora straight away. and I think that suddenly, those Clios, NSX's and Elises and other cheater cars like those won't be able to beat it anymore.. :mischievous:

Great news for me, I have every car including two of the F2007's in both available colours. Hope GT has a Forza liek option of changing between manufacturer colours after purchase. I wish I'd got the Citroen GT in white and black instead of all black.

Just need to unlock my black and blue Bugatti in GT PSP for transfer, I already have the all black one and most of the other supercars of the last 8 years.

This is good news. When ever I switched on a new GT game, I always wanted to first buy the fastest cars and do a top end run. ..:) but couldn't.

Now I can with GT5, and once satisfied, I can then start GT mode, buying a new car for the initial credits given, and work my way up.

I have 4 F2007 cars saved (and counting), and since they are the most expensive when selling, I will have more then enough credits to buy these expensive beasts.

Also, at least when friends come over, we can have fun with multiplayer mode(Mouth watering ACR vs ZR1). As for online, I will only consider starting when I'm at least 20% complete with GT mode.

They can allow you to transfer all you like - I won't be bothering. Why buy the game if you are not going to play it properly?

I think this is excelent news, because it allows us to immediately start racing online.

I want to complete GT mode but I also want to race online with my friends from day one

That's like asking why you'd buy a Ferrari if you're not going to drive everywhere at 150mph.

I want to start from the beginning, so used japanese cars are what I'm up to in the early days of play, but the possibility to sell your collection of F2007 from prologue and buy a Enzo, a Veyron and a SLS is temptating, also, I wonder how the track unlock system will work, maybe equal to GT4 which was based on the number of in-game days you've played? Well, I just want to test the SLSAMG nurburgring lap times against the SLRMcLaren times.

And I'm waiting you guys for awesome online nurburgring races, based on clean overtakes and no ramming. :)

If not the cars, or you can get cars at once in gt5, at least some bonus, like more money or upgrades. We made an effort to buy Gt5p even if we know it only has few cars and spend our buck on it. At least give gt5p players some reward just like GT psp where you will get free cars for gt5

I will transfer them but only use them in Arcade as long as i cant get them in the GT mode. I will start my career from scratch, but for multiplayer (talking about Splitscreen) it would be good to have some cars to choose from. And its not like i would spoil the game then, since i have driven all 74 cars already in Prologue.

I thought people liked it when you rammed them, it gives them extra speed. :dopey:

Time to get cracking...

Hahahahahah, and this is one of the things which makes me love the idea of a damage system, since the first time it was discussed here.

Hooray! I'm definitely transferring. I love the classic GT career gameplay, but I won't have the time to grind for cars so.. cha-ching.

Nice option to have, but I'll be starting from scratch in the career mode. Once I get quite a ways into the game I'd probably transfer them over, if it's still possible then.

That's EXACTLY what i am going to do... plus any black cars or secret cars or any rare used cars that are available on certain days...
I remember i was so frustrated in GT2 for not being able to afford to buy a car that would appear just for one day in the Used car lot... i had to save money but that meant more days of driving and ultimately miss that opportunity to buy...
With the transferability... we would be able to buy anytime we want, having enough fund on the GO from the start!!! I am one proud owner of GT5-P !

I am definitely transferring EVERYTHING to both ARCADE / CAREER MODE...
(still not sure how that's going to work...)
I do NOT think the transfer will spoil my experience a bit, if anything, it will even increase my pleasure and make my experience even more satisfying !

I will still work from the beginning, going through all the license, buying my first USED crappy car etc etc...
