I am definitely transferring EVERYTHING to both ARCADE / CAREER MODE...
(still not sure how that's going to work...)
I do NOT think the transfer will spoil my experience a bit, if anything, it will even increase my pleasure and make my experience even more satisfying !
I will still work from the beginning, going through all the license, buying my first USED crappy car etc etc...
Bold part for emphasis. Since everyone doesn't read all the threads, I'll repeat what I posted before on this.
I did the money transfer in GT4, and wished it was even more. The reason being, I knew there would be treasures in the used car lot I'd want to have, and without cash on hand, would have to wait quite some time to buy otherwise. I bought five cars, and only used my first generation MR2 as far as it would take me, first without any upgrades - well, oil change, then with. My experience was only enhanced by having the capacity to own some cars I'd regret watching pass into the recycle bin.
I was thinking of selling a good number of my Prologue cars, but then, I did win or buy them fair and square, sometimes with a lot of effort (F1 2007). And even if I do keep every one of them, which I may well, I'll be buying or winning a car in the license tests. I think I'll buy from the used lots though - surely we'll have used cars again! I want that feeling I had in GT4 of starting with a small but respectable sports car, and using it as my ladder to greatness, as far as it will take me. And having a garage filled with a hundred some odd high performance cars isn't going to have any effect on that whatsoever. I'm a very patient man, if you've noticed how much I've tried to placate everyone waiting a small eternity for GT5 news.
Now there is one reason people would want to rush through the game, and that's because of online play. If you consider how MANY races and challenges there are going to be in GT5, with so freaking many cars and their multitude of manufacturer races, not to forget driving missions and license tests, it may take the average enthusiast way more than a year to do it all. Unless they have no life other than their PS3. Heck, it took me almost a year to get through most of GT4's many races, and that's without touching an endurance series!
I won't blame anyone if they jump on the transfer and abuse it, because we have been waiting a pretty darn long time for this game. I know some people have worn out Prologue and other games online, using it as a GT5 surrogate, and nearly having a stroke when the game was pushed to next spring. I'm going to take it slow and easy myself, enjoying this gourmet feast Kazunori sensei has prepared for us, but don't look down on those who want to take their Ferraris online from day one. You can hardly call people who have been waiting five years for this game "impatient."
